  • I used the laminate floor tile for side walks, and it's a great tecnique! Thanks for sharing all of the great modeling you do with us.

  • You would love my fire house it's right next the the SEPTA main line and CSX runs at night

  • Al....first off....your modeling skills are top notch....great stuff as always. Serious question though....dont you ever get tired of modeling what you see around you in real life everyday? I grew up in Chicago.....blocks from the Grand Trunk but always liked the more small town country layouts because I was sick of the city stuff......was just wondering if you ever had any ambition to do some stuff like that?

  • @nascarlurg First off, Thank you man. You make a good point and I DO NOT see any of the desert scenery I model everyday. I live where the grass and trees are green from Spring to Fall and in the winter it snows. I model the desert on the other side of the country. Far different than what I see everyday. That is exactly why I decided to model California rather than CT because if I did model here i would be real tired of it since I see it everyday.

  • Love the video

  • Do you have any how too video's on using dry wall compound for roads/streets? All I could find was video's using smooth it. Keep up the great work and best of luck in EMT school.

  • @srhisey Well I do not have a video about doing roads with Joint compound. The thing about doing it is that all you have to do is follow the same steps as I do it with Smooth-It but it is just not as loose as Smooth-It. I should do a HOW TO on it because there are additional factors and the most important one is that if you apply the J.C. on too thick it will dry and CRACK in areas. So you will have to fill in the cracks the next day then wait another day to sand. It is MUCH CHEAPER to do.

  • Big Al.Nice video i will give that try thanks.I see you are with company 17.I was with company 17 in Pa for a long time, then i went to company 10.Good luck on your EMT class.Be safe man.

  • nice video, that's awesome you're a fireman. i'm on the search and rescue team here and we do a lot of work FIRE.

  • AWESOME !! Love your work and life code !!!

  • Thanks dawg! I try to live my life as a good father & decent man. I know I am not perfect but I try very hard to GET BETTER as I age. I have many imperfections like I trust people too much and I get screwed over in so many ways for it. I am very open, friendly, enthusiastic and honest and people in all walks of life take advantage of that to use against me in some way. IN FACT, Believe it or not I have been told I am TOO enthusiastic RECENTLY. That really HURT me too. Thats not right.

  • Its awesome your drug and alcohol free Al! I know now why I enjoy you soo much. Ive been sober 5 years now and it feels great. God bless

  • Yeah man, I have NEVER EVER drank a beer or been drunk in my life! I took two shots back in 1999 for $100 because I am not a fool. People paid me $100 to take the two shots so I had to get that money man! That is the first and LAST drink I have ever had. I have NEVER tried smoking cigarettes, I have NEVER smoked Weed or did ANY other illegal drug. In fact I only took MY PRESCRIBED Pain killers after a surgery in 2003 for 2 days then stopped early. I will stay 100% clean man.

  • MonsterRailroad: Man, anyone that puts his/her life in risk to save others deserves our respect, so my admiration to you. May God be with you always! And thank you for all your help to us railroad modelers. My best wishes for this new year! Directly from Puerto Rico!!

  • Hi still glad you are still doing train stuff. When I finish High school im going to the fire academy in Columbia SC. Im also a fire explorer at my locoal FD. If its anything like the one you went to it looks fun. How long did you go to the Academy?

  • @yorktown1000 good luck on that dawg! Firefighting is ALL I wanted to do my whole life. I wanted no other career as much as this one, EXCEPT to win the lottery for $20 million dollars then to have a career building a huge layout in my huge basement. So that is my only other career interest. :)

  • Cool pics Al, Happy New Year fam. B-E-Z.

  • First in order is a big congradulations on graduating the Fire Academy. Second: Welcome to the firefighter brotherhood. Thirdly: Thanks for all the good model railroading tips on your video, they have helpped my alot. Just ignore the boneheads who always have a negative comment and you will see that they just go away. Looking forward to meeting you at the Springfield Show!

  • @harold1977oh Thank you very very much for those hating words. I appreciate the hate comments just as much , IF NOT MORE than the other comments. I appreciate your opinion too. I surely did not expect everyone to say nice things dawg. But apparently you thought you was the only who thought about talking crap. Sorry Dawg, tehre were MANY before you and there will be MANY after you too. In the meantime, Keep hating. :) Thanks dawg!

  • @MonsterRailroad Oh yes and since you think you know so much let me really school you on the REAL meaning of Fugly. Go into your parents living room, look at your mom and you will see what Fugly REALLY means. FUCKING UGLY. In that case you say FUGLY so that you do not use the swear word to emphasize how ugly someone is. Now go back and learn the slang terminology a little bit better then try again.

  • @harold1977oh o rly? what about your wife/girlfriend?

  • @harold1977oh dude...really?....why dont you go trash something else....Good job on the concrete Al.....all the years I have been wasting money on other ways...when I can go buy tiles at Menards for 99 cents....great idea bro....I love it.....gunna be using this on my streets from now on. • Nice photos Al! and yes... you do look fit and healthier, if I may say so.Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! PS. Thanks for the tip!

  • @retrainrun The tip works very good man! I promise you that. Get the Laminate tile that cost $1.08 a piece and the one that is not so "Rocky" meaning multiple leveled surface. Get the one that is fairly flat without the dips and rises on it. Then sand it lightly, paint it and BOOM! parking lot on the go!

  • Another great video, love the photos at the start! Happy new year to you also!!

  • from a current firefighter and model railroader as well (and member on trainlife), your vids are badass. Good luck on ur EMT skills too :)

if ur also on facebook, add me as a friend (firepatchcollector2009@yahoo.com

  • @lightbarcollector1 Thanks man but I am NOT on facebook. I just have no plans on using that site at this time. I was an EMT for 9 years but lost my cert by not refreshing when I had to in 2009. So I have to retake the whole class again.

  • Awesome video Al! Have a happy New Year, and i hope you and your family had a great Christmas!

  • @Tcostello105 Took just 2 hours to shoot, download the instrumentals, convert the video files, edit the video and then upload it. It was done really quickly so I like that.
