This is the reason I thought the '90s was one of the worst decades for music when I was a kid. Most of the popular hits were awful. But I was too young to get any exposure to the grunge and the rock and the alternative, y'know, the actual GOOD music that makes the '90s one of the greatest decades for music. Thankfully, in retrospect when we can skip most of the crap in this video.
@MitholX Personally, I think grunge and rock aint that great great...I mean Nirvana is ment to be one of the great bands of the 90's...but I cant even hear wtf Kurts slurred singing is about 100% of the time.
For me the 90's are about Rap/Hip hop, pop, pop rock and electronica.
The music is this video is legendary. Some of the most memorable stuff in existance. So when you say your taste is GOOD music and everything else, especially these songs are crap then all I can say is man gtfo.
This list is wrong.. the #1 song of the 90s according to Billboard was Mariah Carey and Boys II Men "One Sweet Day" 1995, it spent 16 weeks at number one and still today hold the all time record.
@madein0182 This list is correct. Those are number one songs of each year from 90-99. Actually in the year-end chart of 95, One sweet day hold at the second position, losing the top spot to "Pangsta Paradise". But in the decade-end chart, One sweet day was put at number 1.
no estoy deacuerdo con estas ubicaciones, la macarena es una atrocidad de canción (si se puede llamar asi a eso) que ni deberia de figurar, hay canciones q son mucho mejores q colocar en lo ultimo de los 90.........NO ME GUSTO..
@froggyman218 So true... Even though I'm only 24, I have no love for the music industry of today! Rarely does an artist/band come around that I have respect for....
@Charles87sf I feel ya, man. As a black man, I can veraciously tell you that our culture is falling the fuck apart nowadays. Instead of going to school or gettin' a great job, we're just dropping out and making money the easy way instead of actually trying. Our lazyness is the reason why whites are calling us out now. Why can't most blacks (yeah, I'm talkin' to you, DeAndre!) actually try to sing, rap, and play actual instruments like we did back in the '90s?
The 90's was a great time for music. It's just unfortunate that the general public has such little imagination that this bunch of crap were the best selling songs of that decade,
Gangsta's Paradise is such and important song. you have to pay attention to the lyrics. What's Coolie raps about is relevant why gang related crime happens to this day
This person forgot the Titanic's theme song!!! that fuckin song will always be on the radio not matter how, when or where it will be on the radio forever and ever! Someone must do something about it!!!

I see the world by its decades, and while some decades had been the slowest in my life, the 90's came and went like a jet airplane... and I miss it badly.
@TheKingMartin25 Ask Billboard, but 95 was my grad year from HS and Collio was #1 for year. Yes it was my favorite song all year glad to see it. Usually song of year up to that point was pop rock or ballads
in that decade my country had 2 wars, 5 years of international sanctions, poverty that is still feeling strongly. but we had awesome time having fun, and so so so so many sport victories such as 1991 UEFA Champion League, 1992 Basketball Euroleague... and many more
Alright heres the plan! Boycott all the horrible music we have now and call radios request to play things like this download their music buy their cds and don't download Lady gaga and all that bull no more buying cds and stuff lets bring this back!! Time we do something about this, you know we can control the music for whats big and whats not
@crazy4baseball47 Nirvana --- who cares!!!! OVER RATED BAND EVER --- PLUS THEIR LEAD SINGER KILLS HIMSELF AT THE HIEGHT OF THEIR SUCCESS---DUH SMART!!
I do remember Cher's Believe. I was in New Zealand in the beginning of 1999 trying constantly to find "Believe" on a radio-station with my newly bought Walkman.
In the beginning of 1993 I was hearing Whitney Houston's "I Will Always Love You" as soon as I switched on the radio in Singapore. There was even talk there of forming a movement against playing the song on the radio! Saw the movie with my local girlfriend. Seemed like the thing to do.
im sorry when i say rap i mean the newer rap. tupac, wu tang clan and any 90s rap is good, but this new rap where they just have to talk and its electronically vocalized is the worst shit i have ever heard.
@pannoni1 are you kidding me. we had bands like 311, the offspring, foo fighters and many others that made great music in the later 90s. 2000s is when it got shitty because of the new rap and pop era.
