Fiat hold Jeep alive and give him new economic V6 diesel engines, absolutly indispensable to sale this car in Europe but 1US gallon gasoline cost more than 5$ in Europe...
I think it is hilarious how, since almost 50% of Chrysler has been bought by FIAT suddenly the marketing strategies have been focused on reawakening a strong feeling of nationalism into the hearths of Americans, just to persuade the audience from seeing Chrysler as a now italian brand. Like if they where somehow redeeming themselves in front of Americans, when really we all know how things are and nobody is stupid at all.
Well, I'm Getting a fully loaded overland in about 4 days cant wait to take it for my first drive. I'm going to try to video the test drive and impression. See ya soon
@FUCK202 The Wright brothers, Orville (August 19, 1871 – January 30, 1948) and Wilbur (April 16, 1867 – May 30, 1912), were two Americans who are generally credited with inventing and building the world's first successful airplane
@bf710901 yeah but theres video evidence showing english flying aircraft earlier and there is also evidence of the english creating concorde first however americans claim that too
Very well done video, and a good promo for the 2011 model.
I can't help but think of the irony though... a lot of pounding steel, shots of iron horses, etc. while a good portion of the GC is built with plastic and rubber, as most vehicles are these days. Also... they're really pushing the American image: the 2011 GC is built on a Mercedes chassis.
I would be totally into this new model, if it weren't so European looking.
yes Mercedes did help with the suspension and the frame but that's it, the rest it all Jeep and Chrysler, the 4wheel drive systems, the interior the design the engine, everything else it all Jeep and Chrysler
Let's hope the product lives up to their claims because if it doesn't, then it is instead an indictment of American values, and it makes us look like hypocrites.
This commercial gives me chills.... so well shot... gotta give it up to Jeep... They've been gone a while... Then, they give us something worth debating about... (below)
Are you too lazy to google yourself ? You must be american. Like Chrysler you need help.
Here for example:
Though the new Grand Cherokee will be launched, marketed and sold by this new Chrysler, it was in fact the old DaimlerChrysler that helped create it. The 2011 Grand Cherokee utilizes shared component sets with the Mercedes-Benz ML—including, for the very first time, a four-wheel independent suspension.
@leondevargas Chill out, leondevargas. I seriously wanted to know where you read about it. Thank you for the article. I do think your a bit harsh about it. Americans inherently draw from their immigrant roots -- this act is not un-American. Likewise, improving on design ideas from a relative overseas is not necessarily un-american or cheating. "...many of the hard parts have been made more durable for Jeep duty—like the cast-iron lower control arms versus the aluminum Mercedes units."
$31,000 but i think this is what the american auto industry needs, no more shitty unreliable cars. you cant get a european car like this for anywhere near $30k
I have a 95 jeep and it runs great. I am getting this car the first day it is delivered I got the car fully loaded just like my 95' and it's price is not ridiculous what so ever.
I do like the looks of the old jeep by looking tougher, however this will sell and they have inproved it so much compared to the 2004 through 2010 model. This is a very good starting point for Chrysler and American vehicles in general
awesome a new jeep that looks.... New.... retro styling is nice but who really wants to buy there granddad's jeep for 2-3 times the price as an old one.. now put in a new I-6 and there's a hit right there
@perfectcheeseburger so what? Its what customers want, so they deliver, its what people prefer and like. That being said, I still find it unique and different from Euro styling, it may take ques but its still American and will be built in America and this is a great add.
i just dont see the jeep in it anymore except the grill.which i dont think they will ever get rid of. but think of it. look at an jeep zj then look at this. jeep has lost its roots so bad it ridiculous. an old jeep looks badass and mean and tough. the new one just looks luxurious.
Thats what they were trying to do skaterboy.. They were trying to make the new Jeep Luxurious and less rugged.. However it can still go anywhere a stock older grand cherokee can go. I agree tho, I prefer my 98 Grand cherokee.. It just looks more American, more rugged, and less plastic looking then the 2005-2011 Grand cherokee's.. Even the 99-04 Jeeps are ugly.. I dunno thats just me.
