So Xclnt, tnx for sharing this!! This song is on the soundtrack to the indie film, "Modern Love is Automatic" Check YT for the SXSW trailer to the film and you'll hear it.
Great video. She is still developing her stage presence in this one. I remember buying the "Brittle Women" 7" and not knowing what to think. They are now amongst my favorite bands. I miss the drums and chaotic shows. I once saw Ida No destroy a drum set at Beerland in Austin, TX. Foreshadowing?
@SWISSCOLORVISION I've been coming back to this video over and over. Anyone who attended a show at the Fireside knows how cramped, hot and smokey it could be. This video somehow captures that feel. The color, the slight audio distortion and this epic visceral preformance. Man this rocks. Thanks for the upload.
@LocumRex Hey, thanks for the great comment! Sometimes it would be so hot it looked like the Super VHS video would be melting on the screen. The Chicago music scene was like a hick town, clannish, wary of outsiders, incestuous, and a bunch of stuck up snobs. It was a breath of fresh air every time Glass Candy rolled into town. I remember some Chicago bands on the side of the stage making fun of Candy throughout the show.
@LocumRex I am early 30's and I believe this band might be the most unique, talented, and just plain fun band I have ever seen. I mean new and different like prince was in 80's, or white strips more recently. Mabey little less then prince, but even more so then white strips imo and I love white strips. This could really be the best band of its time and its not even a full band lol.
Awesome. I liked em from day one. I still have the Subtonix/Glass Cady plit 7". They've come a long way. It's nice to see some old footage. I hope they stay sorta underground. I heard the Chromatics had a song on Nip Tuck, and it's got me worried this stuff is going to explode, but then again maybe it's exactly what people need- a little Glass Candy.
glass candy got a song in the sure to be cult hit film Bronson. Thats how i just learned of em. I'm in love with Beat Box but this old stuff is...special. :) These two have had that whole retro thing down forever eh?
@onlyaremedy78 let's hope they explode, and are able to make a living off this. There's no way to eat being underground. Especially in this free for all. Even before the internet, there was the 'used record store.' Music has always been a recyclable product. Once it was vinyl, tapes, then CD's, now it's downloads and ipods.
Most bands have to make money thru touring, and if they are lucky commercials.
Fame is fleeting, yet rent, food, health insurance are not. Best to you.
@SWISSCOLORVISION Watching this video, I can't help but think she and Iggy Pop could sing a killer duet. I know their material has evolved a lot since this, but their voices have strong similarities. Not to mention the screaming.
love makes me sick!!!!!!!!!!! i remember ida no in her nurse outfit best, reminds me of a sonic nurse. lol. i love this group. not to many people i know like them, i've spread the word ;)

Do you happen to have the lyrics for Love Love Love? They existed online at one point but are no longer available.
