Plus, as far as metalcore drummers go, there aren't many who are on his level. I'd say Ben Koller from converge, branden morgan from mis sigs, and blake richardson from BTBAM are better or at least as good.

chris adler is better compared to him and he offers tecnical parts in his playing i notece that when matt goes into a tecnical bass pedal part all he does is mash one of the cymbles and throw in a snare or two and a different time signture with his feet alot of drummers do this in their type of music and the best example i can give you is Now u got something to die for listen/watch chris play it and youll see that the stuff mat plays is not as hard compared to chris but thats just what i think

I don't totally agree this... Adler is good but ffs he's not God! A bit overrated tho... Matt is great too. I just think that some of the extreme metal drummers is the best, Derek Roddy (Mr. Obsidian), George Kollias (GKdrummer) or maybe someone else. They have AWESOME technique and speed and endurance. Check them out and there's some crazy drumming. Just don't get me wrong, I like Chris and Matt very much too!

i think chris adler is very good at holding back from doing crazy double bass combo fills 24/7..something alot of metal drummers feel they need to. so in that way he is veryy musical but modest. but i still think hes overrated. matt on the other hand adds many fills AND he does it very musically; he follows the guitar at many times. so i think matts better

Just because someone like Portnoy, or Peart, and whoever else you can name play more complicated music, and show their talent more, does not make them better drummers.

You can't sit here and argue about which drummers are better. Matt is a great drummer and there are better but every single drummer brings something different to the tabel. in the end it comes down to your personal opinion and what you like in a drummer. some of my favorites are travis smith,joey joridson,matt greiner,chad smith,chris addler,justin fowley,jordan mancino,dave mcclain,alex rodriquez,scott philips,vinnie paul,john bonham,and mark from Neocracy. Each is incredible in ther own way.
