This was a great review. I personally loved the movie and wished they had kept the Black Freighter in the theater cut because it's a good foreshadow. Also, you forgot to say that Nite Owl II was based off of the Blue Beetle. Great review though.
Good review. Now review the Watchmen Director's Cut movie. lol Not really, but if you guys want to. That one was way much better then the theatrical cut. Anyways, good review and I hope you guys continue to make more. Later!
Wolverine: Origins. *sigh* They had good intentions, and I understand that Hugh Jackman even pushed for more character development in the script. 'A' for effort, but you'll never get anywhere as long as you treat comic book movies like generic, Steven Segal action vehicles.
Great to hear from a long-time fan. A round table talk show on TV, dedicated to comic books a life long dream for us! Please tell all your superfriends about our show, and hopefully we can spread our D'Compose-esque tentacles into every city in the world.
@coydog0 I have to say. honestly, i was hell of a lot impressed by the characters and plot of the movie. And maybe its because I haven't read the book. I'm not really into comics and all that but watchmen as i saw it approach me with something good. Something that baffled me. And i wonder, if i do read the comic. Will it just be the same thing with a better presentation? Is it actually worth since i watched the film? or is it different? In a great kind of way...
@astrologio They had to cut a lot of content out of the story, and not just plot: they cut crucial scenes that expanded on the theme. Zack Snyder's Watchmen is the 'big action movie' version of Alan Moore's story. So, I would absolutely recommend reading the collected edition of the comic. I've lent it out to all of my non-comics reading friends, and not a single one of them has ever been disappointed. Its a different experience altogether!
@ComicBookSyndicate Thank you very much. Though i have to ask. Was it better that i watched the director's cut of the film rather than seeing it's theatrical release? They said the director's cut filled some of it's missing gaps but not the whole thing. was it true?
Watchmen never had a chance of living up to the graphic novel but it wasn't bad. Watchmen suffers at the box office because this story just doesn't work for the general audience. The movie failed by not casting Vin Diesel as Dr. Manhattan. Fast and Furious made 70 mil on opening weekend. Sadly, the sequel to "The work of the Devil" will make even more. Scary world.
However, if Snyder had left out some of the silliness that George was talking about, it would have gotten better word of mouth.
EXACTLY. Forget the Fast & Furious crowd. They're HOPELESS. Focus on the intelligent viewer that is looking for a complex story. Not every movie has to appearl to the lowest common denominator demograph. Ifthe film was better, it would still make a bit more at the box office, then clean up on DVD, just based on word of mouth. 20 yeasr from now, people would still be talking about it .
I don't get it, in the last segment at the end George talks about people complaining about little things that change in comic book movies and George says that doesn't mean it's a bad movie but now he's complaining because Silk Secture didn't have a cigeratte in her hand?
The movie lost the *meaning* of Ozy's plan, but I think one less fantastic element is preferable in this type of story.
And I agree that it is the blueprint for the 9/11 attacks. I can't go much further than that without worry of being flagged by the CIA and mysteriously disappearing.
I enjoyed the original ending MUCH better, 'cause it served a very specific purpose:
no matter how bizzare and unreal the cause of the incident could be or ( meaning the giant alien octopus) people will believe in anything. At least that's what I got from it.
who are these retards, comparing a graphic novel to a movie, you can't just make it 5 hours long bro's.

@mQtekA 2 hour movie is fine, if it was a BETTER 2 hour movie.

@astrologio I haven't actually seen the director's cut! I do own it though. Whenever I get the urge to watch it, I usually read the comic instead :)
