  • @gatts300 Juu shichi gen means seventeen strings, not seven (and it's shichi, not shishi). The English name for the instrument is 17-string bass koto, or just bass koto.

  • Really really good. She put out a CD a while back that was great--go to .amazon. but I think didn't showcase her talent for more contemporary work as well as this performance. And the young man (son?) is also very impressive.
