Not necessarily. I think Peta doesn;t understand the pitbulls nature and instincts, and forgets about the origin of the breed. It's hypocricy yes to say two dogs can't fight even if they're willing, but if a greyhound gets loose and kills a small mammal they say 'good dog, it's following it's instinct'. We shouldn't forget we accepted the pitbull into our homes along time ago, and it is the most loving dog out there (to humans that is).
However I don't condone the ancient rules of dogfighting in any way. I would see myself accepting the sport if only dogs were scratched that WANT to fight, not scratch dogs that are made to fight. If a dog doesn't want to give it someone who will love it as a pet, and not just cull it or have it mauled to death by the other bulldog. We have modern technology (and even if we didn't), so we can keep registering the gamedogs for their wins, losses, titles etc. in this way ability is preserved too.

I doubt anybody writting books during the 1930s had anymore an idea of the Pit Bull's family tree than someone writting in the 70s or 80s. If you feel differently, great, but atleast mention the book that proves it.

Not necessarily. I think Peta doesn;t understand the pitbulls nature and instincts, and forgets about the origin of the breed. It's hypocricy yes to say two dogs can't fight even if they're willing, but if a greyhound gets loose and kills a small mammal they say 'good dog, it's following it's instinct'. However I don't condone the ancient rules of dogfighting in any way. I would see myself accepting the sport if only dogs were scratched that WANT to fight, not scratch dogs that are made to fight. If a dog doesn't want to give it someone who will love it as a pet, and not just cull it or have it mauled to death by the other bulldog. We have modern technology (and even if we didn't), so we can keep registering the gamedogs for their wins, losses, titles etc. in this way ability is preserved too.
