hey man! im looking for a game for the ps2 or xbox that is scary but not always dark (lol),does not require you to look for thousands of objects, and focuses on stealth as your only defense. like hiding from weird, bizzare creatures while trapped in a dream or space, or something like that, but i already tried silent hill, it was too dark and less scary because the monsters would attack you. do you have any suggestions? thanks!

I think Clock Tower 3 is pretty decent aswell, should be somewhat scary and your only option is run away and hide. For PS2.

You might also wanna check 'Siren' series.. I don't have those but they should be all about hiding.

One im interested myself is 'Echo Night Beyond' for Playsation 2. Some people say it's one of the most boring games ever made, but I really enjoyed everything I seen so far. Hiding in space station. Check it out aswell.

The first Siren on PS2 is apparently heavily (totally?) stealth based, but very difficult and the English version's voice acting is awful. I've only played the newest one on PS3 (New Translation/Blood Curse): it's great, but combat and darkness are common. So maybe not what bet... is looking for.

"Echo..." looks interesting. Middling reviews, but it's cheap so I'm gonna give it a go. Thanks for the suggestion, I'd never heard of it! I came to this page for Fatal Frame & found something new XD

Scratch that about stealth... I read a retrospective recently that said the first game was almost all stealth, but looking at some gameplay vids here, I can see that's not true. The stealth/gameplay balance looks about the same as the PS3 game. Maybe a *little* less combat but it's certainly not a sneak'em up.

naa i would really be wasting my money dude. i mean the price difference between xbox and ps2 games is that ps2 almost doubles the price of the same xbox game, in most cases, even though u actually get a better graphic performance and better loading times on the xbox which is a hell of a lot better. PS2 having most games isnt necessarily a good thing. anyway im ordering about 50 games for £3 each, which will keep me entertained for a few more years.

of the current generation, yes 360 owns at the moment, but out of last gen consoles, xbox owns aswell. Not by most sales, but by cheapest game prices, while being cheaper than the all popular weak console -- PS2. The Xbox put in double the power, and yet maintains cheaper game prices and cheaper console price. It doesnt matter about size, unless you're too young or weak to carry it around. Besides, Dell's gaming laptops are about the same weight.

Not to disappoint you but xbox 360....sucks...seriously...I had an xboxb 360 already and it had those ring of death or w/e...And I have an xbox so the only thing I agree with you is the game power. Its graphics are amazing but microsoft lacks to release GOOD games, all I see are first person shooters, which tend to get boring. While the ps3 lacks games right now, look at the ps2 so many great titles it started off kinda bad and got really good, the same will happen to the ps3.

Silent Hill series would be your best shot if you ask me, and especially Silent Hill for PS1 is creepy as hell. Resident Evil series until RE4, Alone in the Dark series, Dino Crisis for PS1 and System Shock games for PC. I also recommend to check upcoming Nintendo DS title, 'Dementium: The Ward'. Scary? I dont know. Looks really interesting and sweet for handheld survival horror game, though.

Well, they reminds me alot of Resident Evil, Dino Crisis or Silent Hill series. They are survival horror games with very dark and scary atmosphere. No guns at all, but instead you are using video camera to defeat your enemies (Ghosts, spirits etc.). Yeah go to wiki web the one that tells u all about the game when it first came out they've got a big list of all the games comeing out for the PS3 and Fatal Frame was there when i last looked also Zone of the Enders 3 now that MGS4 is nearly complete that can be started and i heard that Tecmo will bring Dead or Alive 3 and 4 to the PS3 but that isn't in the list of games so it may not be true.

For my opinion Project Zero II is the best and scariest. Project Zero 1 and Project Zero 3 are equally great. Altought PZ3: The Tormented has better graphics and gameplay than PZ1, but then again PZ1 was little bit scarier. PZ2>PZ1/PZ3

So the PZ1 and PZ3 is equal, eh? That you could not imagne, seeing how PZ1 handles a ritual of strangling.This kind of game doesn't seem to have the same tension. What I didn't enjoy in PZ2 was the Kusabi's apperance, and the ghosts (limbo man, limbo woman,etc.) wasn't that scary. And I didn't like the cameramode in P2 either,it seemed like they had taken one step back since the PZ1. Do anyone know if they'll be a fourth one?
