in my opinion "robotech" is about the worst foreign rip off of a japanese anime seires that i have ever incountered (and considering all the anime i've seen thats quite an accivement) "sdf macross" is without question like "mobile suit gundam" (which was only launched three years earlier) a anime legend which paved the way for a great many likeminded seires, ("mobile battleship nadesico" for example)

Just Watched Macross from SDF to Frontier. What a great series. I just started watching Robotech. I realize the first season is nearly Identical but I like Macross much better. It's the little things like the opening. IMO, the Macross opening is far superior to Robotech. I have a feeling the entire Roboteck will not be as good as Macross, though I hope it will still be decent.
Well, it hasn't been officially confirmed, but rumors say that there will be a remastered version of Macross TVA in 2012 to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the series. It will be likely commemorating the 30 years of Macross TVA and the year that the Megaroad 01 left planet earth and started the human colonization. It is just a rumor spreading among fans, but the first clue is the manga Macross the First so I think these rumors might be possible. (=

@RaddSpencer It's not just that, but Big West has decided that Macross is a profitable franchise, which they made the pricing to license future Macross series too expensive for the anime companies outside of Japan to pick up. It's the fault of both sides that we haven't had any new Macross dubbed, and after watching the dub of the ADV Macross, that's probably a good thing.

To my knowledge no company has stated they tried to license the series but found Big West demanding too much money. HG's interference has already halted toy releases and a manga release that were set to go.

From the information i got from MacrossWorld, this is just a promotional video for the Macross pachinko game. Though it would be great if this animation becomes a remake of SDF Macross.

They already made a remastered version of Macross, it was first released in America by AnimEIGO, and then re-released by ADV as the redubbed Macross.

I figure if Studio Nue and Big West were calling the shots, Robotech would have been better.
And when is the rest of Macross coming stateside! This is annoying beyond control!
