  • OMG Meryl! I cried watching the movie because your incredible performance.

  • 1:27

meryl has the gift to see the things to someone else their eyes

and that's why she's the best actress in the entire world

  • 1:57 something is going on there.

  • I don't hate Meryl Streep, I hate the character

  • fuck that was great acting...she is going to win the Oscar.

  • Wonderful, magnificent, outstanding, exceptionable acting by one & only The Meryl Streep. An actress of her caliber should have won atleast 5 Oscars sadly she just one 2 one for Best Actress for ''Sophie's Choice'' and the other for Best supporting Actress for '' Kramer Vs Kramer''. Am sure that she is going to win Academy award for this year which is going to happen next month. If she doesn't win, am going to give up for this fucking Oscars who dont acknowledge the best work.

  • what happens at 1:26 and 1:27???

  • @stefanmcr Brighton hotel bombing -

  • i concur

  • What's with the Apple watermark in the lower-right corner?

  • she's amazing!!

  • Why did they cut out the sex scenes?

  • we have female impersonators in the uk who are more like thatcher than streep! Its garbage! I hated thatch, but even i think its a crap film!

  • Does anyone know the music used in this trailer?

  • Comment removed

  • Thatcher's Britain, the best Britain

  • Wow! Meryl Streep is good. She almost makes Thatcher likeable. ALMOST.

  • I dont' care to spend my money on many movies nowadays. but this looks like one that's worth it wow

  • damn she looks just like her. She's one of the classic greats for sure. Wow!

  • Meryl Streep looks exceptional in this role, she looks like she becomes the role. She still proves that she is one of if not hte greatest actress of our generation and even our parents generation She is amazing a truely talented human being. So in short I will see this movie.

  • Margaret Thatcher Milk Snatcher. Says it all.

  • Im sure Streep is fantastic, but who wants to watch a film about this witch. I wont be watching it for the same reason i didnt watch "The Queen".

  • There's something very wrong with the video around 1:57...

  • I think this could be Meryl's greatest role. It is one doing accents, but to play a well know person and look, sound and behave like them is something else. Shoe-in for oscar. You got to also give Maggie props. I didn't agree with her policies, but she was probably the most powerful female leader in the last 100 years. David Cameron is probably doing far more to destroy UK society now, but because he is male and didn't grow up working class he will not be demonised like this lady.

  • I'm probably the only one who's going to watch this for Jim Broadbent.

  • The Falklands are Argentine, and belong to the southern territory was invaded by the English shamelessly in 1833. it is time for them back. hopefully this movie Meryl Streep interpret this woman of iron as it was, a killer, a ruthless pirate and women. I hope not lie to us again as Evita, trying to destroy an image of a country that is and will be supportive, brother, beautiful, HUGE !!!.. and gives this little island girl envies the North.

  • @dmachaval With respect sir, the Falkland Islands are British. The islanders wish to remain British. Perhaps when they wish to become Argentine in the masses, then Her Majesty's government will negotiate with the state of Argentina.

  • @dmachaval Argentina really belongs to the native indians who lived there before those ruthless killers and pirates, the Spanish, came to South America and carried out genocide against the native inhabitants of the Pampas. If Argentina is happy to return the Argentine Pampas to the native indians, I am sure that the UK government would recognise Argentina's commitment to human rights. The Falklands were uninhabited in 1833 and declared "free of all governance", so the UK colonised them.

  • @dmachaval

Then when are you gonna mount up your shitty army and invade again

  • great traier!! i hope the film is as good as this stuff is

  • Meryl Streep is definitely the best actress ever.

  • I shouldn't be interested in this film but... I really am. Plus holy shit, how convincing is Meryl? The look, the voice, the attitude. She is perfect in that role.

  • this looks sooo good OMG Meryl can do anything !!

  • And the Oscar goes to.......

  • Why is there a movie of Professor Umbridge!!!!????

  • @slashermoviereviews

Your joking right? Did you hear anymone say 'Umbridge' in this trailer?

  • @Watchiya yes! She looks a lot like her and dress like her! it was a joke!

  • @slashermoviereviews if J.K. Rowling decided to write books based on seperate characters lives, and hire directors to turn them into movies, it could destroy the whole story line. That's why she isn't sure if she wants to write an 8th book too. Adding to the series once Voldemort has been vanquished could destroy it, well, unless she brought Voldemort back because of a loophole but even there, that could scar the series.

  • OMG LOOKS AWESOME!!

  • i dont care what the movies Meryl are in but as long as she's in it im set! :P hahahahaha love Meryl shes extremely talented!! <3

  • Two things in this trailer aren't correct!

At the time Airey Neave was killed by a car bomb 1:25 Thatcher wasn't there, and his car wasn't bright red but grey.

  • @citroenfanatic its called Director's Licence...

  • oh meryl

  • Anyone know the music to the first half of this trailer?

  • Ooooh i wonder why the picture is smudged at 1.56 x

  • @BritishAlienCompany Ditto...I noticed that as well. Interesting.

  • Does anyone know what song is playing at the beginning?!?!?!

  • I am really looking forward to seeing this. I hope this is neither a left-wing screed nor a right wing piece of hero worship. I just want to see the character.

  • Question- and don't get wound up over it...why do British people seem to hate her?

  • @musicstudenteire

    Because she was Britain's Reagan.

  • @1craigmt Im not an American so that makes no sense to me.

  • @musicstudenteire because youtube is full of left wing trolls who dont appreciate what she did for our country. she was recently voted greatest post-war prime minister by the public

  • @FadeToBlack888 fuck off she was tory scum

  • @smcauley600 you sound very prejudiced.

  • @FadeToBlack888 Ah k. all ive heard was about the coal mines from billy elliot so im fairly ignorant on what she did for britain good bad r otherwise.

  • Spoiler Alert: She completely FUCKS UP Britain... the end :D

  • Spoiler Alert: Britain dies.

  • @TheSunsfanforlife you what?

  • I don't see Meryl Streep. I see the character.

  • @TheSuperk25 and that is exactly how it should be. i applaud you for pointing that out; you're someone who understands what quality acting looks like. :)

  • WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON AT 1:55??!!

  • Why bother to do all the awards thing? Give her the Oscar NOW!

  • Does anyone know what the song is at the beginning of the trailer?

  • 1:39 - "everyone else's!" Who edited that in!? It sounds like a joke edit or something...

  • Sorry, I could not see this movie if it showed her in a compassionate light. One of the first things she did when she came to power was stop the supply of powdered milk to Vietnam which resulted in a generation of Vietnamese children either going blind from a lack of Vitamin A or being under nourished. Please youngsters who do not remember this woman research your history, google her, she was not a nice old lady.

  • Anybody know the intro song to this trailer?

  • @j2the69 I would like to know that too. I tried using Shazam but it didn't recognise it.

  • professor slughorn

  • what is the music at start of the trailer? the piano bit!?

  • @Tully97 I wanna know too

  • "One must say the unsay-able": this is horrific. She was an awful woman and I genuinely feel this country will not have forgotten that. Too many people are still affected, to many areas still struggling with abject poverty, because of the choices she made. I can't believe they would make a film which revers her so much...it just, honestly, makes no sense to me. :(

  • @maddiefoxy It has been 21 years since her leaving office, I understand that there's still areas struggling with poverty but can that be blamed on her? Labour was in government for over 13years, the party for the poorer people why didn't they help these areas?

  • @MrMdjmeredith Because her actions were so decisive its almost impossible to recover from. Honestly though, I don't feel as violently as it might seem that labour were perfect (its pretty much impossible to feel that :P) but I do agree with the principles far more than conservative. My issue isn't so much about Thatcher's politics but more that a movie could be made venerating her - that's what confuses me and I find a bit upsetting...

  • @maddiefoxy It's just your opinion, she certainly wasn't perfect, but things were horrific in the 70's this woman brought the people freedom in it's most fundamental manifestation, the right to own, work and earn. Which comes at a price. The areas of 'poverty' that you talk about where of (unseen by them at the time) of their own making, the number of strikes throughout the 70's and subsequent 80's resulted in industry loosing enormous amounts of money and ultimately resulted in their closure.

  • @Benkaycoles You're right of course, it's really just my opinion. I think it's one of those issues which is immensely complex and you end up with a bit of a paradox in terms of who should be blames for poverty - I put it with Thatcher, but naturally opinion is divided. I mean, Thatcher 'made the first move' as it were, but what my issue is is really that this movie seems to revere her - its such a biased view that it almost goads my extreme reaction.

  • "Shall we join the ladies?" Yes, do, let's join the ladies, and make one great big lady! Taken separately, the girls can be confusing. But as a whole, I think they might be quite amusing! I'd rather have one enormous lady with two tremendous eyes Than 20 with 40 of ordinary size! I say, let's join those darling daughters -- I mean, join them to each other -- And make one great huge mother!! In the damp and sultry weather, The ladies tend to stick together, anyway. QUEEN KONG!
  • Awesome! Can't wait to watch this. Also can't wait to see Meryl walk off the stage with her 3rd Oscar =) Love you, Meryl!

  • @1:39 the audio doesn't sound right. it doesn't sound like Streep saying "everyone elses", they must've voice overed it for the purpose of the trailer or something

  • @kizzalt001 exactly

  • I thought she was gonna be wearing iron mans suit xD

  • WTF? 1:56

  • Admirable to watch.

  • Does anyone know what song is playing in the first half of the trailer?

  • 1:27 WTF IS GOING ON

  • oh fuck

    what the hell is this

  • sounds really good

  • I knew Iron Man 3 would suck, but come on people...

  • @UDONTCME111

iron man 3 is on the way ;)

  • wow i clicked on this thinking this was like iron man but a female instead haha what a fail

  • Who ares about the history on that god forsaken country?

  • lol look at 1:57 in the trailer... there is a streak of axtended pixels across her faces while she is sitting in the room ;)

  • does anyone know the music to this trailer?

  • @24JackBauerPowerHour From 1:14, Audiomachine - City of Gold. They used it for The King's Speech as well.

  • @remusasriel Thanks! Very impressive. If you find out the first song as well feel free to let me know.

  • Oscar bait trash.

  • @vincentmilburn Exactly. Streep will gain an Oscar for an easy portrayal of a sociopath.

  • @andross637 typical liberal calling a great heroic woman a sociopath.

and no doubt you are totally unaware that jimmy page is an enormous plagerist (as noted on numberous sites and even some youtube videos), or that page had 13 year old groupies/girlfriends, or that page was a fan of nutcase alister crowley.

    typical.

  • @monk22yrs The sociopath put hard working families on the breadline and stooped to appalling lows in order to claim the 1983 general election.

Jimmy Page? Bwaaahahaha. I used a random image of a band I was listening to that day to jazz up my user page.

  • @andross637 mrs thatcher fought against all the snobs and born into upper class types that still make up england today.

if you want to hate anybody in england hate the queen---she's totally worthless, except for a tourist attaction, though, unfortunately, unlike disneyland, you cant ride her.

  • @monk22yrs Mrs Thatcher found against snobs and upper class types by...privatising everything, abandoning the concepts of social welfare and social responsibility as far as she possibly could and doing her very best to ensure the rich stayed rich and the poor got poorer. She, if anything, widened the gap between classes. She may have been brave, but I really feel this country will not have forgotten the damage she did to us.

  • @maddiefoxy I am young and never lived through the Thatcher years, but to pick up on your point bout social welfare and social responsibility issues. Wasn't it her that gave the poorest in society the chance to buy there own homes? Please correct me if I am wrong. I can not understand why there is such venom for this woman, I may be a little naive but I feel this is wrong. People have miss informed information about her and her Thatcherite polices which still play apart in today's politics.

  • @MrMdjmeredith On that particular issue (council houses) it added to a shortage in council housing and increased homelessness (this is what I talk about when I mean abandoning people); uh...its been suggested that the aim was actually to pass the responsibility of defective houses onto new owners, and when inflation rose and we went back into a recession people couldn't afford mortgage repayments and lost those houses again... its a general attitude of abandonment which incites the venom x

  • @maddiefoxy you're profile says you're 19 years old; i bet all you learned about mrs thatcher is from all the liberal college professors who hated her, and loved the ussr.

china had 50 years of the govt owning everything; russia still has a lot of govt owned govt---see how that worked out. in the 1970s, before thatcher, the rich were leaving england in droves because of high taxes. and punk rockers were complaining about the rich years before thatcher got into office.

  • @monk22yrs Thanks for your prejudice. I'm 19, but I read. Lots. I'm not saying go to the opposite extreme - disliking the principles of conservatism isn't the same as screaming communist propaganda at everyone, lol. I just think we have to hold principles of social responsibility...what's the point of a government whose policies focus on the best interests of only a small percentage? I hate how youtube turns into bitch-fights, so lets not do that, but I do think it's important to discuss.

  • @maddiefoxy most people are stupid, or make stupid decisions---myself included.

my parents decades ago, and my neighbors now, all complained about being poor---but they all had money for booze

the one percent---like steve jobs---just have more brains and common sense than most peasants

elsewhere on youtube, for a documentary about a sexploitation movie director (!) a nyc college kid posted that he's learning film making in college----if he cant get...that...job, it's not govt's fault

  • @monk22yrs Wow... and i though jimmy page was to admire and look up to as an incredible artistic force before your comments. Now i KNOW he is to be admired and worshiped as a 'god' of the music world!!! Hah Ha!! Just hasslin' ya. Dang - these comments are getting WAY too dangerous. Ouch! Blessings ~ !!

  • @monk22yrs You know, not all liberals call her a sociopath correct? Is clumping together a group you dislike all you know how to do?

  • @Puunyamya i have read biographries and articles about her over the years----british universities hated her, and didn't want her to speak there....plus she was called a nazi

and then there's THE IRON LADY title---thats what she was called while in office; right there is what most liberals called her.

communists, over the decades were called better stuff by liberals: UNCLE joe, is how americans from 30s - 1950s called joseph stalin! that's where orwell's big brother came from---uncle joe

  • @andross637 You may like my blog post on the Oscars. It's one of the most thorough Oscar critiques I have found on the web. Google these words: what is great cinema award shows vpmilburn.

  • As Margaret Thatcher, your identity is so powerful.! It seems as though you've become her, and with your own highly self-assured being intermixed with Thatcher feels like you're the Queen of the World.

  • Great, another Oscar nomination for Meryl Streep, surprise surprise, will she ever stop? :P

  • No One like Her She's always better

  • Is she supposed to be sumpathetic at 1:23?? What a douche - war and a tough life are two completely different things.

  • @TheEvilGoat456 the falklands war helped bring down a MILITARY DICTATORSHIP!

a military dictatorship ruled argentina for decades----their defeat by the british was so humiliating, the military dictatorship collapsed.

hey, kid, read some history books before you call a pro-democracy hero a douche!

  • @monk22yrs I didn't say shit about the war she engaged in being 'bad' at all. All I said was that she shouldn't have phrased it like that. There is no way of comparing a hard life to actual combat in war. That was a very douchy, cunt thing to say - not to say selfish and narrow-minded. Especially when she's sitting in front of a militaryman.

You didn't even read my comment did you? You just saw the word douche and thought let's piss some more on other people's opinions.

  • @TheEvilGoat456 yeah, the word douche in describing somebody, doesnt inspire anybody to write anything uplifiting in response.

though jackie kennedy, as revealed lately, did call martin luther king a phoney.

  • Send the politicians to fight in the wars they start. And boycott idiotic movies that glorify their murderous thieving ways.

  • @OgeronimonominoregO the falklands war was practically a non-event----cause the argentina military dictatorship that was involved was so incompetent.

thatcher did help end the argentina dictatorship, because of the falklands.

and i guess you would boycott ww2 movies in which the british fought against the nazis---cause lots of americans prior to ww2 did protest against fighting the nazis.

  • Wow!

  • this movie is gay!

  • Simply amazing!Excellent performance!!!

  • i came.

  • I smell a BAFTA and an Oscar...Meryl Streep is one-of-a-kind...just amazed at how she sounds exactly like Baroness Thatcher!!!

  • phenomenal actress!

  • Meryl is my God send! I love her.

  • What is the first piece of music in this trailer?

  • Thatcher fucked the british...

  • @MegaHenriquecarlos no she didnt. she fucked the Argies

  • @FadeToBlack888 no she didn't ....uk w/ usa did ...

  • @rosarinoennaples the USA had nothing to do with the falklands. we followed the yanks into afghanistan, iraq twice and the yanks tried to even get us into vietnam, but when it came to the falklands both reagan and obama refused to support us

  • @FadeToBlack888 reagan refuse to be in that mess???? you go,sport!!!!!!

  • @rosarinoennaples reagan and thatcher saw eye to eye on just about everything, including the falklands.

it was reagan and thatcher who complained about the evil soviet union, when everyone else thought the ussr was a wonderful neo-nazi country.

  • @FadeToBlack888 reagan and thatcher were the best of friends!

at the time of the falklands, latinos in usa wanted reagan to be pro-argetina, and he wouldn't

    reagan backed everything thatcher did.

it was reagan and thatcher against the evil empire of the soviet union!

  • English Cunts

  • Can't wait! Meryl is the greatest. Love her forever!

  • Meryl is the best of the best.

  • Anyone else notice Bono at 0:18?

  • MORRY²

  • Do you want to know the true story? Watch The Shock Doctrine by Naomi Klein and you'll know the truth.

  • Comment removed

  • falklands?!! MALVINAS ARGENTINAS! FUCKING PIRATS

  • ANOTHER walt disney type movie about some kid who stood up against bullys, to learn love and a happy ending.

  • @monk22yrs If you read anything about this movie, you'd know it has anything but a happy ending. It's about an old, lonely women with dementia looking back on her life with regrets. Doesn't sound too happy to me.

  • @Mike6E but, the ad itself is like a million others of the last 20 (?) years; so many of these uplifitng ads that some comedians have even made fun of their cliches.

if the movie does have her look back with regrets----thats liberal hollywood for you, since she won and was right; russia is still a mess, and the european union is in bad shape too.

be nice if hollywood made a movie in which some communist looks back with regrets about the tens of millions russia and china killed.

  • @monk22yrs Seriously saying that this looks anywhere like a Disney movie is a major understatement. Or saying that a woman living in regret is happy? Cliche is definitely far off. The story of Thatcher is nowhere near happy. And clicheness and happiness are very far apart. VERY far apart.

  • @saadboy17 disney owns....just about everything! abc-tv is owned by disney.

why shouldn't margret thatcher have lived a happy life.? she won; she was right. you should be as lucky as mrs thatcher. only in hollyweird did mrs thatcher lead an unhappy life.

then there's the sleaze angle---mrs thatcher has altimizers, so she cant sue for libel. this movie kinda like making a movie about somebody on their death bed.

(and disney once made OLD YELLER and 20,000 LEAGUES UNDER THE SEA)

  • @monk22yrs say waat???? DISNEY and MERYL STREEP? Is this an attempt at humor?

  • @saadboy17 nothing funny how movie ads for the last 20 (?) years are all alike, with the angle of some down and out kid/adult learning to deal with adversity.

"she was an outsider...who fought her way in...she was a rebel...who never backed down"----this ad and a million other movie ads.

and, DISNEY EVEN OWNED MIRAMAX---WHEN THE WEINSTEINS, WHO MADE THIS MOVIE, OWNED MIRAMAX.

check out pre-1980s movie ads; enormous difference.

  • thought it was the female version of Iron Man... but still much respect to Meryl Streep

  • Looks like a movie worth seeing.

Thatcher helped turn the tide of history against communist totalitarianism, but should have retained and restored more British industry.

  • They might as well portraying Hitler as the lovable underdog. Ugh,

  • LOOKS AMAZING!!!

  • what's that in 1:55? Creeps me out

  • If she doesn't win the Oscar, the Academy must stop making this ceremony.

Meryl, you're the greatest actress alive!

  • @BiahCrazy this isn't her best work. I love meryl I do but she wont win for this. it will definitely go to Michelle Williams for My Week with Marilyn or Elisabeth Olsen for Martha Marcy May Marlene. Both were SUPERIOR and they have the biggest shot right now.

  • @KrueMann1992 Did you see the film?

  • @j2the69 I have yes

  • Professor Slughorn!!!

  • MERYL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Anybody having any admiration for thatcher obviously didn't live north of Watford in the 80's

  • Why not? they made films about Hitler and Stalin. Let's make a film about another murdering tyrannical fuck. Can't wait there's going to be a very long quue to dance on the bitches grave. That's if the undead can actually die
