  • i have the same motor i got out of 1967 ford thunderbird 4-door Q-code 428 4barrel heavy duty c-6 automatic how many horsepower and torque

  • got to love the girls that love to get dirty and know there engines

  • have a hot chick demonstrate it... good sales technique

  • still available?

  • bumwhisenant, no they dont, 428's have the same exhaust bolt configuration as a 360, 390, 410, etc. Only the 428 Cobra Jets,428 Super Cobra Jets, and 390 GT are different, with either 14 or 16 bolt holes. The only way to be sure its not a 390 is to check the bore, or pull the pan and look at the crank. The 428 crank has different shaped counterweights than a 390.

  • itstheoz1....no. cobra jet, super cobra jet, and 390 gt heads have the extra exhaust manifold bolts.

  • @MrProjectrelief yes thay do this is a 390

  • i like how they dont have a radiator so they just put a garden hose in the thermostat housing and then let it drain out

  • dont 428s on the exaust manifold have one bolt on the top and 2 on the bottom on each port ? i smell a 390

  • do you still have this motor ? if so how much & does it have a bellhouseing thanks

  • She's hot becuz she's cute AND knows her way around an engine. We'd have lots to talk about.

  • good engine----no way it's worth $1800.00! to the right person, maybe $450-$500 max. if it had the desireable intake/fheads/cam/exhaust manifolds- yes, then maybe $1800.00. this is just a big oversized 390. nothing more.

  • Thanks for showing me your motor.

  • i will give you $300 this is not a cobra jet, its not gold

  • @mugenpower23545 To some people it is gold. You can bolt on the "Cobra" parts via Ford Racing and get close, but it's not a factory Cobra with a serial # and doc. They are nostalgic motors and weren't made for long, same with the 427.Isn't the 427 the "Semi Hemi" used in the Cyclone ?

  • How much horsepower can you get out of a thunderbird 428, without using a supercharger or a turbo?

  • @machone7I C'mon man that's like asking how fast can a car go. Too broad of a question. Stock or maxed out with .060 overbored cyl.. Gotta get more specific than" how much can you get ?" Stock heads only and Keith Black pistons and a Comp Cam ? Or just flat out stock. The 428's made some horsepower. And I'm not a big Ford fan or putting it mildly. I think 375 but dat's429 Cobra Jet horse which was underrated for obvious reasons. And the 428's are a nostalgic motor, like the 340, 396,383 and 327.

  • @Navajas440 I asked for an aproximated number... For example, i ask for what can i get at most from a 351 Cleveland, and with several upgraded parts (without specifying) and a nice set up you can get around 600hp, all motor, while with a high compression ratio more like around 650 with high octane gas.

  • @machone7I 351 Cleveland is a badass motor. They were much more rare than Windsors and much more desired than the Winds. Well you could go as high as 400 HP with just a cam, intake and headers, but few muscle cars were designed to handle 600+ HP. And the higher the comp. the shittier gas mileage+you gotta run premium to get the most out of it. But are you asking how much HP you can go all stock ? You're options are pretty limited then. Advance the timing is about all you can do .

  • @Navajas440 I thought the cleveland wasn't a very rare engine, i actually thought there were less windsors around... Yeah, having higher compression is not the best you can do, and in fact in many cars of the era you can find it has been lowered, actually. I asked not stock, but all motor, how much you can get out of a 428.

  • @machone7I Clevelands weren't made for as long as 351 W or Modifieds. You can get more HP out of a bigblock than a smallblock because of inches. You can get about 500+ HP. BUT bigblocks are more for low RPMS than a smallblock. The 440 made peak HP at 3200 RPM and the Hemio made it's peak @ 4000 RPM. The 428 is NOT a Cleveland.

  • @Navajas440 I know. I know a 428 is not a cleveland. This 428 was made before clevelands existed. It's logical that usually, from two engines of the same era and make, you will get more HP from the bigger one. Still, you didn't tell how much power you can get from a 428.

  • @machone7I you've got about 325 HP as it is. I'm aiming low cuz it' a safe assumption. There is no one answer how much a 428 can make. So stop askin. It's an individual basis with it's own nuances. One can have 100 shitty HP and another ethanol 1000 HP. IT VARIES per engine. They all don't make___ HP. HP is a ? of $'s. How much are you willing to spend. That's the real ? So ask YOURSELF. How much HP and decide how much you wanna make with your cash allotment and do the footwork.

  • @Navajas440 This video is about a ford 428. I talked about '67 thunderbirds, so quite clearly i was meaning the 1967 428FE engine. I'll go away, if it's such a difficult thing to answer.

  • @machone7I It's not diffcult to answer. You just don't understand there isn't a 1 answer. I've never suped a 428. Go to a Ford Forum and inquire there. You'll find guys more suitable to answer your ? there. I'm not an expert, I love my Mopars and can answer alot of those ?'s but not all. Not an expert. Just an enthusiast. You're not bothering me, you've got it stuck in your head that there is a pre-ordained, single answer to ALL 428's. Not so. How much HP do you want? How much $ u wanna spend ?

  • @Navajas440 And those engines were rated at 360hp, though it made more like 400 on the wheels. On the flywheel, i don't know how much it could be, but i guess it could easily be at 470+hp, a friend has one '67 thunderbird 428 coupe, and god it's fast.

  • @machone7I Anything above 10:5:1 compression will need super unleaded. And anything with a supercharger or turbo will need 93. But you will need much more porting with a naturally aspirated to make it as tourqey as and as powerful as a turbo or supercharged model.

  • can you give me the castings numbers for block and heads? is engine untouched? can you freight it?

  • is it still for sale i have a 390 i'm restoring

  • Shes freekin Hot!!! Im just saying......

  • FYI -- 300--500 max is norm for a engine !

if rebuilt and detailed - 1,400- and up -- depending

    on work done !

  • 500 max with trans -- 300 without !

  • yeah definitely sounds like a lawnmower, no way 1800 for that,

  • still available?

    cheers

  • sounds like a friggin lawnmower. and you want 1800? good luck, hope you get it.

  • sounds pretty weak needs some love total rebuild

  • I sold a complete 427 side oiler shortblock for 2000 back in 1996. so that is a pretty good deal for anyone wanting an original big inch FE.

I do believe I could find one cheaper though around here. I would rather stay internal balance though like a 427 or 390. Early 429/460 were also internally balanced.

  • have you sold the 428 yet?

  • ill give you 120$

  • sexy legs girl

how much u want 4 the engine

  • sexy legs girl

  • I bought a 69 Galaxy with a running 429 for only 200 and drive it home

  • pretty cool that she has enough skill and nerve to start it like that and isn't afraid of it! good luck with the sale

  • It is in Charlotte, NC.

  • where is this engine located?
