  • sounds like the sound track from The Book Of Eli

  • I absolutely Love this guy. And he is soooo sweet, too! =-)

  • i just did Shine On outside of Melbourne with him, we got stuck in the mud together, he told me about his gig....then i saw it!! holy hell, amazing!!

  • Yes, Mike is a genius, and kind. I remember Mike from the Fabulous Hedgehogs days, Craig Crude was my BF at the time and Mike was, and is so infinitely talented. Good wishes SilverSnout:) -J.A.

  • At 3:45 when he just erupts, it's AWEsome live.

...he was a better performer than Buckethead. Seriously. ("artist" not-so-much. But "performer?" That One Guy rocked.)

  • what is the name of his instrument?

  • @sbeer6er well I don't know what its called but he invented it

  • @sbeer6er

The Magic Pipe. There's this website called "Wikipeida"...

  • @sbeer6er buttmachine.

  • Going to see this guy tomorrow!! SO PUMPED.

  • DrummerCoCa: I met Mike, extremely nice and down to earth me and my cousin got his autograph. You can tell music is his passion and he loves his fans to death.

  • at around 3:49 does anyone else hear that popping sound that sounds like when you get amessage on facebook?

  • He as sweet as he is talented and I am amazed by how personable he is .... he talked to my 15 year old twins forever. I was so impressed. ... of course I let my boys buy everything , but I like him as much as my children. He is wonderful.

  • I'm glad he's so willing to talk, I'm going to one of his shows this July and really want to meet him.

  • I caught this this gentleman in Houston, Friday night, 11/7, with Buckethead. Bought his album Saturday. Dude rocks!

  • i saw him last night! hes hilarious

  • no dudes. i saw this guy live. he has a string attached to each pipe. 2 pipes. and he has like buttons on the top and bottom of the pipes for effects. that plus double kick pedals for more effects. i love him.

  • interesting

  • How does he get a piece of pipe to sound so remarkably like a Cello?

  • its all computers dude

  • meaning its fake?

  • not meaning its fake, meaning he has knowledge of how to effectively play said instrument and can program and loop these things to near perfection on the spot as if he were in a fucking studio. the man is a genius and is severely underrated. he deserves 3 medal-shaped cookies and 12 BJs from various women without STDs.

  • This person speaks the truth...

  • artist

  • Saw him with Buckethead last night in Orlando at the Social. He rocked! Of course, so did Bucket. They played a longggg time, nearly 3 hours of music between them. It was the most fun I've had in quite a while!

  • i saw this dude in st. pete last nite!

    tight!

  • with buckethead?

  • zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

  • I just saw this guy last night and he rocked! He was also pretty funny.

  • Where did you see him?....Like neighborhood theatre?...cause i saw him there friday night

  • wow. i found that 1 guy suggested to me on emusic or itunes or some other music store 2 weeks ago. dont remember which one. i am now in awe of this series of pipes and pedals and loop machines. going to see him and buckethead this weekend!

  • At the Lincoln Theatre?

  • yea i saw them at toads place in new haven last week, both buckethead and 1 guy whaled

  • just got home from the middle east show in boston. that one guy and buckethead are both awesome musicians.

  • Yeah man. I saw them play here a couple years ago. I didn't know that TOG was playing, or really who he was. So I was super tripped out when I walked in and heard him playing.

  • This guy is a music engineer.

  • Anyone know the name of this song he plays?

  • whoa that's real??!! sounds like a computer synthasized piece...

    thats awesome!!

i might see him and buckethead on the second, if it doesnt get sold out!! that would be so awesome!!!!

  • why the hell would you call him a fucking asshole you prick? Then you completely contradict yourself by saying they fucking shred. Oh, Hey man.

  • Saw that one guy and buckethead in milwaukee last night... amazing show!

  • im going to see buckethead and this guy this thursday the 25th at first ave. cant wait

  • Hey I was there last night and left when they started playing together because I was annoyed at the collaboration. What did you think and what happened after that???

  • Bucket did some alone again, and at the end just waved goodbye, walked off the stage, a door opened in the back, and I saw a van take off. No encore.

  • I saw This guy and Buckethead at the rave on the 26th it was absolutly amazing

  • I'm going to see them Oct 9th in Philly. I can't contain myself!

  • how did he come up with this? and how did he ever get discovered by a label? it's fucking crazy

  • I was supposed to have seen him at the Evolve festival in July and some idiot in Montreal stole his instrument!

There were so many people down at the mainstage waiting for him to come on and then we found out the news, and we were so pissed!

Would have been a killer show, he's unreal.

  • sweet. what the fuck is that awesome instrument? i dont understand how it could possibly do any of that stuff

  • The Magic Pipe, constructed by the man himself.

  • as ^^this guy said, he built it himself. it's got one string on it and a bunch of electronic effects like cymbals and such. plus foot pedals for a cowbell and bass. yeah, its that awesome.

  • Im seeing him in October here in VT...so excited!

  • wakarusa was hurting but this game is awesome

  • I saw em in Lawrence Ks..Great show and Better weekend!! Wakarusa rules!

  • Hey! I was in madison also. It was off the wall!

  • holy crap its one guy xD

  • I just saw him last nite! He was an awesome opening act for buckethead cuz theyre both weird in a good way and theyre both great musicians.

  • Did you see him in Madison? I went to his show last night in Iowa City. They were AMAZING. I'm still partially deaf.

  • ditto, that was a jammin good time

  • im going tomorrow nite its gonna be badass

  • I saw him and buckethead playing together at Wakarusa the other day. pretty good stuff.

  • just saw him at the tulip festival in Albany. No one really knew what was coming but when he started playing he attracted a decent crowd and people were really into it. It definitely was something different and fun to listen to.

  • ironic, i saw him open for buckethead, and every person who showed up, appeared to have just because of seeing his name in guitar hero. as a result it was one of the shittier crowds ive ever been apart of in my life, and i was the ONLY person dancing like crazy to that 1 guy, if only others had joined in!!! they were all resisting the groove

  • Does anybody know how on earth all the sound is picked up through that tube?

  • the pipe resonates in sympathy with the string/hit/anything else he feels like whacking against it. the sound goes through the pipe, gets picked up by a mic at the end, then goes to a rack of processors which make the funky effects

  • i would imagine its SLIGHTLY more complex than that. the pipe is tuned, he can play conventional notes

  • inspector u dumbass u haven't heard Buckethead's good stuff he is way more emotional than any guitarist who has ever picked up a guitar that 1 guy is awesome to but seriously buckethead owns all.

  • i just saw him with karnivool tonight, torn the rof off, absolutely insane, geanis.

  • Just saw this guy on Spicks & Specks.. He rules!

  • I'm seeing him with Karnivool next week!!!

  • I'm going to see Buckethead June 2nd and This One Guy's gonna be opening. I can't wait!

I can also see him touring with Primus.

  • hey! im seeing him may 31 in chicago. im pumped, i just ordered the tickets

  • As i've said before, Buckethead should open for him.

  • sometimes they play together, but that 1 guy is not yet a household name like buckethead. I got to see him open for my favorite band floater back in '05

  • the guy is damn good but you are a fool

  • March 23rd show, Eugene Oregon checking in. Never heard of the guy before. Will make sure to check him whenever I can.

  • I was there on the 23rd when he opened for Bucket Head, he was dope! To see him at a venue with a nice large PA system made me feel like I was at a Rave! It thumped like no day. Awesome Show and the Magic Boot was spectacular!

  • Hehe I was there too!

Twas awesome. I was let down by Buckethead though. The 'jam' session they had at the end was depressing, buckethead couldn't come up with anything original to play along with T1G's stuff.

  • could have been an off night, he was in fucking P funk all stars national tour, you cant tell me he cant jam, the guy can do it all my friend, even slap bass.

  • dude this guy was awesome but i went to buckethead For buckethead and if ur a true guitarist buckethead doesnt get old EVER this guy was great but buckethead was absolutely amazing

  • i disagree buckethead got kinda boring i liked that 1 guy a lot better

  • Are you high? Buckethead blows goats. Drum machine he could barely come in cue on, No original licks, stupid costume and props. That one guy has talent, Buckethead sounds like a redo of every Joe Satriani or Steve Vai album ever made. Talent isn't just playing fast and loud. Good music has varying dynamic and rhythm, two things buckethead does not have. He is talented, yes, but his talent would be better served in a real band without the bucket.

  • He's going to be at Walkarusa for 5 days this year. I hope to make it to at least one :(

  • Saw Buckethead at HOB Anaheim Halloween 2006

Crime Slunk Scene tour and this guy was the opening act and also the Bassist for BH.

  • lmichael67:

I just saw Buckethead here in Spokane and That 1 Guy opened.

Buckethead was good. Overwhelmingly good. Which--to be honest with you--made it really boring. You just watched his hands the whole time. In 30 minutes, it got old.

THIS guy however (that 1 guy) was an AWESOME performer. Me thinks that that 1 guy is going to open for Buckethead someday.

  • he hes been opening for him

  • This guys is freaking amazing. I could listen to this song all day

  • Nick5379!! me too, gonna be awesome...march 20th, cant wait

  • I'm gonna get to see Buckethead and that1guy pretty soon =3

  • Awesome ^^

  • That gave me a head rush!

  • holy shit i saw him last night in edmonton, just blew my mind. so wonderful, so talented, so creative.

  • Damnit, I saw him in the Journal and I was like, "Holy magic pipe, I has to go!!!" but I couldn't get tickets. Craptacular.

  • Thats amazing!

  • how can people talk over that?

  • I agree.

  • Mike, you are great! I'm so damn pleased to see this great video!

  • That 1 guy would piss all over les claypool. If thats les style then that 1 guy does it far better.

  • Going to see him in 4 days *excited* ^_^

  • As someone who has been a big fan of Les Claypool's for well over a decade(and then some)and has got every Claypool bass line and lyric deeply etched in her brain I have to say NO he is NOT ripping Les off. He is very much his own style, sound and vibe. I feel sorry for you though, you're obviously very musically ignorant .

Oh you poor thing you :(

  • amen mamacakes

  • your a fuckin moron

  • Les is great, but not entirely original either... no one is. Everything exists as a copy of a copy. You ever heard of Stanley Clarke or Larry Graham (just a couple of awesome people)... Les is not the end all be all of bass playing, even though I agree that he's the man! Always remember that your idols have idols and they will be different but great, typically true creativity is derived through inspiration, not by being a judgemental dick.

  • It's a pity his CD just doesn't sounds anywhere close to as amazing as he is live.

  • yeah, live totally better... his second CD is closer to his live sound though!! :D

  • His internal song is like no other!

  • Saw him open for Buckethead and it was a fun suprise . with a massive P.A it's a pretty wild sound and visually cool too .

  • He is amazing ... I just bought his DVD and that is worth checking out as well

  • That was AMAZING! I'm going to check out his music now, I think.

  • amazing artist and a true ONE guy he is the only one in the world that does that

  • that is just neat, kinda looks like a whamola.... kindA

  • It's 'The Magic Pipe' it's like the whamola on steroids and acid.

  • lol thats funny as fuck, but true

  • Wow...That 1 guy at his best.
