I was going to make a comment about the 3 people who disliked this video being those who got beat against this guy but even more important...why aren't there any combos with Rolling Izuna Drop ?
I think calling this video "nice" is very simple. You can realise how insane, almost impossible, these combos are if you play Vega. I would like shoto guys to try these :D
Autoblock was used for everything except the meaty combos (when the opponent gets hit as they get up). The combo counter is shown after each combo anyway for proof. To link cr.MK into cr.MK, you must turn on "COUNTERHIT". Counterhits occur when you hit the opponent out of their move on startup, and grants extra hitstun aka comboability. Counterhits give you +1 hitstun for light normals and +3 for all other attacks (only on the first hit).
Hey guys i just started to use vega and this question will sound noobie, but when i do his flying barcelona attack, i try to get the ex to hit but instead he just jumps back instead of forward. How do i make him do his ex flying barcelona attack to strike forwards everytime? Thanks!
You complete the command for ex.FBA before the cr.MP is even close to finished. cr.MP is a "normal move" and ex.FBA is a "special move". Many normal moves are able to "cancel" into special moves - this means you can interrupt them in the middle with a special move. A "link" is a different kind of combo where you need to wait for the normal move to finish completely. hope this helps, good luck
@M2clips That standing hard punch link to cr. MP to ex FBA is great, I suppose to execute it you have to start holding back once the first slash from st. hard punch comes out, then link to cr. MP then immediately do the command for ex FBA to cancel it?
Best combo video I've seen for Vega ever. Vega may be low tier but he's got interesting moves. Thing is, he has the worst wake up game ever. If a character jumps in on Vega after a knockdown, Vega HAS to block correctly [fake cross-up and real cross-up] because he has no anti air or wake up options. Even if you were to backdash/backflip, those smart enough would do an option select and you'd be punished.
@Zimx02 There was autocorrect before, I had hoped for Ver. 2012 to give Vega's EX Scarlet Terror more invincibility frames. I don't think Vega's are appreciated as much as others. Just sayin'
@DeathsBallad I obtained AE and you're completely right. His wake-up is awful regardless of auto-correct. I was reading the list of updates for AE 2012 and there is no mention of invincibility frames though.
@Zimx02 Yeah, but stick with it if you can. Back when I was a beginner and amateur I would still get beat down easily, with more experience you will definitely get better. Vega isn't as bad as I used to think. One tip, practise the timings for his combos and you'll almost never miss. Remember to use all his tools at the right time. Best of luck to all new Vegas out there. If anyone wants to hit me up, I'm on PSN - just ask for my username.
vega is my main but it sucks that we have a poor wakeup game... no shoryuken or sth like that, our scarlet terror gets reversaled by nearly every cross-up move of ryu, sakura, etc. has anyone of you an idea what to do against jumping-over opponents? i mean this cross-up bullshit. vega does not even have an option to cross up simply.we need to to FBA which can be blocked AND punished quite easily :-( where are long-vega-combos like sakura,seth,akuma? vega is too weak if opponent is a good Player
@eyworld no wait I mean do the one back-flip then focus cancel backdash then you can cosmic heel into scarlet terror if there not blocking or if they are throw them.
If capcom would ease up on his links and make them 2 frames a hand full of these combo's would be pratical during in game play. Doubt it'll ever happen tho they to busy sucking the dicks of shoto fans, good sh!t tho man!
Yes, hold MP+MK and press forward-forward (this is the FADC) right BEFORE the last hit of the RollingCrystalFlash. This is the best time to do it because it makes the FADC come out on the first frame possible and gives you extra time to charge while the FADC is coming out. After the FADC, you have a one-frame window to land a 4-frame move. You can do cr.LP to start the next part of the combo or plink a st.HK which is a little easier. The timing is weird and VERY strict.
No tricks, you just have to practice buffering the charge. What I mean is, the instant you press df.HK for the CosmicHeel, you immediately need to start charging downback before your foot even hits the guy. Then, just before they hit the ground, unleash the ScarletTerror. It's a little weird to get used to, but over time it will become easier and easier until you almost never miss. It is one of the best punishing combos from the ground (no jump-in needed), and you will use it a lot.
Its all possible on either. There is an input technique called "priority-linking" or "plinking" which is when you press 2 buttons a 60th of a second apart. Vega benefits from doing this with his HK (for kara throws and FADC enders) and MP (for easier timing of his jab combos). If you have a fightstick its pretty straight-forward but on a controller it becomes very hard unless you map those buttons to the shoulder buttons. I didn't put MP on a shoulder button so I cant plink it.
@M2clips Wait. I don't get what you mean. How does plinking MP help with jab combos? ... I only use it for kara throwing...
BTW ... I am maining Vega and I am trying to only use the PS3 pad because I don't know anyone who uses sticks etc. so bringing my own equipment would be considered cheating by my friends ... :)
cr.LP, cr.MP : this is a one frame link, you can plink by pressing cr.LP, cr.MP~cr.LP in order to give you a second chance to hit the link (in the case that you hit MP a frame too early, it will come out again since the system will register thesecond cr.LP as cr.LP+cr.MP - which doesn't do anything so the higher-priority cr.MP will come out again). This makes the powerful combo "cr.LP, cr.MP xx EX.FBA" more reliable - but I just do it the regular way
@M2clips Ah OK ... Thx for clearing that up. This game has so many weird technicalities... I will probably continue just doing it the normal way... I prefer ST over FBA in general anyway because EX.FBA somtimes comes out going to the opposite direction when I try to combo it ... probably because of the way my thumb works ... lol ... I usually build my game around ST, RCF, st.HK and a lot of throws :) ... I spend almost all my meter on EX.ST ...
As soon as the focus attack starts to unleash (either you let go of MP+MK or it starts attacking on its own at level 3), you can dash DURING Vega's attack, and you can immediately begin charging. The result is that you start holding downback before Vega even looks like he is dashing forward. So, by the time Vega is ready to follow up the FA, you already have the charge ready to go for the ultra 1 (forward flying) or other move.
Thanks for the great video : ) I started Vega about 2 days ago (my first charge character) and I've been having trouble keeping the charge after a dash in and/or df-HK, (such as 2:13) any advice? Thanks again =]
@MasterBitting the way you do the that or at least i do is i input the cosmic heel (launcher kick Df-hk) then i immediatly pull my joystick to the db position then you wait a little don't get to anxious thinking it wont it because trust me you have a lot of time then input the scarlet terror. or if you wanted you could hold the df until your charge then slide your stick to the Down position and input it from there but i think way one is much easier Imo and on the dash charge
@MasterBitting he doesn't maintain in he either A rebuilds it through minor combos or B exploits the 2 second motion hold in the system. if you have ever seen someone playing a charge character then they ultra a focus crumple and it comes out really fast it's because they input the dash early and after they input the dash which will come out after the hit they are holding DB the whole time same principle for any other charge move. Focus>inpu

In this video almost always I am just rebuilding the charge really fast. For example, as soon as I jump, as soon as the df.HK starts, or as soon as the dash starts, I am already charging. The only time you see me do a charge breaking move and then a charge move without me re-charging, is when I do a standing move after a jump-in and then immediately a scarlet terror. All other times its just snapping to down-back as soon as possible. Hope this helps too!
@M2clips Oh man I'm going straight to training mode after this hahaha. I'm so glad I started playing Vega, and I love the internet for making it possible to get in contact with other players and make my game better. I almost picked off a 9000 bp Balrog the other night in endless after I had been playing Vega for about for a day or two, and now I'm going to be even better than before =]
Thanks so much to the both of you for your help and advice, and thank you so much for posting this video.
hey,im having alot of trouble with the jump in hard kick/punch into standing hard punch to hard rollin attack,i can do it from a crouching position but on a jump in it jus doesnt come out,hope you got some advice thx appreciate it
The timing is tricky, but with practice it gets easier faster than some of the other combos in this vid. The first thing that helps is to be able to hold back and begin charging the instant you jump forward off the ground. Vega's trial 15 is also very similar to this combo (the jump-in to standing MK to LP-RCF). For me, it was just awkward getting used to using HP like that, especially because I rarely use HP-RCF. As long as you can get it SOMETIMES, you're doing good - keep at it.
@M2clips omg im a fucken idiot i never thought about holdin back immediately after i jump that's the reason why that fucker would never come out now i can combo into it like iv been doin it for years lol,fucken thanks man
@M2clips@M2clips I wanted to know for your jump hp>standing mk> scarlet terror are you using the same technique as when people use standing move to izuna for example st lp to izuna. when do you begin to hold down on the ex barcelona (single hit)> scarlet terror every time i start holding down back i drift to far
@venomousleif the easiest way to do it in my opinion is think of it lk the trial where you had to do jump in hk>st mk> L rcf. it is practically the exact same. as for the timing piece input your high medium or ex rcf directly after the first hit you can't cancel the second hit into it but always remember man the beauty of Vega is he has so many combos for many of his moves so lets say you mess up the timing you have a chance after the second hit to combo into c mp>ex barcelona>izuna
@venomousleif no problem man and another thing is on block a lot of people tend to attack directly after the last hit you can you c cmp or st hk for a frame trap but remember this is on block only
Is it possible to perform EX-Flying Barcelona Attack DOUBLE slash in the middle of the screen? (not only if the enemy is in the corner) if so, how? it would come in handy for those Focus spammers..
Yup. EX-FBA and get close enough to do an izuna drop. Leave the stick in a completely neutral position while doing that and just push punch once like a normal claw swipe. 2 hits
@M2clips great video man my question to you now is can I ex barcelona in corner get both hits (in air) and still Ex scarlet terror or must i just take the one?
Represent vega well. not that many of us. But how the hell did you do that 100 hit stab bs on zangief? ive completed all vegas trials and ranked him to like 20 in US about 4 months ago but cant do that freakin combo for nothing. tips? O and there is one combo i havent seen done yet. Basically once you get your enemy to the ground, round house kick around his ugly body then as hes getting up your BHC smackes his ass as a crossover.
6 jabs (and a cr.MP) will connect in a row on Zangief after an FADC and only if he is crouching. Remember that cl.HP forces your opponent to stand, so you have to use a different move like cl.MK and combo into MP.RCF
noob question here... what is the proper fast way to do his 1st ultra..? i can do it.. but most of the time i mess up.. it always go backward/forward randomly... -_-
Sorry for the late response. It's a matter of charging as soon as you jump - like really snap that sucker back lightning quick. Don't attack on the way down until you are deep - as late as possible. Attack with j.HP or j.HK, whichever is more comfortable. You have to input the ultra quickly so you don't waste charging time by taking long to complete the input. I think you have a split second of leeway to let the opponent reel back after hitting them, so you can charge longer.
And the typical way people do it is holding down-back, snapping to down-forward, and then rolling the stick down and all the way back to up before hitting KKK. You can also try inputting it as if you were doing the ultra2 - it often works!
@Tinnguyen123 Practice in training the motion. Then once you get it pick someone like ryu and the use the record function to make them throw fireballs start with the LP fireball version because it is slower then once you can hit that consistently go up to the MP then HP then EX and just keep gradually increasing the speed and also decrease the distance between you and the character throwing the fireballs giving yourself less time to buffer the motion eventually you will be able to do it fast
@Tinnguyen123 as for U2 it can be used as anti air, to people playing the focus game because it will catch their dash, going under fireballs is great, and another way is to scuff meaty ultras on your wake or just ultras used in you face you can be a lot of them
Hey at 4:17.. how do you do that move.. Vega can do the same move using just EX too i think but it hits 2x or something like that.... but i can never figure out how to do it.. is there a button you can press to make him hit 2x instead of the grab/single slash..?
@Tinnguyen123 Just press any punch with no directional input at .6 range after EX wall hit ... same for super ... I am feeling nerdy for knowing so many things about SF
question is their less charge time for scarlet terror than RCF? because i can never get j Hp>st. HP>HP RCF off, but it's easier for me to get a scarlet terror combo off from a jump in.
The last hit of the super comes out automatically, and it normally will only juggle vs THawk... sometimes. No extra button presses are needed. However, the timing of when it comes out is still variable and weird. If you start the super claw right on the opponent, there is a significant delay on the last hit and it will often miss or fail to come out before you hit the ground. If you activate the super and let the hitbox glide into the opponent the last hit will come out faster and hit.
This is seriously my favourite SF4 video ever. I was a bit down on Claw, but this has inspired me to work extra hard on my links. I printed off the annotations on Shoryuken, and will work to make sure I can do every single combo 5/5 times!
5/5 is bit much for the harder ones - try and find what ones seem the most practical and use those the most. Trying to do the tricky ones will improve your execution - but if it seems overly hard it probably is. Also in those notes sometimes I use "cl." (close) and "st." (standing) interchangeably, and at times "ch" might mean "counterhit" or "cosmic heel" (which is also "df.hk"). Haha sorry hope its not too confusing to read. I'll have better annotations up on Sunday.
It's a lot easier as an anti-air (trial #24), but it's possible. You have to start charging immediately after cosmic heel begins to activate. You have to hit at the very tip, and input the ultra very fast, or there isn't enough time.
I love how he put ALL of vega's combo's in one video... had a couple of "O.o can he really do that!?!?!" moments.. but i enjoyed it. and lol at the fact you make the 1 and 2 frame combo's look easy.
Im a Gen Player..sub vega...You make me wanna main him...Awsome seclection of music...this Is a combo video BEYOND EPIC!! The last Vega Remixed Beat was so on point LOL you dont even know man..Im subbin..Check my channel out if u get a chnace
I was trading the ex-walldive with Ryu's standing medium kick. Blocking his standing medium punch first set up the timing right for both characters to immediately activate their moves.
you have to put the FADC completely in between the last hit and the second-to last hit of the roll. This lets it come out immediately. The next hit is a 1-frame link - the easiest way to hit it is to priority-link a st.hk.
that last song motivates me to do my homework for some reason lol

hey,im having alot of trouble with the jump in hard kick/punch into standing hard punch to hard rollin attack,i can do it from a crouching position but on a jump in it jus doesnt come out,hope you got some advice thx appreciate it
venomousleif 11 months ago
@venomousleif
M2clips 11 months ago
@M2clips omg im a fucken idiot i never thought about holdin back immediately after i jump that's the reason why that fucker would never come out now i can combo into it like iv been doin it for years lol,fucken thanks man
venomousleif 11 months ago
@M2clips @M2clips I wanted to know for your jump hp>standing mk> scarlet terror are you using the same technique as when people use standing move to izuna for example st lp to izuna. when do you begin to hold down on the ex barcelona (single hit)> scarlet terror every time i start holding down back i drift to far
TheCrimsonFlames 11 months ago
@venomousleif the easiest way to do it in my opinion is think of it lk the trial where you had to do jump in hk>st mk> L rcf. it is practically the exact same. as for the timing piece input your high medium or ex rcf directly after the first hit you can't cancel the second hit into it but always remember man the beauty of Vega is he has so many combos for many of his moves so lets say you mess up the timing you have a chance after the second hit to combo into c mp>ex barcelona>izuna
TheCrimsonFlames 11 months ago
@TheCrimsonFlames i finally got the timing down,thx really appreciate the hellp ima try your other combos online thx again
venomousleif 11 months ago
@venomousleif no problem man and another thing is on block a lot of people tend to attack directly after the last hit you can you c cmp or st hk for a frame trap but remember this is on block only

Is it possible to perform EX-Flying Barcelona Attack DOUBLE slash in the middle of the screen? (not only if the enemy is in the corner) if so, how? it would come in handy for those Focus spammers..
bawitback 1 year ago
@bawitback
Yup. EX-FBA and get close enough to do an izuna drop. Leave the stick in a completely neutral position while doing that and just push punch once like a normal claw swipe. 2 hits
M2clips 1 year ago 3
@M2clips great video man my question to you now is can I ex barcelona in corner get both hits (in air) and still Ex scarlet terror or must i just take the one?
TeamSuckerPunch1 1 year ago
@bawitback yeah Just be directly above your opponent and let em have it bro. also you can be slightly in torso range but don't push your luck

OMG!! I still have alot to learn.

Lilmjj1232 1 year ago
@Lilmjj1232
6 jabs (and a cr.MP) will connect in a row on Zangief after an FADC and only if he is crouching. Remember that cl.HP forces your opponent to stand, so you have to use a different move like cl.MK and combo into MP.RCF
M2clips 1 year ago
noob question here... what is the proper fast way to do his 1st ultra..? i can do it.. but most of the time i mess up.. it always go backward/forward randomly... -_-
also so, 2nd ultra is used best for Anti-air..?
Tinnguyen123 1 year ago
@Tinnguyen123
M2clips 1 year ago
@Tinnguyen123
And the typical way people do it is holding down-back, snapping to down-forward, and then rolling the stick down and all the way back to up before hitting KKK. You can also try inputting it as if you were doing the ultra2 - it often works!
M2clips 1 year ago
@Tinnguyen123 Practice in training the motion. Then once you get it pick someone like ryu and the use the record function to make them throw fireballs start with the LP fireball version because it is slower then once you can hit that consistently go up to the MP then HP then EX and just keep gradually increasing the speed and also decrease the distance between you and the character throwing the fireballs giving yourself less time to buffer the motion eventually you will be able to do it fast
TeamSuckerPunch1 1 year ago
@Tinnguyen123 as for U2 it can be used as anti air, to people playing the focus game because it will catch their dash, going under fireballs is great, and another way is to scuff meaty ultras on your wake or just ultras used in you face you can be a lot of them
TeamSuckerPunch1 1 year ago
I wish Capcom put in trials like the combos you did. Then everyone would be killers_^)
Toomnyusernae 1 year ago
Hey at 4:17.. how do you do that move.. Vega can do the same move using just EX too i think but it hits 2x or something like that.... but i can never figure out how to do it.. is there a button you can press to make him hit 2x instead of the grab/single slash..?
Tinnguyen123 1 year ago
@Tinnguyen123 Just press any punch with no directional input at .6 range after EX wall hit ... same for super ... I am feeling nerdy for knowing so many things about SF
GoldenerFoetus 1 year ago
Absolutely amazing! Those FADC rolls and jab links are a nightmare for me!
KujoJotar0 1 year ago
question is their less charge time for scarlet terror than RCF? because i can never get j Hp>st. HP>HP RCF off, but it's easier for me to get a scarlet terror combo off from a jump in.
kinome23 1 year ago
@kinome23
Yes, charge time for Scarlet Terror and walldive is 42 frames (42 60ths of a second), and charge time for RCF is a full second (60 frames).
M2clips 1 year ago
Nice combos ! how do you release the last hit of his super at 9:27?
BBoyA2A 1 year ago
@BBoyA2A
The last hit of the super comes out automatically, and it normally will only juggle vs THawk...

I printed off the annotations on Shoryuken, and will work to make sure I can do every single combo 5/5 times!
littlebigidea 1 year ago
@littlebigidea
I'll have better annotations up on Sunday.

can you combo Cr. MP into Ultra I?
sanojonathan 1 year ago
How can you link his leaping kick into the Splendid Claw? It seems you wouldn't have enough time to charge.
coodoo17 1 year ago
@coodoo17
It's a lot easier as an anti-air (trial #24), but it's possible. You have to start charging immediately after cosmic heel begins to activate. You have to hit at the very tip, and input the ultra very fast, or there isn't enough time.

Very sick. A couple things
1. What move was Vega doing for trade->Ultra 2? Cuz at first I gave up but now you proved its possible.
2. Pretty much the only combo I can think of that wasn't here was Focus Attack lv.3, Focus Attack lv.1, EX Scarlet
JsianSRK 1 year ago
@JsianSRK
I was trading the ex-walldive with Ryu's standing medium kick. Blocking his standing medium punch first set up the timing right for both characters to immediately activate their moves.

sike nahh, good video man, we gotta talk about this next time we are both online.. i need help after the fadc rolls
P3RFCT1NSAN1TY 1 year ago
@P3RFCT1NSAN1TY
you have to put the FADC completely in between the last hit and the second-to last hit of the roll. This lets it come out immediately. The next hit is a 1-frame link - the easiest way to hit it is to priority-link a st.hk.
M2clips 1 year ago
