The focus on the military aspect, at the risk of character detriment, suggests that it would have been more aptly titled "Army of the Dead." There's NO reason to care about most of the cast, as they all seem contrived and are portrayed as such. Rhames, who always has presence, is sacrificed too early and with little effect. Overall, it's a straight-to-video project.

Hated this film. You'll notice that when movies make fast zombies, it's because they're really short on plot, or have characters you don't care about. So, to cover that they make zombies fast so we're distracted by a cheap thrill. The second reason they make fast zombies is because they can't figure out how to make slow scary- in other words they don't know how to set the scene or the mood. The Walking Dead series proves all of this. So watch out for fast, it usually means it's hiding flaws.
I loved how you said that the fast zombies were like monkey's on crack, I play a game called Zombie MAster, where there are different types of zombies put together, there are walker's called shambler's, runner's called banshees, and other's too, the banshees are litterally monkey's on crack, they can jump as high as a single story building, they run on all fours, they pounce at you as well.

This wasn't a perfect movie, but it was good. People are comparing it to the original too much. This movie was trying to go a different direction. Why is there a problem with Steve Miner doing something different? If you guys are gonna hate on it, 1. It isn't gonna do anything, 2. think of it as a regular zombie movie. not a remake of Day of the Dead.
There are a lot of scenes being shown very quickly, and the voice over doesn't really fit with the video. Also when you speak try to prevent frequent pauses and "uh" between words. But everyone has to start somewhere, keep at it and you will get better.

Actually, some scenes were duplicated. Like when they were wondering to kill one of their one, despite the fact they may not fall to the infection. And the part where a zombie fires a gun out of instinct from a past life experience. Going through the abandoned missile silo was also in the original film.

The only reason I like this movie is because 2 of the characters look JUST like two people I know. One of them is named Trevor, and one of them is named Kyle. Well, Kyle and Trevor are both names in the movie, but they are mixed up, lawls. They looked more like Linda B in Exorcist. The spider-power was beyond retarded. Slow-movers add a little bit of realism in an otherwise world of impossibilities. The chemistry involved with dead bodies require that they slow down quickly over time:decomposition, rigormortice, the deterioration of the neurological system (signals from brain to rest of body), the gel forming in they eyes, causing poor vision...slow movers make for a bit more realism there. That's why I prefer the slow guys...
Fast zombies are awesome, but in all honesty, there would be no chance of survival like that. Thats my main gripe with them, and imo zombie movies with slow zombies are more interesting because the survivors can actually do something instead of just holding up, because 1 step outside and you most likely got a full sprint kenyan zombie coming at you.

Bubb is also a reference to the original movie. He is a zombie studied in the first movie. He was able to use a gun and startet remembering his ol live as a human.

But BigDaddy in Land of the Dead is much more like bubb...
Because the vegetarian Zombie is also from the original movie. In the original the zombie Bubb is remembering his gone live. He also remembered that he was a soldier and is able to use pistols, but he's to dull to reload. In the remake he just remember to hate the taste of flesh. TaDa vegeterian Zombie.
Yeah, the monkeys on crack line was funny. Fast zombies don't really make much sense, all I can thin of is they aren't alive anymore and may not feel pain or fatigue but that's it. They're dead, they're all messed up. There's also rigormortis, which might slow them down a bit. Don't bother, I'll say it for you: "you're thinkin' too hard Radar."
I find it sad.....just completely sad that no one can make a good or decent remake of any of Romeros films, because Day of the Dead original was made in '85 remake was 2008 where you have ALOT more to work with then you did in 85, yet this movie was still a complete and epic failure compared to original, I enjoy remakes I enjoyed seeing the Willy Wonka remake in 2005 because it stuck to the story line and I could feel the similarities, at least Dawns remake was decent Days remake was just stupid

I think Dawn Of The Dead was best zombie film i've seen so far. I believe there needs to be a line of realism despite the fact "zombies" is far fetched. The possibility still needs to be in our reality, such as virus outbreak etc.

I liked this re-imagining of Day of the Dead better then the original, cuz the original is slow and boring. Now don't get me wrong Romero is the king, but out of all his films, the original Day Of the Dead is really boring to me. Naw not a sequel. Has no connection to Dawn remake. The story isn't even like the original and they woulda been better off renaming the characters...Rhames is Captain Rhodes in this one. I didn't really think the movie was too good cause i had high expectations is. But it's prolly not that bad if watched a few times or if you can get it cheap. This is nowhere near the top of the list of zombie flicks, so don't expect too much outta it

This wasn't a perfect movie, but it was good. People are comparing it to the original too much. This movie was trying to go a different direction. Why is there a problem with Steve Miner doing something different? If you guys are gonna hate on it, 1. It isn't gonna do anything, 2. think of it as a regular zombie movie. not a remake of Day of the Dead.

There are a lot of scenes being shown very quickly, and the voice over doesn't really fit with the video. Also when you speak try to prevent frequent pauses and "uh" between words. But everyone has to start somewhere, keep at it and you will get better.

Actually, some scenes were duplicated. Like when they were wondering to kill one of their one, despite the fact they may not fall to the infection. And the part where a zombie fires a gun out of instinct from a past life experience. Going through the abandoned missile silo was also in the original film.

The only reason I like this movie is because 2 of the characters look JUST like two people I know. One of them is named Trevor, and one of them is named Kyle. Well, Kyle and Trevor are both names in the movie, but they are mixed up, lawls. But I am a HUUUUUUUUUUUUGE fan of Zombie movies and the MAIN thing that pissed me off about this movie is them crawling on the ceiling and shit. That was gay.

They looked more like Linda B in Exorcist. The spider-power was beyond retarded. Slow-movers add a little bit of realism in an otherwise world of impossibilities. The chemistry involved with dead bodies require that they slow down quickly over time:decomposition, rigormortice, the deterioration of the neurological system (signals from brain to rest of body), the gel forming in they eyes, causing poor vision...slow movers make for a bit more realism there. That's why I prefer the slow guys...

Fast zombies are awesome, but in all honesty, there would be no chance of survival like that. Thats my main gripe with them, and imo zombie movies with slow zombies are more interesting because the survivors can actually do something instead of just holding up, because 1 step outside and you most likely got a full sprint kenyan zombie coming at you.

Bubb is also a reference to the original movie. He is a zombie studied in the first movie. He was able to use a gun and startet remembering his ol live as a human.
In the remake he just remember that he was vegeterian.
But BigDaddy in Land of the Dead is much more like bubb...

Yeah, the monkeys on crack line was funny. Fast zombies don't really make much sense, all I can thin of is they aren't alive anymore and may not feel pain or fatigue but that's it. They're dead, they're all messed up. There's also rigormortis, which might slow them down a bit. Don't bother, I'll say it for you: "you're thinkin' too hard Radar."

I find it sad.....just completely sad that no one can make a good or decent remake of any of Romeros films, because Day of the Dead original was made in '85 remake was 2008 where you have ALOT more to work with then you did in 85, yet this movie was still a complete and epic failure compared to original, I enjoy remakes I enjoyed seeing the Willy Wonka remake in 2005 because it stuck to the story line and I could feel the similarities, at least Dawns remake was decent Days remake was just stupid

I think Dawn Of The Dead was best zombie film i've seen so far. I believe there needs to be a line of realism despite the fact "zombies" is far fetched. The possibility still needs to be in our reality, such as virus outbreak etc.
But zombies who run like they're on crack, up walls and flying out windows is a bit overboard.
And whoever heard of a vegatarian zombie.. seriously. Without that thin thread of realism, it takes out the "Whoa what IF that actually happened" effect and blows.

Has George Romero set the bar so high that no one else can make decent zombie movie? All they needed to do with the "remake" is keep the essential ingredients plenty of gore, a kick ass soundtrack, a satirical subtext, the claustrophobic feel etc..etc.., not too hard surely? This movie is NOT Day of the dead nor should be recognised as. All it should be recognised as is a pale imitation which is using the name of Romeros classic to make quick buck, end of. I don't really see it as a remake or reimagining of the original, because, it's just way too different.
But this version is a little more exciting, less scary, but more gore, and I'm just too easy when it comes to gore.

I liked this re-imagining of Day of the Dead better then the original, cuz the original is slow and boring. Naw not a sequel. Has no connection to Dawn remake. The story isn't even like the original and they woulda been better off renaming the characters...Rhames is Captain Rhodes in this one. I didn't really think the movie was too good cause i had high expectations is. But it's prolly not that bad if watched a few times or if you can get it cheap. This is nowhere near the top of the list of zombie flicks, so don't expect too much outta it
