  • Your instruction did not work at all but I am guessing you also have to push your torso in as you are in the air so the legs can be forced to move over...And you need at least enough strength to get both legs a good amount in the air.

  • @toxicloveex in a walkover your just kicking over and in a spring your jumping up and springing backwards. there is a big differance watch the videos on each one and you will see it.

  • This is still hard for me to do. 2 problems... 1 i can go into a backbend but i cant pick myself up like i can do it but when its time for me to be done i have to fall to the floor to stand back up .... 2 when im in a backbend (bridge) I cant kick my leg over at all!!! Please help me asap!!!

    I can help go into your backbend and recover a few times, then lift you left leg up & kick with your right leg to get the feeling of kicking over. Then after you've done that a few times, just go into your back bend with one leg. When you're hands are about to hit the ground kick off really hard with your right leg!

  • Your soppose to make sure your leg is up a little before your hands touch the ground to have a more fluent look!

    i learneddd by having my legs on like a matress or couch cushion and kickedd off that. then after i could do that i got a spotter to help my legs over .

  • Um well, hopefully you answer my question: I can kickover from a backbend but, my foot doesn't go up so I cant do a back walkover! help!

  • I have a question. Whenever i do my back walkover i can kick over on the ground. But when i try to do the whole thing i'm too scared to lean back. I've tried doing it on the wall and leaning back on the couch but i'm still to scared. And sometimes i'm even scared to do it with a spot. But i got my Backbend in 2 days and i got my back bend kickover in 3 days. I am just scared to lean back is there anything that can help me?

  • @natalieh090 Hey! i was just like you when it came to back walkovers! i could do both the skills, but i was scared to link them together with my leg up or forwards. i found that i didn't have as much balance compared to when my legs were paralell. Anyways, for me, i tried going back onto the sofa, then onto stacks of pillows/ cushions, and once i felt comfortable with the height i would remove one, and kept doing so until i was doing it on the floor... hope this helped:) x

  • @ponygirl140 when u start kicking into a handstand a few weaks later u will get it thats what happend to me today i am doing a back walkover its fun and not as hard as i expected after i did it but it took me a bit and i got my recorvering from a back bend!and im in gymnastics trust me mircals do happen

  • @luvdance289 Try putting your weight on to your hands... Like going in a back motion and you have to look at your hands and put full weight on your hands, one leg up then put full weight on hands then the other one follows.... Hope this helps!

  • @snowvv111 you need to work on arm and shoulder strength then. Work on doing handstands and holding for a few seconds. Do it against the wall for help. You'll be able to get it with more practice and strengthening! (:

  • @0014marymarytwinkle yes, this is a lot easier than u think ! arms up, legs apart, bend ur knees, look at urfingers at all times and go back. =) hope this helps

  • it helps if u know how to shift ur wait. when ur going into ur back bend all of ur wait should not be going down with ur hands. u keep all of ur weight in ur legs and then once ur hands hit the ground u push off ur feet and and ur weight shifts off onto ur hands.

  • the way i learnt how to do back walkovers was to start it on a hill with your hands at the bottom and your feet at the top it gives u a kick up u also need a perfect bridge if u practice a bridge against a wall and try and get your chest right up at the wall if you do this in your bridge it helps alot! Hope this helps !!! :)

  • @Jor27Din you could try stretching them more, and strengthen them by circling your hands, if that doesnt work check with your doctor and make sure its ok for you to be tumbling :)

  • I can do all of that the trick is to have lots of towles and go down really fast and kick your leg up in the air high. cant do a kickover? well kick up really hard when ur foot is in the air point it in the direction u wanna go.

  • @LittleMissSonja pratice doing it against a wall, like a door or somthing put one hand around the knob (but dont put all ur weight on it) and one hand against the door lean back and once ur close enogh to the ground put ur other hand down. another great thing to use is entryways that has the part u can hold on to then just slide back. i learned how to do a back bend in a week using this method =)

  • I just learned literally last week and this is what really helped me: When you're going over, focus on getting your hips up, squeeze your stomach like you're doing a sit up. Hope this helps!
