  • i WAS watching surf videos lol

  • although the theory is a good concept, the physical application is impossible. the wave pool cannot be completely self sufficient; energy must be put into the system in order to continue. It is stated in the second law of thermodynamics, the law of entropy, that for every energy transformation, some energy is lost to an unusable form (i.e. heat). Pick up a physics textbook once in a while.

  • @Iamthewalrus3200 The endless refers to the ride ( as you can keep going in circles ). It is evident that all energy lost to turbulens ( heat ) needs to be reinserted. In practice this results in an energy consumption of 1/3 of what is theoretically needed for a specific wave heigth and period for a barrelling wave. For less agressive waves the energy consumption rapidly decreases.

  • Eh, it's kinda cool... but don't know if the idea would sell.

  • If you go to the middle you get sucked back in time

  • someone gave you money to build that ?

  • fake

  • once you try to scale this up won't the change in surface tension have a major impact on the resulting wave?

  • @ruebs as every molecuul of water (except the centre) oscilates with the same period, the resulting wave will behave the same as it's natural brother over a simular reef. The period is relative to the pools diametre, a 60 metre pool will have 8 second waves.

  • now mmake one that you can surf

  • this definently wasn't what i was looking for. this is gay and a deceiving name and i agree that the noise is so annoying

  • the noise is fucking annoying

  • where is the wave

  • As hard as I try, I can not understand the point of this device.

  • you cant surf that its way to small

  • pretty sweet

  • What wave? Looks more like a whirlpool... Everyone gonna be spinning around barffing up chili-cheese nachos while getting flushed down the giant toilet.

  • i sand along with the song

  • looks like a giant waste of money and old technology outdated crap i can make a better endless wave with a blowdryer

  • with a full size version, that would be a perfect wave for bodyboarders to boost from!

  • @chikinwing1 Bodyboarders suck

  • @brynndg Smart comment little man how old are you, like 12 or somthing? anyway, its a fact bodyboarder take off deeper, steeper and get higher than any standup ever could try...

  • @chikinwing1 doesnt take much skill though. I could lie down in my sleep.

  • Comment removed

  • @brynndg Doesnt take much skill if your shit at it! ive been standing up every day since i was one yr old...easy stuff.

  • @chikinwing1 yeah i thought your first go was a bit poor too. I challenge you to a duel, pistols at dawn.

  • @brynndg haha im just a sucky bodyboarder!

  • what is the point in that?

  • Endles wave = Unlimited power = impossible

  • @AvolovaMovies It took only 1.2 kW to produce this endless wave. (30cm@3.6s). The best feature of this setup is that it recycles the energy of the foamball and that almost every molecuul of water in the pool moves with the same period, thus reducing friction.

  • @stevennauwelaerts New question then...could a feedback loop be introduced that monitors the energy expended by the surfers turns, which is then added to the energy of the wave until the surfers energy input is exhausted through fatigue and thus the wave simultaneously depletes...In this way a form of surf marathon competition could be developed as a new surfing sport...eh? It's out there, but why not?

  • @AvolovaMovies unlimited power is possible

  • @Dannnneh Well...not with the knowledge we have today, in the future perhaps

  • @AvolovaMovies NOW you're correct

  • @AvolovaMovies impossible is nothing

  • Check out the Kelly Slater Wave Company.....it features in the latest Popular Science Mag!

  • @AvolovaMovies wow...well it doesnt equal unlimited power because the constant power needed to produce the wave is greater than the so called 'unlimited limited power' that it produces...

  • This Is An Annoying Vidoe!! >_<

  • THis will be awesome ! Good job man

  • ...and now we find a surfing squirrel

  • but will it blend??

  • same wave different energy so not eternal

  • what happens if you fall? you get crushed by endless waves?

  • @DurgSTER4 : if you do nothing (wich is never a good idea when caught in the inside) you will be washed to the centre of the pool where there are no waves.

  • @DurgSTER4 - you get sliced by endless coral

  • is this a fucking joke...

  • My daughter's kiddie pool does this too.. FAIL

  • why did everyone downvote this? Were you really expecting it to be bigger? Quite frankly this is quite an interesting achievement to have an endless wave powered by pneumatic pistons that extend in sequence to keep it going.

  • haha silly wave u go straight not in circles! hahaha he will egt it someday

  • @sclongboarder15 : most of the heavy reefbraeks are concave waves, thus not breaking in a straight line but in an arc.

  • @sclongboarder15 search for teahupoo smartass

  • @stefan11hv ok i wasnt being a smartbutt i was jst playing... no need to get your 12 year old rebillion in a not

  • I would just rather wakesurf that is endless and you don't get dizzy lol

  • If this was 20x bigger it would be fucking rad

  • keep on developing, ( i frankly don't understand all the negative comments ..)

  • looks rather strange

  • look like a great way to drown.

  • As quoted by dereck zoolander from the movie zoolander...Without further adue i give you the steven nauwelaerts surf pool for people who cant surf!!........What is this?(chucks it on the ground)A WAVE POL FOR ANTS!!!!How can we expect people to learn how to surf if they cant fit in the wave pool!steven its just a...i dont wanna hear your excuses the wave pool has to be at least...3 times as big..lol

  • @bcx1982 For 9s swells it would have to be 70m in diameter, wich is 7 times bigger than the scale model.

  • @stevennauwelaerts You're such a downer man. It was a joke..

  • soooo gaayyyy!!!!!!

  • dose it have an endless barrel and could it compare to the ocean on a pirfict day

  • @themadscientest It does have an endless barrel and it is a genuine swell, wave speed and and shape can be programmed so it can compare to ocean waves, but the ocean is still the ocean.

  • @stevennauwelaerts you had me at endless barrel

  • whats there to surf from that looks like a whirlpool with a wave sucking you to the center... Centrifigal force is a bitch man

  • @flyhigh747 . First of all the water in the pool does not rotate so centrifugal force? And second if you look close, in the center of the pool there is no wave, wich creates a safe zone in the center. In fact a surfer would surf in a big circle around the center of the pool thus creating an endless ride, the further away from the center the wave breaks the faster the ride and vice versa.

  • I'd like to surf this thing
