He has a hipshot bass extender on the E string that he's tuning down to a B and then tuning it back up with his other hand... I've been trying it for the last few minutes, takes a lot of coordination...

Right, I was just referring to this particular song- it can be played with just a single hipshot on the E string making it "accessible" for people with typical basses (well, 99% of it anyway :)

Pretty sure he has something like a Hipshot D-Tuner... a device that allows him to tune his E string down to B and back with the flick of a lever. Never seen it used in the middle of a song before! Amazing.

There is so much going on, It really trips me out. <br> but it's still really listenable and enjoyable.<br>compared to vic Woot, who just seems to be playing as fast, as possible for the sake of playing as fast as possible. IMO Vic is only impressive or popular to other bassists/musicians

I really doubt that many non bassists would listen to this for the sake of the music. I have Manring's new album Solioqouy so I'm not hating, just aknowledging the fact that this isn't exactly the most accessible music. For one, it's the bass and on top of that it's sort of New Age music which about .05% of the population actually listens to. Anyways, have you even seen Wooten's more laid back side? Watch the DMB vid or the Amazing Grace vid, he has the crowd in the palm of his hand.
