  • A time when American was once strong, when work and struggle prevailed over Socialism and sloth

  • @HHenkelmann Not sure how a country which champions the executive making over 100 times more than his minions equates to socialism. Europe leans more toward socialism, yet you have several nations doing better than us over there. The power structure here exploits and fails to innovate.

"Economic progress has always been geared to the development of efficient transportation." The fact that this ceased for the most part shortly after this film was made is a symptom of the disease.

  • @jaymum23 Nowdays the chokehold of oppressive tax, regulation and endless red tape by an out of touch Administration, is what's bringing down American industry. We have the highest corporate tax rate in the world and over the years, unions have also leached off the American worker while their bosses dictate what political leader to support with the union dues. This is what is meant by a "socialist" agenda that now stiffles industry. Plus add to the mix "Czars" and other people screwing us up.

  • @TheEldoradoKid Again, the Sweden, Norway, German, etc. have these things, why are they not failing?

I'm not going to disagree with everything you said, but you paraphrase a lot of right-wing rhetoric. It's not that simple. Unions are partially at fault, but so are corporations and brain-dead consumers. And this Administration is no more out of touch than Reagan or Bush. Arguably less so. The fact is that we have not had a great President for generations, and it shows.

  • @jaymum23 Re: the corporate tax rates, it's well known that corporations, particularly the big ones (you know, the ones who stole our money 4 years ago), don't actually pay those rates. Having the highest rates in the world (did we actually pass Japan?) means nothing if the tax code is swiss cheese. Corporations have been doing better than ever, as our Q.O.L. heads for the cellar. And they just loooove to hire visas or outsource rather than pay market value for American labor.
