@poolrug Andy didn't throw her away, she left him due to her desire to be put under contract with Bob Dylan and his manager Al Grossman. It was her choice, but she was getting angry with Andy because he couldn't/wouldn't pay her for her parts in his movies.
God I want to argue the point that Edie is NOT LIKE PARIS HILTON but I just don't have the energy to explain how and why Paris is a fake wannabe copy of Edie. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions though so whatever.
What I've learned from the Edie craze is that there's much more to beauty than genes. Pictures of Marilyn Monroe's face look insipid to me now. Edie was so vivacious. If you regard beauty as a religious symbol, then worship on symbolic level actually makes sense. She's not going to be canonized in the near future, but David Dalton made the point that if you consider the hell she went through, her patience was commendable.
Lol..can't believe these people arguing and trying to one up each other on their intelligence. So silly! Not one of us knew her or Andy , all we can go by is what we research , all we can know is that she was a captavating, interesting, beautiful girl whom we all want to know about. It was a fascinating time. Some of us realate in some form or another, some of us are creative and curious, etc.. You people that have such hardfast opinions on 'how it was' just look a bit foolish to me.
@Redbirdgirl88 Why of course RBG88, since you weren't there you can have whatever opinion you like and you are welcome to it. Whether it is entirely wrong or not does not seem to matter...except to those of us who value facts and truths. Why idealize an anorexic commodity? Moths worship flames.
...cont'd but what happens time and time again with 'innocent' looking girls who get caught up in drugs we get a bunch of 'knights in shining armour' and people talking about her based only on her films which look to me like security cam footage.
I think Edie is a beautiful looking girl but I am inclined to agree with 5thangel. I admire some of Andy's work and the statements I interpret from some of it but give me a break with the films. he bought a used camera and filmed 8 hours of someone sleeping. For anyone who shoots 16mm you know how expensive something that that would be! If anyone else made the same movie it would only get the acclaim of the bottom of a trash bin. Edie was as a previous poster said, Warhol fodder. Cont'd...
YOU ARE ALSO A PATRONISING SELF RIGHTEOUS CUNT,WHO HAS NO RESPECT FOR OTHER PEOPLES OPINIONS,AND WHATS MORE IF YOU REALLY WERE THERE IN THE 60s IS IT NOT FAIR TO SAY THAT YOU ARE MAYBE 60-70yrs OLD(though some how i seriously doubt that is the truth) WHICH KINDA CONCERNS ME,AS YOU HAVE BEEN LOCKED INTO A BATTLE OF WORDS WITH SOMONE YOU HAVE ALLREADY LABELED AS CHILDLIKE.UR A CLAPPED OUT CHILD STALKING U-TUBE PEST. @suitsconverse Your poorly written tantrum is just so cute and quaint. Is it common for you to babble and bumble your ideas in such childish goonya? You know jack, suits. You weren't even born or an itch in your daddy's pants. It's a free country. You are free to worship and be a toe licking ultra Edie groupie if you choose. The fact FOREVER is that this interesting lady DIED because of her twisted life style, immaturity, and incessant drug use. PS - Learn how to use a keyboard properly.
@suitsconverse Comeback and debate, Child, when you get an education. Your emotionally charged drivel screams out that you failed to take your meds. YOUR opinions and half-human thoughts really don't matter or contain any value. Toke up and chill out, child dudette. Learn to use the caps key properly.
Yawn...is that...yawn... the best you have to offer from your little child mind? I keep returning because of your childish, immature ignorant email keeps showing up. How else is your DS ignorance going to be cured unless you speak to an Adult who was there? Just because - bung holer - you have a keyboard doesn't mean you have a brain. Stepping on ant minds such as yours doesnt take much time; less than a couple of hundred keystrokes. YAWN go get some cookies can go to nighty night, child.
LOL...As stated earlier, you Edie groupies see what you choose to see, just like the blind person; hear what you want to hear, like the deaf person. I have zero interest in Edie per se, her character and personna was a dime a dozen in the 60s. Your impudence is laughable as much as it is impertinent. Go get high, artist, and stare at the wall corner.
@The5thAngelRose Well, 'as stated earlier', I find it interesting that you say you've no interest in her... yet you keep coming back, taking your precious time circulating through videos OF HER. It's a little pathetic, don't you think? Oh no, of course you don't. Edie is the pathetic one here. Yea.. right... Instead you really should be examining yourself & why you're deeply concerned with people who simply don't give a fuck. Are you really getting anything out of it? Go troll elsewhere please.
@ilolly577 Edie was the enigma that exposed the rich daddy girl image for what it really was. She was driven to become independent but naive for the blow she was going to get in a man's world.
@ilolly577 Oh, I'm sorry. Were trying to say something intelligible again? Well, you failed. Why note take your Edie Toadies, go someplace, drool together and wash away your unintelligence. One other thing. Happy Christmas.
@ilolly577 If you can't take the heat, ill loly, stay out of the drug infested hookah clubs.
By your exposing the ES lies and falsehoods, you enable the Truth and Facts to surmount your fiction. Keep up the good work. Your E-Groupies need to be fed. Consider joining the 21st century. Digital drugs are better for you and less expensive, Trollette.
@Algae719 Well, my goodness Algae, even an amoeba like you should know that all true knowledge and self-awareness comes from the worship of her drugness, Edie on High. Just ask illoly if you don't believe me.
What is wrong with you? Why are you so against this one person. Whether you like her or not or agree with her celebrity or not, is it really worth going off on everyone like you are? Give it a rest, you've made your point.
@bebosafetycow1 I have nothing against Edie. As stated before, there were thousands of "Edies" in the 60s, most of whom survived. Those who didn't should not be deified and made into some false social idol forty years later. Every senseless death is a tragedy, not just hers.
Edie was simply your basic j-american princess on drugs. Stop idolizing and idealizing a person whose best moments came when the drugs were in control. She was bad wallpaper in 60's flophouse.
@The5thAngelRose Well, you obviously are interested in Edie, otherwise you wouldn't have made a point of clicking on my video and taking the time to comment. I don't really see how anyone could think that they have the merit to dictate who or what someone chooses to 'idolize', it's really none of your business. If all you can see in her is a druggie than you really don't know a thing about her at all :) Go ahead and continue the stigma that just because some turn to drugs they are of less value.
@ilolly577 NO ONE, not even you, should condone, endorse and promote lies and misrepresentations.
When people silently turn away and fail to ACT upon lies and misrepresentations, then they are defacto encouraging it. GO AHEAD, try to encourage the belief that drug induced dimentia creates some kind of spiritual enhancing consciousness. SHE KILLED HERSELF,and that wasn't because she led a clean and moral lifestyle. SHE KILLED HERSELF.
@The5thAngelRose I'm not encouraging drug use, if that's what you're implying. I make videos to tell a story and express the way I interpret things. I've created several videos about Edie because I genuinely adore her as a person. I'm not hopping on the bandwagon and associating myself w/ 60's drug addicts because drugs are 'cool.' I relate with her because I fully understand what it was inside her that made her turn to the drugs in the first place. I get her in away that you obviously don't.
@The5thAngelRose And also, the fact that you think she just -killed herself- leads me to believe that you really don't know that much about her in the first place. You can interpret it however you wish but her death wasn't a suicide. Obviously years of harsh drug use weakened her but that's not what killed her...
@ilolly577@ilolly577 You are too young and inexperienced to comprehend the point. Your BLIND loyalty isn't even admirable. Her LIFESTYLE centered on drugs is what killed her. Of course she did not die from a direct drug overdose DUHHH! You WEREN'T there, child, so stop trying to act like you know something.
