I don't get why in every interview on Barbra they have to bring up the "perfectionist" thing, like it's negative? And the interviewers always make it sound negative. I think it's positive to do the best you possibly can, and you expect others to do the same, especially if your name and reputation are at stake. She is a product to sell, and she is hardest on herself first, so that's what a perfectionist means. I'm glad she strives for perfection in her art.

She also required that two maintenance men drive out on CHRISTMAS day to cut down a fucking branch that was covering her name on a marquee. She is an absolute pig. Hiring people for the task of matching her flowers outside to her curtains inside while there are millions worldwide starving to death. I would not spit on her if she were on fire.

It has ZERO to do with the money. She just wanted to say she wrote the song, alone, and williams didn't have the guts to stand up to her, even on principle, so, she won.

I guess we've all figured it out by now. She will never become an old lady. I go WAY back to her appearance before she was even signed to a record label at the Crystal Palace in Gaslight Square in St. Louis. She was considering signing with Epic! As now, as a person she was calm, quiet speaking, thoughtful, shiningly intelligent and she wasn't some diva or outsized show biz personality. She was like, well, a Yeshiva student! I think she still is!

In April of 1964, my great Aunt Julie and I stood in line at the Wintergarten box office and purchased tickets for Funny Girl. I do remember that we paid $9 for our seats.

There she was, up there on the stage. Only 22 years old this musical genius.

What do I remember about this? Most of all her presence on the stage. I was just 20 years old, but I will remember this performance when I get to my grave.

Thank you, that is really sweet of you! So many years ago, and it is like yesterday, how well I remember that night. One of the funniest things that happened was right before she sang "People" Barbra and Syd Chaplin, who played Nicky Arnstein, were sitting outside on "Henry Street." Barbra/Fanny was trying to strike a match to light Syd/Nicky's cigarette and it took her around ten tries. The entire audience was cracking up. True story!

Streisand will always be a success because she does what very few artists do; she remains true to herself & her core sound, keeping herself even more relevant by recording with younger versions of herself...& usually showing that she's still the better of the two.:) Smart. Very smart.

I like that, on this album, she's chosen a few songs associated with late jazz great Shirley Horn, one of Streisand's-& my-favorite artists.
