Yamaha has been trying to make a better Steinway for about 100 years, and sometimes they succeed. This one sounds great. It might be the model "S", which is their hand-built line and are wonderful instruments.
And of course, Lisitsa's Rachmaninoff is magnificent.
This is the Rachmaninoff Piano Sonata No. 1 opening movement - it is part of the 3 movement work.

And I think it is not the CFIIIS, the best Yamaha piano. It looks like a 3/4 grand piano. And it has a great sound.

This is extreamly rare, on a Yamaha. :) Usually Bosendorfer or Steinway & Sons.

Valentina on Yamaha. Great sound! The sound of this small yamaha is extraordinary! I won't miss a bosendorfer with a yamaha!

Wherever and on whatever she plays we are reminded that she is an amazing and stunning talent! She is peerless in technique, tone and execution!

tough acoustics to play in, I would imagine

She most likely disliked having to play on that Yamaha instead of her Bosendorfer, but still, great adaptation to the lesser piano. ;-)
