I see what he was trying to do by speeding it up, but I don't think it worked. While the voice... uh, takes some getting used too, the singing technique itself is in fact very good. Still, the drumbeat interrupting the long notes was, in my opinion, a mistake. In any case, you do get some consolation points for a) making an open tribute to an awesome band and b) covering something OTHER than "Smells like Teen spirit".
