Picked this game up again after like 10 years of not touching it. It has aged pretty badly but you still feel like you are watching something both incredibly silly and ludicrously badass at the same time. Still quite enjoyable if you like this sort of thing!

Have a copy of OD in my hand. This will be the second one I pass down to my son. Had to grow out of them...very hard to part with. Still remember how blowen away by this game I was back in 2002. Had to mod my PS2 just to own the first one LOL. Worth it though, got my hands on a slew of other inports cause of it.

Man, this reminds me of when Yosuhiro Nightow had a little segment in a volume of Trigun Maximum. He actually talked about how he was excited to help develop a game. It had a big picture of Grave in it.. Aw, good 'ole days. ^_^

Yeah, its true, this game really IS good. First time you play it you may think its stupid button smashing. But there is a kind of tactics and skill you need to have to even understand this game´s macanics. The destructability of the environment is omnipresent. And if you play the game first, like i did and then watch the anime series, then the series tells you how the guy became what he is. And so the game is the sequel to the series and as you see above has some good anime sequences in it.

@genretolerant The only benefit of shooting manually is if you can button mash the shoot button at a speed of 3 button presses per second and maintain it until the end of each stage. Anyone who's slower than that should probably stick to the full auto feature, which is definitely not a cheat option since you can still unlock unlockables at the end of each playthrough in both games with the feature still on, unlike actual in game cheats.

When you are holding the aim lock-on button, you can still use the run button to walk a bit faster. You just have to switch the control around so you can hold both buttons, I recommend it.

Besides, in the anime, normal guns wouldnt really affect him. Him having the shield is to keep him alive longer because he'd have to be able to die eventually because its a game.

Good points: Looks Awesome, grave is the one of coolest gunners in whole pc universe. Also game is enjoyable.

Actually his strengh comes from the shield, the gren bar on top of his red health bar, if the shield gets depleted, Grave could die easily from a few bullets.
