OMG, I remember that about Greensburg. Almost a year to the day in fact, I was watching the Weather Channel and I heard there was a possible EF5 tornado on the ground near by. Luckily it went up before slamming into Greensburg. I was stunned when I heard that and I just started watching and waiting until it passed by the town I guess. We don't get thay type of weather in the Berkshires, at least not to often.
How devastating. I just watched Extreme Makeover Home Edition on ABC and a family got a house here. I hope everyone pulls together like their neighbors in Greensburg.
I'm with you on that! Chapman's a good community, they'll definitely get through this. Did you hear how Greensburg almost got hit by another EF5 last year around the time Chapman got hit? Just imagine, two EF5's in two years. That would've been horrible!
I just moved to NY when that happened. My family lives in Enterprise, i had alot of friends that lost their homes to that. I hope that everything is getting better guys!
It was an EF3 when it hit Chapman, and it never touched I70, unless you refer to the debris scattered around it? This tornado picked up before it crossed I70, went over my city (Junction City, KS), then landed back down in Manhattan, KS as an EF4. It later dissipated near Kansas State University.
Very interesting footage. It shows a close up view of the true effects of the storms. News chopper views of wide spread areas do not compare to the actual victims view of their losses
I use to live in Abilene and now live in Michigan soon as I heard what had happen I was on the phone to back home to make sure friends in Chapman were ok..I am sorry that u seem to have lost everything..I am still in shock to see Chapman that. Sorry for what you had to endure
KSNT TV online: Fund Set Up For Chapman School District. A fund has been set up in Chapman for monetary donations to help their school district rebuild after last week's devastating tornado. You can send checks to the Astra Bank in Chapman. The address is PO Box 189, Chapman, Kansas, 67431. You should make the checks payable to the USD 473 Chapman School's Tornado Relief Fund. District officials say school will begin in the fall, although in temporary locations.
WOW, Frighting! Awful, It had to be a nightmare, So sorry. We had a tornado warning here in MI tonight and heard the sirens, Thank god nothing came down. You had to freak after you looked outside.
Yeah taht viedeogamelovers my little brother. our house is salvageable. I'm just still in a state of schock over it. Schools gonna suck this year. it's just a real sad deal
We're praying for you in Michigan. Both of my sisters, my brother-in-law, my niece and two nephews are in Chapman, too. Their home was hit, but is still standing. Thank you for providing a view of what the damage was like. My heart goes out to everyone there. God Bless you.
Monetary donations can be mailed to the City of Chapman Disaster Relief Fund, c/o City of Chapman, 402 N. Marshall, Chapman, Kansas 67431, for more information call Chapman Police Department 785-922-6463
I'm so sorry about the tornado, we live right around Manhattan, but we weren't hit. What's really sad is right after the tornado blew by, people were stealing from those who had already lost everything. God bless you. I hope no one was hurt.
Omg I am praying for you guys. I was at Camp Webster for church camp and we took shelter because of it. It missed us but sadly it didn't miss you. I'm praying for you once again.
