These parents are not overly involved. What parent doesn't want their child to succeed? These parents are far better than parents who use the television as a baby sitter. These kids are getting physical exercise and are involved in competition. Competition is life, especially when you are an adult and trying earn a living. These are good lessons they are learning.
I think playing little league has nothing to do with them achieving at a higher level...little league is designed to teach you fundamentals..these coaches had no idea what they were talking about...throw smoother? what??
My point is that most of the kids and parents from this team contine to lead very successful lives, and many of the kids have gone on to play college and pro ball. When this group graduated from Aptos High School in 2008, many or most of the team also carried 4.0+ GPAs. I guess I would characterize these parents as "caring and involved" instead of "idiots." But we can certainly agree to disagree.
In any case, you sound like a quality individual. Good luck with the couch! : )
@johnnyjr2345 u are the biggest douche in the world. first off it takes a lot of talent. and ur gonna beat up on these little 12 year old playing a sport they love? Ur ass of the year award is in the mail
But perhaps the other can be worse, a parent that never once comes to see you play, or never takes you to practice, or never has never given you a couple of bucks so you can have a hotdog after the game.
Seeing other kids parents, at these events, always was hard to see for me.
I'm SO happy my parents weren't like that when I did little league. They supported me and came to my games and all, but didn't get all crazy. It's fucking little league, not the world series.
This team sucks its fucking little league lol my 9 and 10 year old competitive team would have kicked the shit out of this team....Little League Player SUCK!!!!!
Might I also add that most of these players will never compete past this level. Most of your advanced players at this age are playing tournament (travel) ball where the basepaths are 10 feet further, the mound is 4 feet further, and the competition stiffer. When these young players turn 13 they will suddenly find themselves on 90 ft basepaths (not 60) and with a mound distance of 60 ft (not 46), so lets keep that in mind and not try to live vicariously through them.
Only 1 in 16,000 young players will ever sign a professional contract of ANY kind (to include the minors) so the likelyhood of any of these players ever turning pro is minimal at best. Having played at the professional level I congratulate your father on his career, but you young man must learn to control your temper. Lashing out at others with foul language will be a sure way for you to always live in your fathers shadow. (If he is actually your father). Stay positive and skip the drama.
This pretty much sums up what is wrong in youth sports. Parents trying to relive their youth thru their kids and putting way too much pressure on them to succeed. The kids look like the weight of the world is on their shoulders. Very sad.
Read up on the careers of parent/singer Mark Eichorn (20+ years of professional baseball and two World Series rings), and players Kevin Eichhorn, Kyle Anderson, and Bobby Crocker, all of whom received D1 baseball scholarships. Kevin and Bobby are now in pro ball. Beau Frasier is also doing well at the University of Portland.
@MikeinSoquel What's your point? Majority of these kids whether travel or rec ball will never sniff the high school level let alone Division 1 or the pros. Listen to what the 12 year old says when talking about over-involved parents starting at 6:15. My daughter was on the University of Kentucky swim team, could have played volleyball or basketball, but chose swimming because she didn't have to listen to the crap spewing from the mouths of idiot parents! By the way asshole, my couch is fine.
Looks to me like there are a lot of grown ups living thru their kids-----let em just play and have fun thats what Little League is suppose to be about
Wow that kids mom is a fucking stroke. First of all parents shouldnt be caring this much, they should be glad their kid is playing. Second of all even if you do care your kid has a 6 point lead your not that good if you give up more than 3 runs in an inning. i hate these stuck up travel league parents, i played house league my whole life and im still better than half of those kids, i hate that just because of their money they think theyre good, their not, theyre shit.
kyle, kyle, kyle....whooze it out....kyle, kyle, kyle.....much better....kyle, kyle....that was smoother....kyle, kyle...good spot.........lol, 2 dumbass coaches won't shut the eff up and let the kid play!
I hope these parents one day figure out that this is all there shallow egos and noting more. What an absolute shame. That women in the kitchen cohersing answers out of that kid, but she will defend it to the end. Let the parents suit up and try to play.
Little league is slaw anyway, if parents really wanted to give a crap about their kids future, they would play on a real team that traveled, my USSSA team when I was 12 was not good compared to our competition, but we would have drug any team in little league. At 12, USSSA teams are playing on high school fields, not that 200ft. crap.
Overinvolved? If the parents really cared, they wouldn't put their kids in Little League. They would be playing in real organizations like AAU, CABA, USSAA or SuperSeries. Little League is a joke.

Wow... Flashbacks! I coached both my son's little league teams until high school. The kids were awesome, the parents were always the hardest part. The parents seem to forget they're just kids and every parent thought their "little Johnny" was a star even if "little Johnny" couldn't catch a ball if you handed it to him...
@fortress1133 Here's my story. about 9 years ago, my son was playing in the state finals in Florida. On an elimination game, the score was tied 4-4 in the 7th and last inning. We were home team, the other team was batting and the bases were loaded. My son came in to pitch and he was really struggling with his control. Eventually, he was able to retire two players. Game still tied. The next kid came in to hit, and with a 0-2 count, my son pitch a curve ball which felt short of the home plate...
@fortress1133 ...cont...by about 2 foots. The ball took a weird bounce and hit the kid on his toe, barely. What happened next?? YEs, the kid charged the mound. My son has been taking Jiujitsu and Kung Fu since he was 4 years old, so he knew very well how to defend himself. So, when the kid got to my son, my son put taht kid on a trianlge shoke and left the kid unconsious. Teh next thing that happened, the kids parents and uncles (I assume) charged the mound also. By that time, me and many...
@fortress1133 ...cont...other parents of our team have also gone to the field to avoid a huge brawl. The next thin that happened is that the kids father suit me and my son. We spent the next 6 months in courtrooms, until the judge said...case closed. After that, I told my kid to quit baseball and concentrate on his studies. He never played baseball again, and recently he was admitted to MEdical School.
Man this is tame compared to my 12 year old all star little leauge time. I see nothing but loving parents who are nervous for their kids. My parents were cool but man I felt sorry for some of my teammates.
The annoying is the blond with the sun glasses that literally craps her pants after the HR. Then after the game she starts giving her son hitting tips. He's like, "Yea, let's see your (crap-filled) ass get out there and show us all how to do it.
Hey Coach, why don't you tell the pitcher 6000 things to do and not do between pitches. That'll keep him calm enough to pitch.
When I played 3 years in Little League, my team won district one year, 2nd place the next year, then state the last year. Yet I mostly remember never playing more than 4 innings because I wasn't good enough, the coach being high-strung, and my dad not being able to handle anything.
jeese, my teams star pitcher whos 12 and throws 60 miles per hour and jacked the ball to the outfield and only struck out 3 times i think. but his grandparents r wer so bad to him and yelling at him when he didnt throw a strike or didnt hit it hard enough. plus they were asses to everyone. they allways complained and yelled at the ump nd this was 2 years ago fyi
Tyler's mother (the blond) appears to be emotionally unstable. There's no reason to be shaking and that anxious in the stands over a little league baseball game. Change your dose & frequence lady; your son will thank you for it.

But winning is everything, right??

jeese, my teams star pitcher whos 12 and throws 60 miles per hour and jacked the ball to the outfield and only struck out 3 times i think. but his grandparents r wer so bad to him and yelling at him when he didnt throw a strike or didnt hit it hard enough. plus they were asses to everyone. they allways complained and yelled at the ump nd this was 2 years ago fyi

Tyler's mother (the blond) appears to be emotionally unstable. There's no reason to be shaking and that anxious in the stands over a little league baseball game. Change your dose & frequence lady; your son will thank you for it.
