@usfguy85 Compared to many other tenor players, even at the IE level of DCI, the clarity and motivic use in this solo are equal to a lot of the literature you hear played on the brass side. Yes, a majority of solos are simply fast notes, but Jackon provides amazing clarity between the drums which is almost unheard of in his predecessors.
@usfguy85 lolololol ur funny. it's music. there's plenty of tonal difference XD and sure i could listen to a good baritone play all day.. im not trying to brag but i march tenors for a drum corps after i marched baritone for the same corps. of course only a dca corps but none the less. and it's pretty difficult even with a lot of practice to be good at drumming.. especially THAT good. AND while doing extremely complicated rythms he's moving his hands around different drums. I appreciate both :)
I no I'm prob gonna get a big red thumb but that sounded terrible I'm a guitarist and same thing applys to that u can be 10x faster then John petrucci Steve vai rusty cooley put together it doesn't mean shit if they can't make the art more then just look how fast I can move my hands it has to sound good too :/ some stuff wasn't bad but I feel that it doesn't flow very well. I still give major props to this guy he musta worked hard to get as good as he is
@Cooley1 well your a "guitar player" so as a "guitar player" you can not appreciate some of the things he's doing rudiment-ally on tenors... what do you want him to play a Beethoven arrangement or something? lol... if you were a drummer you'd know what he's doing is truly amazing
@californie I do drum I do everything I guess I just have a different ear but no doubt wat he's doing is amazing I can't even see his fucking hands and I have more appreciation for this guy then anything else cause u don't just pick up drum sticks amd do shit like this it's obvious that this is his life amd he's worked very hard at it and that's always big in my book
@Cooley1 k man you post a video that you can go faster than those guys that you described. Man one thing you have to learn is you can't comment on what you don't know and drums is one of those things you don't know so just so you know, Tim Jackson is by far the best quad player around and only one compares to him and he was on cavies. So watch what you say next time.
@crazydrummertcir I no wat I said and I'm saying Im more of an ear then an eye u shouldn't have to major in tenor to say this is owsome I have no doubt he's amazing but wat r they really judging speed and complication? It doesn't go in my book
my percussion teacher always tells me there is no limit to music, now that I saw this video it makes me think there is and the limit is Tim Jackson, I mean seriously you can't possibly get any higher than this.
moooseek please :)
