How do we choose to go to hell because we don't believe in something there is insufficient proof of? If a god wanted us to believe in it, and they are all powerful, they are capable of giving real proof, but they don't, which leads to the conclusion that one does not exist. If one happens to exist and I get sent to a hell because he wanted to play games about his existence, he's an asshole. I wouldn't worship someone with screwed up morality like him though, so I'd still go to hell.
The question "Is the god recognized by christians, jews, muslims the same?", he answered. However, "Why is there need for a hell?" is answered by with "free will" which is irrelevant. Therefore, he dodged the question. Also, the "is there free will in heaven?" question was dodged with "you won't want anything else". If you can't see how that is a non-answer, you never will.
Priests seem to know that decision making is their free will. That's why they rape little boys and make the decision to do so because god says they can. God tells people what to do because he a product of that persons mental capacity to deny reality.
everyone has free will, its what drives us to do what we want to do.
so in other cases that means if I have the free will to murder someone then I'll still be forgiven, WTF.
so really in this world there is no right or wrong just rules that say there is a right and wrong but its only words.
the police, military, religious folk and civilians are bent by these rules because from birth they are taught to abide by rules and told to stop those who say different.
Ok, the first two answers were stupid but at least they were answers that you could "reasonably" make up. The third answer, about having free will in heaven, was utter ridiculousness because there is absolutely NO WAY to know that answer.
And yes, I know there's no way to know the other answers either, but seriously, that last answer was just mind-blowingly obnoxious.
The Priest didn't "dodge" the questions. He answered them. The typical stupid faux/pseudo "intellectual" atheist who lied in his post title just didn't like the answers.
I am not religious at all, but stupid atheists like this one convince me that for the most part, atheists are intellectually dishonest.
Simply because God knows what we will do, does not in any way negate the condition of free will in relation to us. We still have to make the choices in our "non-eternal" condition.
@ExcaliburClan You're an idiot. Belief in or acceptance of the existence of "God" a "Creator" a "Supreme Being" call it/him/her what you will does NOT make one religious. I adhere to no particular religious dogma or institution. So, no, it does not make me a hypocrite. Ego? Sure. All the idiots who don't believe in a God because there is no "proof" are the same fools who believe whatever a "scientist" tells them. Science is a religion and scientists are a priesthood.
@ExcaliburClan No human has examined every corner and inch of the universe. No human has ever examined all that is outside the universe (it is expanding into something, therefore the "outside" exists). The best one can be is agnostic, to flatly claim that a "god" does not exist because one has not personally seen or experienced God is "ego".
My ego is not so big as to be willing to bow my knee to the Creator of the Universe........
There's just as much evidence for fairies, leprechauns, an invisible pink unicorn, or your entire life being a dream as there is for there being a god or gods. No, you cannot say that any of those are impossible... but the only reasonable position is to accept them as remote unlikely possibilities and move on.
To spend your life pondering the reality of unlikely claims with no evidence as an agnostic is not, remotely, reasonable.
@irishgal2002697 How exactly were questions about faith putting contradictions into light "ignorantly based"? Probably just how asking a candidate about what they know is a "gotcha question".
Well then, you might say, "Why does God blame people for not responding? Haven't they simply done what he makes them do?" No, don't say that. Who are you, a mere human being, to argue with God? Should the thing that was created say to the one who created it, "Why have you made me like this?" When a potter makes jars out of clay, doesn't he have a right to use the same lump of clay to make one jar for decoration and another to throw garbage into?
@Hagion7206 not if the jar is actually alive, have senses, feelings, emotions and can think by itself reproduce... So your example is completly irrelevant.
@Acrimonator Very small minded response...but boringly anticipated. Go to the library, get a dictionary & look up this word, "God." "He does this to make the riches of his glory shine even brighter on those to whom he shows mercy, who were prepared in advance for glory. " God will do whatever He decides to do - even with you. Get over yourself and your desire to live an evil life without having to give an account to the One who created you. "All that call on the Name of the Lord shall be saved."
@Hagion7206 nice dodging of the point, but I didn't hold my breath here. Even better thatn that, you pompousely offer part of a mythology book I don't believe in as burst of self centered arrogance to furtherly prove yours. Circulare logic FTW.
Trying to hide the turd behind something ever dirtier, so classical, I love it.
There you go lying again. We did not live in caves and fear lightning...well maybe your family line did...but the rest of us were created human beings. It pains me that there are people like you who just ooze hatred and an unwillinglness to see or tell the truth. Fortunately, all around the world, the Christian faith is growing at an unprecidented rate while scientist bail like crazy on the vacancy of answers provided by evolutionists. You sir, are a loser on an all star team of losers.
@Hagion7206 'we did not live in caves and fear lightning'. Well if you didn't then you have come from another human race! We all come from the same beginnings. How come you didnt start out from the same place as everyone else?
@Hagion7206 Christianity growing @ an unprecedented rate? Where do you get your stats? The only place it is growing is in the 3rd World. It is failing every place else. Once someone reads the moral code in your "Good Book" they usually abandon such silliness. Gullibility is not a trait, that should be praised. Why would you want to follow a God who tortures, orders killings, and is jealous of his creations?
@OLDSKOOLNYC1 You could not be more wrong. It is estimated, ie Megashift, James Ruiz, that Christianity is growing by 8% a year.At that trend there will be, "more Christians than people by the autumn of 2032." People tolerate lies only so long. Darwinism, naturalism, so called "science" has had its day. Christianity brought about the freeist nation in world history, more charities, more hospitals more human kindness. Darwinist like Norway's Breivik ultimately bring great pain, suffering & death.
@Hagion7206 No, don't try to put this massacre on Atheists, or whatever a "Darwinist" is supposed to be. He committed his atrocities in the name of stopping Islam. So this another religious killing. But this type of massacre pales in comparison to your God who massacres Women, Children, and anyone who doesn't drink the Kool Aid of your "Good Book". btw, those stats are lies, if you are going to make a claim like that provide EVIDENCE, something you believers have a problem with understanding!
@OLDSKOOLNYC1 I'm just telling you what the man said about himself: 1. He does not believe in God 2. He believes science/Darwinism has ascendency over religion. Sounds like Adolf Hitler who used evolution to justify the holocaust (all the unfit like Jews & homosexuals) went into the ovens. Christians build hospitals, atheists build concentration camps. Read some history, the fight against Islam is why Columbus discovered America. Islam will bring the entire world into nuclear war...soon.
@Hagion7206 The Myth of Hitler being an Atheist has been debunked as many times as your belief in the facts of your Bible. btw, claiming to be a Knights Templar, his facebook page stating he is a Christian just proves how much of a non-believer he really is! Also, when Columbus and his ilk conquered "newly" discovered lands, they always came with the Cross on the Flag. Check your history, your Bible never condemns slavery.
@OLDSKOOLNYC1 So, to get the record correct, you're saying that Hitler was a Christian who committed the resources of Germany to meass murdering Jews, mental deficients, homosexuals & political enemies? Only a man who is convinced that people arose from nothing & with no purpose could assign no value to them & thereby justify destroying them. Hitler was an effeminate who surrounded himself with masochistic homosexuals who appealed to the arrogance & fear of the Aryan people.
@Hagion7206 Kindly source your statements. I happen to have a few books on Hitler (including Mein Kampf, Kershaw's biography, and Bullock's biography) and none of them have the statements you allege. They do have numerous references to "the creator", destiny, fate, pre-determinism, astrology and a number of other decidely non-atheist beliefs. German soldiers wore belt buckles referencing god. I'll help you out a bit, Social Darwinism has absolutely nothing to do with Darwin or Evolution.
@OLDSKOOLNYC1 After having been in Saudi Arabia & Kuwait I can tell you that Islam is worth stopping. Remember that the Ottoman's (Islam) was on the verge of conquering the entire Western world. The only nation left standing in their way was Spain. Spain was sending explorers all over the known world to find resources to fund, especially a Navy, to defeat the Ottomans. That's why they bankrolled Columbus. America's 1st oversea miltary campaign was against muslim pirates in the Med.
@Hagion7206 I'm gonna leave it @ this. You've totally skewed the conversation to a discussion about Islam's evils. You are right about Islam, but Dominionists would do the same thing here that is practiced in the Middle East, a theocracy based on ancient beliefs. Not good for humanity, no matter who is doing the preaching. Religion is dangerous PERIOD! Besides, despite your denials, they pray to the same non-existent God you do. The beliefs of the Koran,Bible,Torah all cut from the same cloth.
Funny. But not at all intelligent. Darwin's Delema, The Mystery of the Cambrian Fossil Record. Illustra Media. See the video and then try hard to think...I know it will be difficult for you since you have been assimilated...but try anyway. Take the time to find an IQ.
The term "singularity" is used by scientists when what they mean is "we don't know." It makes them look silly to say they don't know where the matter came from that produced the Big Bang, so they say "singularity" instead. It makes them appear to be educated and certain. Big Bang: "We don't know" exploded for reasons we can't imagine and created a universe that we are incapable of accurately exploring, measuring or explaining. MAJOR FAIL.
@Hagion7206 The only MAJOR FAIL here is you own ignorance. Why don't you try researching what a singularity actually means. Just because we can't explain everything, doesn't mean you can shoe-horn your god into it. Humans used to live in caves and hide in fear of lightning as they feared an angry 'god' We're no longer frightened of lightning as we know what causes it.
The more we learn about ourselves and the universe, the place religion gets to hide in gets smaller and smaller.
@000phill000 A singularity is simply a rhetorical device used by "scientists" to obfuscate the gaping holes in the personal philosphies they offer as facts. There is more mass in an atom than there is in any cosmology that purports that first there was nothing then it exploded & over an ever extending (as necessary) period of time & requiring more mass than the entire universe contains...people just happened. Get real!
An expected repsonse from someone who believes that everything was created from nothing. Fortunately the truth is that God, a living, communicating being created everything and He communicates with His creation.
Atheist have the right to their beleifs on religon and their opinions, but they dont have the right to bash on organized religon cuz then your enforcing your beliefs on them and that makes you no better than those over-religous types
I take it back...you are definitely NOT a thinking person. I have spent the past 3 hours worshipping and talking with God in a very two-way conversation. There was no "golden shower" but I enjoyed the love of God tremendously, as usual. God who created all things, especially man in His own image and likeness, is a communicator - as you would expect of any living persoan. I am sorry that you are dedicated to lying about Him. Your atheist propaganda only works on the weak minded. Sad.
I have a few question.I know it is a very stupid question, but scientist have found fossils and dinosaurs bones. How come there not mention it in the bible?I believe in god, but I don't believe in everything in the bible.Idon't belive in adam or eve.I think thats a dumb and sexist story. Remember the bible was writen by men not God.It theories just like Darwin theories.I think we should be open minded and not judge each other. The chances are is that we are all wrong or off on some details.
@TheLunaheart Honest questions but I am confused. I first learned of donosaurs in the bible. I learned much about physics, biology, cosmology, dopler shift, contraction of space-time, quntum physics, cyphers and many other scientific subjects in the bible. Most of the early scientists believed in God men like Newton, Copernicus,Kepler, Boyle, Faraday, Kelvin, Planck. They believed that a rational God created the universe using rational laws & sought to discover them and Him.
@Hagion7206 Number one, you didn't "learn about" any of those things in the bible. After you had learned about them elsewhere, you went back and tried to make things fit with scripture. Number two, the key to your statement is EARLY scientists. It is called "god of the gaps." Early scientists once believed in alchemy and leeching as a medical procudure, but no more. Your "argument from authority" falls apart when you consider 93% of the Academy of Sciences do not believe in any god. Major FAIL.
@TheOracle1956 And you are absolutely wrong and your 93% is pure rectal extrapolation. I have a list of more 700 scientists from all over the world who in 2008 signed a declaration od skepticism concerning Darwinian theory. Also, I've never read of any "scientist" who believed in alchemy. You guys all use the same smoke and mirrors to impress those who are disinclined to think for themselves. You are people of very dark hearts and minds.
@Hagion7206 93% is accurate and I can provide you with the methodology if you'd like. Keep in mind this study was restricted to the elite scientific community, not crackpots like Kent Hovind with fake PhDs. Your list is probably the discredited one produced by the Discovery Institute. Nearly every scientific society, representing 100s of thousands of scientists, has issued statements disputing your claim and a petition supporting evolutionary biology was endorsed by 72 US Nobel Prize winners.
In the 21st century men actually devolved to the point that they believe that 1st there was nothing & 2nd it exploded. The explosion of nothing created the period table of elements which over a convenient, though un-provable, length of time became thought and sentience and self-awareness. Everything was created by nothing. Please! I have a 3 digit IQ. Darwinists are gullible and weak-minded fools at best, narcissistic monsters at worst.
Finally, a thinking person on YouTube. You're right about sunshine...but you are wrong about God. I have had a very personal relationship with Jesus Christ since I was a teenager. And since a man with an experience is never at the mercy of man who only has an argument you will never convince me otherwise. Gos is a person who communicated with His creation and He communicates with me , and millions of others, daily. But I would happily argue any point you choose. Creationism (ID) trumps Darwin.
@Hagion7206 but your experience is in your head alone...you have no proof to show anyone else. anyone can say 'i had an experience. i experienced zeus in a shower of gold. my experience trumps anyone with logical arguments against me.' but that does not make a convincing argument. you are just a sad, deluded sheep, and you have already been fleeced.
God - who loves all people so much that He Himself, in the person of His Son Jesus, paid the price for sin for every man; who freely gives salvation, and joy, and healing, and gifts, to all those who meerly ask. Why is it that the same sunshine that melts ice hardens cement? Its the substance of the object that makes the difference. "No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day."
@Hagion7206 It isn't sunshine that melts ice, nor hardens cement. So, your anology is nonsense. There is no god. And it's about time you grew up, put away childish things, and joined us in the 21st century.
@Hagion7206 Sunshine sometimes (but not always) melts ice to be sure (provided the ambient temperature is high enough), but it doesn't "harden cement," it evaporates the moisture which then allows the cement to cure. You either already knew that and set up a strawman argument which you knew was false, or you really don't know anything about how things work. Either way, you are wrong. The most religious period in human history was called the Dark Ages for a reason. Why don't you go back there?
I don't believe in God. I cant - for the same reason I cant believe in Big Foot. So, I'm not choosing to be "separated from God". There is no choice involved.
Even if someone told me, "you must believe in Big Foot, or else I will kill you", I would still not be able believe. I would say the words " yes I believe in Big Foot!" but it would just be me faking it.
God rewarded Abraham because God keeps His covenants - even with imperfect people who do stupid things because their life is threatened. One of the very best things about a relationship with the Living God is the ceertain knowledge that He will never give up on His people.
@Hagion7206 Yeah, he keeps his covenants... as long as you are circumcised! Yet another riduculous biblical superstition to laugh at alongside animal sacrifice and talking trees.
@TheOracle1956 Fair warning, Darwin's Dilemma is a Discovery Institute product. Why these guys can never put it in a paper for peer review, I don't know. Oh wait, it's because it's nonsense. There are several extensive papers available that crush it's ideas.
@milesalpha1 Yes, of course it is nonsense. What I would like to see is Kent Hovind or some other prominent New Earth Creationist submit a paper to a reputable scientific journal for peer review in which he lays out the case for the Hovind "ice meteor" Theory. The response from real scientists would be funnier to watch than a Comedy Central special! But you know as well as I do they have no interest in truth. Their only concern is the perpetuation of myths for personal gain and/or comfort.
Allah is not the God of Abraham. Isaac and Jacob worshipped another way. Allah is in fact the antithesis of everything Jewish and Christian. God is pure love, Allah is pure hatred. He is like Obama...a charlatan who is unqualified. Come to Texas, I'll intro you to hundreds of men named Jesus, none of whom died for your sin and rose from the dead. Using the same names and terminologies as the authentic does not make the counterfeit of equal evalue.
@Hagion7206 God made of pure love who killed every firstborn in Egypt because the Pharaoh didn't free the Jews and hardened the Pharaoh's heart every time he wanted to free the Jews so that he could kill more firstborns. God made of pure love who burns and tortures innocent people in extreme agony for all eternity.
@drrobertoboogie97 Well, Dr. Bob, what is apparent to me is that people of dark hearts see all things darkly. "But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!" Just like the Pharaoh you seem to miss the opportunity to see God's covenant faithfulness and love toward His own people. But then cosmology determines everything.
"But the LORD hardened Pharaoh’s heart, and he would not let the Israelites go." Exodus 10:20
See, God was he one who made the Pharaoh unwilling to let the Jews go, not the Pharaoh himself.
"you seem to miss the opportunity to see God's covenant faithfulness and love toward His own people"
If God created everyone, then everyone is his own people. So he has faith and love for everyone. Yet he threatens to burn and torture them in extreme agony for all eternity.
where is the scripture that actually says, that God ever gave mankind "free will"???? i never saw it. but on the other hand God says obey or die, often. Although He also gives you lots of leeway if you are genuinely trying your best to listen to Him and obey His Spirit. He does forgive, but it is conditional as far as I can tell. Chastisement= learning.
1. He doesn't have to know about other religions to prove their wrong b/c he can claim to know everything about Christianity and can't prove it's true. It's a belief
2. God doesn't force anyone to do anything. You're either for him or against him.
3. Right. There is no free will in Heaven. Also no pain, no death. Only a will to live righteously with our Creator.
@JayJayAbels no,it's not okay, and it's not true. some of us know what you don't, but you say that no one know what you don't. that makes you a self-absorbed idiot. people havve MET and EXPERIENCED God and His supernatural power, so, shut up, you don't know what you're talking about. Ignorance is the basis of your unbelief and foolish denial as if "i don't know" should mean "it doesn't exist".
@theCosmicQueen You are a human being. You do not possess magical powers that make you know more than anyone else... about the supernatural. I WAS a "born again Christian"... you're aren't telling me ANYTHING new. You have NEVER experienced "god" because there is no such thing. You may attribute some of your experiences with the supernatural but there is always a natural explanation for these experiences. You are... like MANY others... DELUDED. There is no "god"... and that's okay.
1. He doesn't know enough about god to claim that other religions are wrong.
2. You won't go to hell because once you die you'll realize that god exists because he will be right there in front of your eyes, and since he apparently benevolent he wouldn't force you down you hell if you didn't want to go.
This guy is a totally useless representative for god (small g). . . . . . . . . with luck he'll be the next pope & be another nail in the coffin of this supersticious bunk.
That man is NOT a Priest!!!! His explaination for Hell was completley wrong. Hell was created for Satan and his Demons. And Satan is on this world to Decieve us and take us down to Hell with him, when the ''Day Of Judgement'' comes
@fookingfantastic God is still the God of Love, and Satan also has a purpose in this life....And that is to decieve us, aswell as show us true EVIL so that we may rise above it and find the LORD. Of course non believers may not experience true evil due to the simple fact that they DONT believe in Jesus Christ. And whether or not you believe in Satan, when you worship something other than the Lord...You are filling Satan with PRIDE.Bottom line is Satan has a purpose and he always will...SIN=DEATH
And why didn't this god make this world where his creation is "connected" to him in the first place so we would have no desire to "sin"--instead of this world where he is a no show, and everything is in chaos with millions suffering and dying--many in the name of this invisible nonexistent god?? I've studied with priests, and know they get multiple explanations for biblical passages--none of which make sense to critical thinkers.
"There's a hell, because God respects our free will. In other words, if you don't believe in him, he's fine with that. He'll just burn you for the rest of eternity. But the important thing, is that you have freedom to choose." Beautiful. (i'm being sarcastic)
Let me get this straight...because God respects our free will he went out of his way to create a place of unimaginable pain and suffering for us to live in an infinite amount of time?
How can anyone justify torturing a living creature for ALL eternity? That is not love and it shows no understanding of human nature. If the Christian god is real he is evil beyond your wildest dreams. Who else would create a torture chamber for billions of humans?
"if god is so loving why would he throw people in hell?" because the devil decieved the whole world, and the world became gods enemy, but since god loved the world he put himself in a physical body becoming the son of god, in order to lead the sinners out of hell while they are still in this life, but when he came, the world rejected him, so christ's suffering on the cross won't cover there sins, they will pay there own penalty which is the spiritual death, also known as hell.
SYMOS, Free will(FW) = choice or the right to choose your destination in life. Yes, FW/choice dictated the creation of heaven and hell. A logical example is society and prison. Prisons were created for those whos choice was to break the law. Prisons would not be needed if everyone chose not to break the law. Similarly, Hell's creation was dictated by individual choice and free will. God does not condemn. We choose to condemn ourselves via our own FW & choices. Love is allowing choice

"If I am so united to God in Heaven, I am not going to be able to choose evil. Yes there's free will, BUT if I am united to God, I am so happy that I don't want anything else." - Father Jonathan
Hmm. What was all that stuff I was taught about Lucifer being the number one angel and choosing to rebel in Heaven against God? If God is omnibenevolent, concupiscence is not an option. If God is not omnibenevolent, looks like the "fall" is going to happen again and again, ad infinitum. Uh oh, paradox!
The logic of the last question is not very good. It is like saying swimming is the product of free will, but since there is no swimming in the sahara desert (because there's no water), then there is no free will.
It amazes me that some fools claim to know in such detail stuff that is supposedly outside of this world, yet he probably doesn't even know his own anatomy
The separation of god is hell, am i already living it? If so, it is awesome, if only these religious zealots would quickly migrate to heaven and leave the rest of us alone.
Gee God respects our freewill, is that what God told you or is that what you came up with? When was the last time you and God had a face to face talk priest? Wait thats right thats what they taught you to say. Funny the Church doesn't seem to respect freewill because the church sends you to Hell to be tortured for all eternity and back in the day they would give you a taste of Hell first to save you out of love by burning you alive on a stake funny they don't seem to care as much anymore?
Dont lie Father. Hell is like a permanent time out for those who dont listen to "daddy". The devil is nanny 911 for Hell. And if i cant choose to have fun in heaven because God doesnt want me to, whats the point of going there?
"There is a hell because God respects our free will."
... He did NOT just say that. He did NOT.
I'm speechless. And I thought Father Barron was an awful preacher and abysmal at explaining things, but *this*... this is... beyond abysmal. This is subterranean.
Man, he both looks and sounds SO gay! Not that I have anything against gays, but I thought that catholics do.. No..they usually "like" quoir boys..so maybe ity's OK to be gay in the catholic church..?
Why is the (opportunity) to enter and live in heaven (as difficult a challenge as it is) so worthy of the agony and torture we go through on earth in pursuit of it?
Why were we left with so little to the imagination of how heaven will be but we are frequently told how horrible hell will be?
What about Lucifer being cast down from Heaven? Did he not want anything else?

Priests seem to know that decision making is their free will. That's why they rape little boys and make the decision to do so because god says they can. God tells people what to do because he a product of that persons mental capacity to deny reality.

MrTHLawrence 5 months ago
@ExcaliburClan No human has examined every corner and inch of the universe. No human has ever examined all that is outside the universe (it is expanding into something, therefore the "outside" exists). The best one can be is agnostic, to flatly claim that a "god" does not exist because one has not personally seen or experienced God is "ego".
My ego is not so big as to be willing to bow my knee to the Creator of the Universe........
MrTHLawrence 5 months ago
@MrTHLawrence
Ryakki 3 months ago
@MrTHLawrence atheist = "dont believe"
agnostic = "dont know"
I am an agnostic atheist, with the emphasis on "not believing"...
Not knowing is definitely not a reason "to believe".

'God respects our free will'????
Is this the God that knows everything that ever has been, everything that is and everything that will be?
If that is the case, we cannot have free will. God already knows what we will do therefore there is no such thing as free will.
The argument that there are some things that God doesn't know rather depletes his power. The all-powerful God that is a bit second-rate in parts.
All-knowing God or free will.
They are mutually exclusive.
Which is it?

irishgal2002697 6 months ago
@irishgal2002697 How exactly were questions about faith putting contradictions into light "ignorantly based"? Probably just how asking a candidate about what they know is a "gotcha question".
MagnesDrachen13 6 months ago
Well then, you might say, "Why does God blame people for not responding? Haven't they simply done what he makes them do?" No, don't say that. Who are you, a mere human being, to argue with God? Should the thing that was created say to the one who created it, "Why have you made me like this?" When a potter makes jars out of clay, doesn't he have a right to use the same lump of clay to make one jar for decoration and another to throw garbage into?
Hagion7206 7 months ago

Hagion7206 7 months ago
@Hagion7206 'we did not live in caves and fear lightning'. Well if you didn't then you have come from another human race! We all come from the same beginnings. How come you didnt start out from the same place as everyone else?
kirked007 7 months ago
@Hagion7206 Christianity growing @ an unprecedented rate? Where do you get your stats? The only place it is growing is in the 3rd World. It is failing every place else. Once someone reads the moral code in your "Good Book" they usually abandon such silliness. Gullibility is not a trait, that should be praised. Why would you want to follow a God who tortures, orders killings, and is jealous of his creations?
OLDSKOOLNYC1 7 months ago
@OLDSKOOLNYC1 You could not be more wrong. It is estimated, ie Megashift, James Ruiz, that Christianity is growing by 8% a year.At that trend there will be, "more Christians than people by the autumn of 2032." People tolerate lies only so long. Darwinism, naturalism, so called "science" has had its day. Christianity brought about the freeist nation in world history, more charities, more hospitals more human kindness. Darwinist like Norway's Breivik ultimately bring great pain, suffering & death.
Hagion7206 7 months ago
@Hagion7206 No, don't try to put this massacre on Atheists, or whatever a "Darwinist" is supposed to be. He committed his atrocities in the name of stopping Islam. So this another religious killing. But this type of massacre pales in comparison to your God who massacres Women, Children, and anyone who doesn't drink the Kool Aid of your "Good Book". btw, those stats are lies, if you are going to make a claim like that provide EVIDENCE, something you believers have a problem with understanding!
OLDSKOOLNYC1 7 months ago
@OLDSKOOLNYC1 I'm just telling you what the man said about himself: 1. He does not believe in God 2. He believes science/Darwinism has ascendency over religion. Sounds like Adolf Hitler who used evolution to justify the holocaust (all the unfit like Jews & homosexuals) went into the ovens. Christians build hospitals, atheists build concentration camps. Read some history, the fight against Islam is why Columbus discovered America. Islam will bring the entire world into nuclear war...soon.
Hagion7206 7 months ago
@Hagion7206 The Myth of Hitler being an Atheist has been debunked as many times as your belief in the facts of your Bible. btw, claiming to be a Knights Templar, his facebook page stating he is a Christian just proves how much of a non-believer he really is! Also, when Columbus and his ilk conquered "newly" discovered lands, they always came with the Cross on the Flag. Check your history, your Bible never condemns slavery.
OLDSKOOLNYC1 7 months ago
@OLDSKOOLNYC1 So, to get the record correct, you're saying that Hitler was a Christian who committed the resources of Germany to meass murdering Jews, mental deficients, homosexuals & political enemies? Only a man who is convinced that people arose from nothing & with no purpose could assign no value to them & thereby justify destroying them. Hitler was an effeminate who surrounded himself with masochistic homosexuals who appealed to the arrogance & fear of the Aryan people.
Hagion7206 7 months ago
@Hagion7206 Kindly source your statements. I happen to have a few books on Hitler (including Mein Kampf, Kershaw's biography, and Bullock's biography) and none of them have the statements you allege. They do have numerous references to "the creator", destiny, fate, pre-determinism, astrology and a number of other decidely non-atheist beliefs. German soldiers wore belt buckles referencing god. I'll help you out a bit, Social Darwinism has absolutely nothing to do with Darwin or Evolution.
milesalpha1 7 months ago
@OLDSKOOLNYC1 After having been in Saudi Arabia & Kuwait I can tell you that Islam is worth stopping. Remember that the Ottoman's (Islam) was on the verge of conquering the entire Western world. The only nation left standing in their way was Spain. Spain was sending explorers all over the known world to find resources to fund, especially a Navy, to defeat the Ottomans. That's why they bankrolled Columbus. America's 1st oversea miltary campaign was against muslim pirates in the Med.
Hagion7206 7 months ago
@Hagion7206 I'm gonna leave it @ this. You've totally skewed the conversation to a discussion about Islam's evils. You are right about Islam, but Dominionists would do the same thing here that is practiced in the Middle East, a theocracy based on ancient beliefs. Not good for humanity, no matter who is doing the preaching. Religion is dangerous PERIOD! Besides, despite your denials, they pray to the same non-existent God you do. The beliefs of the Koran,Bible,Torah all cut from the same cloth.
OLDSKOOLNYC1 7 months ago

The term "singularity" is used by scientists when what they mean is "we don't know." It makes them look silly to say they don't know where the matter came from that produced the Big Bang, so they say "singularity" instead. It makes them appear to be educated and certain. Big Bang: "We don't know" exploded for reasons we can't imagine and created a universe that we are incapable of accurately exploring, measuring or explaining. MAJOR FAIL.
Hagion7206 7 months ago
@Hagion7206 Your thought process is evidence that Darwin was right.
TheOracle1956 7 months ago
@Hagion7206 The only MAJOR FAIL here is you own ignorance. Why don't you try researching what a singularity actually means. Just because we can't explain everything, doesn't mean you can shoe-horn your god into it. Humans used to live in caves and hide in fear of lightning as they feared an angry 'god' We're no longer frightened of lightning as we know what causes it.
The more we learn about ourselves and the universe, the place religion gets to hide in gets smaller and smaller.
000phill000 7 months ago
@000phill000 A singularity is simply a rhetorical device used by "scientists" to obfuscate the gaping holes in the personal philosphies they offer as facts. There is more mass in an atom than there is in any cosmology that purports that first there was nothing then it exploded & over an ever extending (as necessary) period of time & requiring more mass than the entire universe contains...people just happened. Get real!

Remember the bible was writen by men not God.It theories just like Darwin theories.I think we should be open minded and not judge each other. The chances are is that we are all wrong or off on some details.
TheLunaheart 7 months ago
@TheLunaheart Honest questions but I am confused. I first learned of donosaurs in the bible. I learned much about physics, biology, cosmology, dopler shift, contraction of space-time, quntum physics, cyphers and many other scientific subjects in the bible. Most of the early scientists believed in God men like Newton, Copernicus,Kepler, Boyle, Faraday, Kelvin, Planck. They believed that a rational God created the universe using rational laws & sought to discover them and Him.
Hagion7206 7 months ago
@Hagion7206 Number one, you didn't "learn about" any of those things in the bible. After you had learned about them elsewhere, you went back and tried to make things fit with scripture. Number two, the key to your statement is EARLY scientists. It is called "god of the gaps." Early scientists once believed in alchemy and leeching as a medical procudure, but no more. Your "argument from authority" falls apart when you consider 93% of the Academy of Sciences do not believe in any god. Major FAIL.
TheOracle1956 7 months ago
@TheOracle1956 And you are absolutely wrong and your 93% is pure rectal extrapolation. I have a list of more 700 scientists from all over the world who in 2008 signed a declaration od skepticism concerning Darwinian theory. Also, I've never read of any "scientist" who believed in alchemy. You guys all use the same smoke and mirrors to impress those who are disinclined to think for themselves. You are people of very dark hearts and minds.
Hagion7206 7 months ago
@Hagion7206 93% is accurate and I can provide you with the methodology if you'd like. Keep in mind this study was restricted to the elite scientific community, not crackpots like Kent Hovind with fake PhDs. Your list is probably the discredited one produced by the Discovery Institute. Nearly every scientific society, representing 100s of thousands of scientists, has issued statements disputing your claim and a petition supporting evolutionary biology was endorsed by 72 US Nobel Prize winners.
TheOracle1956 7 months ago
In the 21st century men actually devolved to the point that they believe that 1st there was nothing & 2nd it exploded. The explosion of nothing created the period table of elements which over a convenient, though un-provable, length of time became thought and sentience and self-awareness. Everything was created by nothing. Please! I have a 3 digit IQ. Darwinists are gullible and weak-minded fools at best, narcissistic monsters at worst.
Hagion7206 7 months ago
@Hagion7206 Yes, I believe it is three digit, and my guess it is 001 (or, perhaps, 666? LOL)
TheOracle1956 7 months ago
Finally, a thinking person on YouTube. You're right about sunshine...but you are wrong about God. I have had a very personal relationship with Jesus Christ since I was a teenager. And since a man with an experience is never at the mercy of man who only has an argument you will never convince me otherwise. Gos is a person who communicated with His creation and He communicates with me , and millions of others, daily. But I would happily argue any point you choose. Creationism (ID) trumps Darwin.
Hagion7206 7 months ago

Hagion7206 8 months ago
@Hagion7206 It isn't sunshine that melts ice, nor hardens cement. So, your anology is nonsense. There is no god. And it's about time you grew up, put away childish things, and joined us in the 21st century.
jymbo1969 7 months ago
@Hagion7206 Sunshine sometimes (but not always) melts ice to be sure (provided the ambient temperature is high enough), but it doesn't "harden cement," it evaporates the moisture which then allows the cement to cure. You either already knew that and set up a strawman argument which you knew was false, or you really don't know anything about how things work. Either way, you are wrong. The most religious period in human history was called the Dark Ages for a reason. Why don't you go back there?
TheOracle1956 7 months ago
I don't believe in God. I cant - for the same reason I cant believe in Big Foot. So, I'm not choosing to be "separated from God". There is no choice involved.
Even if someone told me, "you must believe in Big Foot, or else I will kill you", I would still not be able believe. I would say the words " yes I believe in Big Foot!" but it would just be me faking it.

God rewarded Abraham because God keeps His covenants - even with imperfect people who do stupid things because their life is threatened. One of the very best things about a relationship with the Living God is the ceertain knowledge that He will never give up on His people.
Hagion7206 8 months ago
@Hagion7206 Yeah, he keeps his covenants... as long as you are circumcised! Yet another riduculous biblical superstition to laugh at alongside animal sacrifice and talking trees.
TheOracle1956 7 months ago
@TheOracle1956 Fair warning, Darwin's Dilemma is a Discovery Institute product. Why these guys can never put it in a paper for peer review, I don't know. Oh wait, it's because it's nonsense. There are several extensive papers available that crush it's ideas.
milesalpha1 7 months ago
@milesalpha1 Yes, of course it is nonsense. What I would like to see is Kent Hovind or some other prominent New Earth Creationist submit a paper to a reputable scientific journal for peer review in which he lays out the case for the Hovind "ice meteor" Theory. The response from real scientists would be funnier to watch than a Comedy Central special! But you know as well as I do they have no interest in truth. Their only concern is the perpetuation of myths for personal gain and/or comfort.
TheOracle1956 7 months ago
Allah is not the God of Abraham. Isaac and Jacob worshipped another way. Allah is in fact the antithesis of everything Jewish and Christian. God is pure love, Allah is pure hatred. He is like Obama...a charlatan who is unqualified. Come to Texas, I'll intro you to hundreds of men named Jesus, none of whom died for your sin and rose from the dead. Using the same names and terminologies as the authentic does not make the counterfeit of equal evalue.

God made of pure love who burns and tortures innocent people in extreme agony for all eternity.
drrobertoboogie97 8 months ago
@drrobertoboogie97 Well, Dr. Bob, what is apparent to me is that people of dark hearts see all things darkly. "But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!" Just like the Pharaoh you seem to miss the opportunity to see God's covenant faithfulness and love toward His own people. But then cosmology determines everything.
Hagion7206 7 months ago
@Hagion7206

2. God doesn't force anyone to do anything. You're either for him or against him.
3. Right. There is no free will in Heaven. Also no pain, no death. Only a will to live righteously with our Creator.

@businessman98 You're completely and utterly deluded. There is no heaven or hell and there is no god.

He did not. It's all bullshit.

@resignator I think if God really wanted to respect our free will and give us options the choices would be a bit more like:
A) Spend an eternity worshiping God
B) Burn in hell for eturnity
C) Just simply die
D) Be reincarnated
E) Be reincarnated into another speices
F) Be resurected and resume your life
G) Became a ghost

"There is a hell because God respects our free will"
I'm no robot, but that does not compute.

He could have just said "Jews, Christians, and Muslims all worship the god of Abraham." That would have been a better answer in my opinion.

How exactly did Fr. Morris dodge any of these questions? He answered them 100% correct. And I'm not even Catholic!

wow, those are terrible responses. this is the guy fox news chose to represent christianity? lol!

Why bring more people onto this planet if (x)?
1. they are going to suffer
2. they will be forced to be used as a tool for evil
3. they will be victims and struggle with the oppression of being victims
4. they will inherit a curse and spread a curse
5. something will eventually destroy them if not themselves
6. pain blemishes the pleasure of living
7. there are billions of people who live on this planet already
8. it is so difficult to avoid hell and enter heaven
theelement 1 year ago
Why is the (opportunity) to enter and live in heaven (as difficult a challenge as it is) so worthy of the agony and torture we go through on earth in pursuit of it?
Why were we left with so little to the imagination of how heaven will be but we are frequently told how horrible hell will be?
