  • @bowsersenemy Yeah, they messed up with the series after X6... They could learn a lesson or two from this game for a possible X9. I don't and I won't accept the end of X series in X8, it's an okay game, but a horrible game to end the series. Anyway, it seems this game will be great...

  • @NessBrawl64 Actually, the canon end of the X series' story was in X5. Inafune ended the story there, Capcom just wanted more sequels for more money. Technically, X6, 7 and 8 were non-canon.

  • @jkbproductions oh yeah, i once had this idea of what about if u could actually keep some of the enemies as pets(for PERMANENTLY or at least by a good amounth of time) and like, up their stats, add more moves and skills,color changing and things like that, like those garden thingies in sonic games(exept they actually fight along with u) like a tuned up and more varied version of the elves from zero series. well its just an idea hope it helped for something...

  • actually, don't make 20 levels. make as many as you feel like, you are making this for free afterall. Capcom are such money grubbers - 'we're gonna make a whole bunch of X games, but we'll just make 12-13 levels and charge everyone £30/$30 each'. Yeah, you're better off renting them. Thats capcom for you - they make awesome looking games but lack the ability to make the game last long.

  • You could make megaman X9, the the way you're going on. Seriously, as long as Capcom gives you permission to release this, it would get quite far. The thing is about most MM games is that they have 12 or 13 levels each. Are you going to make like 20 levels? PLEASE make this many.

  • Game looks great, man. I'd buy it in a heart beat if there was some way to get it on Playstation Network or Xbox Live. It's just a shame Megaman X is a licensed property. Still, this looks better than most of the stuff Capcom has done in a looooooong time. Looking forward to its release. Keep up the good work.

  • Your stuff is some of the best Mega Man X stuff I have seen since the original X. Some of the concepts are just a blast of fresh air. For years Megaman in general has been stale with the same old find boss weakness exploit get upgrades etc etc. The abilities and options you've shown really open the series up. I would buy the final product in a heart beat if it had hand drawn sprites and was in HD, and a good storyline wouldn't hurt either. Why not explain what happened in btw MM and X...

  • @Aldotiti That bat is from the first MMX.

    As of now, you cannot have more than 1 enemy neurospiked, but if it ever to happen, no they won't attack each other.

  • @SSJEYMAN Once you spike an enemy, the shoot button releases the enemy so you can't fire another spike. That and it would be imbalanced to have multiple spiked.

  • Another Idea could be the inclusion of a pet system... You could possibly keep robots that you captured with the neurospike and than raise it using E-Crystals... Man I just full of ideas for this game...

  • Incorrect.

    It does work on the wheelies, they just don't follow you like the bats and mets, but they will do damage to other enemies and you can walk through them.

    Most enemies will be this way, only a few of them will follow you around.

  • i hope there will b parts where u r forced to use the neurospike cuz i dun think many ppl would use this item when fighting...like mayb an indestructable enemy u can only destroy by taking control of another one? i mean its just that neurospike is sorta weird to use in a real battle...not that i dun love it :)

  • That is X3 opening stage. It was a placeholder back then, now I have the mountain forest theme on that area.

  • I noticed a problem, I don't know if that's because you need spriters, but when you boost upwards the headgear comes off to normal X sprite.

  • Awesome weapon, I appreciate how it does more than just damage to the enemies. Will there be the ability to combine weapon effects? Like, hypothetically, Chill Penguins ride ice + Flame Stags fire dash = Rocket Ice. And what program are u using to make your sprites? I have gimp 2 and cs3, so if you have any projects I can take a crack at, i would love to help.

  • I use iDraw for pixel art.

    Do you have any example of heavy edited or custom MMX style sprite that you have done?

  • I have one I did awhile ago, but it got heavily compressed for no reason, still visible though. I have a sprite sheet Im working on now but its only half done.

  • Not temporary, it just depletes the weapon energy, and when it reaches zero or if you press the shoot button it cancels the effect.

    I play the PSX X-series on my PC with an app I use on my DS called DS2KEY and I want to play this exactly like the PSX does, or really the SNES.

  • Only the boss that has the weakness against it will be affected by it.

    Might not be very clear on the video, but all small enemies hacked are blown up when the neurospike wares off.

  • This weapon seems reallllly broken imo.

    What are the limits? Can one only be out at a time? Does the capture time shrink with increased difficulty? Can other enemies destroy the one you capture?

    This and the helmet = a really over powered looking combination. D:

  • Only one can be controled at a time.

    The WE will decrease faster on higher difficulties.

    Other enemies can destroy the hacked enemy.

    On top of that, bigger enemies consume a lot more WE.

    Helmet will not recharge WE when an enemy is hacked.

    That's good to know.

    You know, for replay value, you could add a sort of pokedex feature, and data on enemies can only be recorded when you use the NeuroSpike on them. The data only records when the spike times out so if the enemy is destroyed prematurely, any data is lost. And the weapon needs to stay selected the whole time until the data is done, so you cant switch prematurely.

    Have it work on bosses too (the data recording part)

  • I remember cain saying about there being five parts to the armor. We've so far seen the head, legs, and arms. What will the body do and what is the fifth part? Just curious.

  • Hm, I had an idea... I little while ago, I saw a video of the "Day of Sigma" sequence from Maverick Hunter X for the PSP. In it, there's a point where X uses a sort of "Shining Finger" attack that was never really available in any X game. I was thinking that could be an opportunity for you to include a cannon attack that hasn't been available to players before.

  • You're talking about the glowing fist when he is fighting Sigma? If so, I don't see how that would be a good weapon, thats moe like a cutscene kinda of thing.

  • Ah yeah I know what you mean, it probably wouldn't be that great of a weapon unless you added some extra touches to it, but I just thought it could possibly be a neat easter egg and good use of canon material. Just throwing the idea out there. :P

  • It is, basically, a more complex form of the Parasitic Bomb concept from X3, no? Still, there's nothing to dislike about it :P. Looks well-executed. I'd like to see it used on the new form you've given those helicopter-insect mavericks, heheh.

  • I only noticed that after someone mentioned it. It is kinda of similar, but the enemies don't kamikaze themselves, the shoot other enemies. The NeuroSpike makes smaller enemies follow you also. You won't be able to infect large enemies otherwise it would be too broken.

  • Ah, I see. Kinda figured that last point, though it'd still be interesting :P. But yeah, as I said, it's just more complicated/in-depth than just "grab the enemies and ram them into other enemies," heh.

  • For the helm you should do more. Allows double charging * Both busters* Or Charge faster.

  • The helm is already a bit overpowered in my opinion.

    There is ability and weapon upgrades and those that you mentioned are covered there.

    The Spike Soles. If you land on an enemy with them, you'll cause a tiny bit of damage.

    All enemies have been upgraded, so they are more agressive and some have new moves.

    I have 5 levels of difficulty so everyone can enjoy the game at there own pace.

    The armor head part ..., I can't put my finger on it but I don't like it. The buster and leg parts you showed in your previous video look great but the head seems ... un-X like somehow.

  • I meant the design. Maybe it's because it looks so different from X's original armors that I don't like it. You're right, it probably wouldn't look so out of place with the rest of the armor. But it just reminded me of some video game or tv character that doesn't really fit in X's category but I can't recall which one. It makes him look almost evil.

    Anyway you keep impressing with these videos. I always thought serious flash games equaled slow unresponsive gameplay but this sure proves me wrong.

  • I'm pretty sure going through enemies without getting hit is very convinient.

    The hacking part will be best used for A and S Class Hunter difficulties and for puzzles.

    Don't worry the next and last weapon will be more offensive.
