@MrBobTomato According to CLG Wiki, PBS officially stopped using that logo on September 5, 1999. However, some PBS stations/networks like UNC-TV (my statewide PBS network) continued to use it on older programs until late 2001.

Search for "Arthur original opening" and you'll see the 1993, not the '96 variant of this logo.

This scared the crap outta me when I was a kid but strangely I learned to live with it. Which was when PBS Kids made the big switch from PTV Park to Dot and Dash.

I saw this as a kid after an episode of Arthur ten years ago. I only saw it once, and it was probably incredibly scary just because that was the first time I saw it, I wasn't expecting it, and it never happened again.

i recorded the same logo in 1997 taken from the end of sesame street. it also included the funding credits from 1995-1998 and a couple of promos of PBS PTV (i don't know its full name) which included various p-pals. all in good quality.

no. and when i recorded the logo, the 1997 Children's Television Workshop logo did not follow the funding credits.
