it's just much easier to observe and film lions, and it's very diffcult to find tigers in wild. vids just can't show what real wild tigers are. They are rare, and too good to hide

@joerulz88 not really. Fishing cats & jaguars are superb swimmers. anyways, tigers wont try to fight other species too much. Bears are 60-90% vegetarian so there would be minimal competition. Dholes would be the only big competetor but since there are so few of them, it wouldnt make much of a difference.
Tigers are one of the most endangered animals in the world, so tigers always are loved and protected by the majority. Lions are the only big cats stay in group and their survivial rates are much higher than other big cats. I think their number is overpopulated because they are the reason why other great cats such as leopards and cheetahs are mostly threathened.

it's just much easier to observe and film lions, and it's very diffcult to find tigers in wild. vids just can't show what real wild tigers are. They are rare, and too good to hide

tigers would win no question. they are bigger, faster, stronger, more agressive and they usualy live on thier own and not in prides (like lions) so they have to feed, hunt, fight for themselves. also the enviroment they live in is much more demanding becuase of the more species of animals living their and the terrain they live in is full of trees and obsticles. Also tehy can climb trees and are the only cat that likes water to swim in wich is cool!

You said a lot of things that are wrong. They are not more agressive, look how much lion's fight. Tigers are shy and submissive. Type in why tigers fight like curs. Lions have more experience in fighting by the way. Living in Prides isn't a sign of weakness. There are more species of animals in the African savanah than in India, that's a fact. Larger, stronger, and more agressive animals in the savanah.

@joerulz88 not really. Fishing cats & jaguars are superb swimmers. anyways, tigers wont try to fight other species too much. Bears are 60-90% vegetarian so there would be minimal competition. Dholes would be the only big competetor but since there are so few of them, it wouldnt make much of a difference.

Tigers are one of the most endangered animals in the world, so tigers always are loved and protected by the majority. Lions are the only big cats stay in group and their survivial rates are much higher than other big cats. I think their number is overpopulated because they are the reason why other great cats such as leopards and cheetahs are mostly threathened.

I see all this bickering between lion and tiger lovers and yet as we fight among each other, these magnificent creatures are slowly faltering to becoming exstinct some day. I think you have that backwards, I tiger is quicker and has more energy, but a lion has a much larger jaw with bigger teeth, and has a body to support it's huge head. If you notice, a tiger typically try's to swipe with his claws. A lion goes strait for the throat with a bite.

You're being silly. The Barbary still exists in some remote zoos in Africa, and no tiger's live in Africa except when men forcibly introduce them in zoo's, or protective environments. So by you're reasoning then we could say the tigers were run out of Africa by the lions.
In reality, lions were all but exterminated in north Africa, and Asia by man, and those subspecies remain in zoos and national forests protected by man.

as for the lion's having a mane to protect there throat,look up Siberian Tigers they have an extra thick coat for the conditions in russia they also have a mane/tuft around there neck for protecting against killer bites, Tigers also have longer Teeth, and a thicker skull plus more bite force and swipe force.
