  • where i can search the sheet?

  • too much accent on the low B... not strong enough and there shouldnt be pedal

  • more baroque would have been nicer...staccato on those quavers like a harpsichord...and ornaments can drive in straight to the keyboard makes it more barouque

  • I'm Grade 5 and type of .......... ummmm.......

not good at complimenting so, I'll just say it's

    at a 'good' standard.

  • mephyman: ... It's a difficult piece. No it isn't!!

  • sweet i have a U1 as well

  • u sound baby like...put more guts when playing...there must be loud and soft though its a baroque music and not written in the score... its called musicality...

  • this is cool. Well learnt. Try for som more phrasing- make it come alive a little and you'll be sorted. It's spanish of course- give a little more intensity and passion now that you've learnt the dots. Cool stuff :)

  • gt a bit weak....

  • I am a grade 8 first study organist going to re learn the piano after 5 years and take my grade 8 during Uni but i dont think ill pick this piece. I like the Bach P+F which i can sort of play well

  • I thought I was the only one who'd found this random essercizo 'til I came to Youtube. (I deleted my recording a while back, might repost soon). It's a difficult piece.

  • prelude and fugue in a flat is 4 times harder XD

  • Yeah maybe but it sounds so much more beautiful

  • im doin this for grade eight!!

  • same!!! XD

  • lol i'm playing this too..

    very nicee. : )

  • i'm doing tis too~~but i still can't play 3rd n 4th page...god tis song makes my fingers cramp...good job!

  • relax your fingers... XD

  • Very nice

  • WHOAHHH I'M DOIN THIS ONE TOO!!!

  • so what d'you get in ur exam? :]

  • I like it a lot. I'd never heard this on piano before and it sounds really nice, I love this piece played by John Williams, the guitarist. Congratulations

  • I think there's something wrong with me. I find it easier to play PianoSquall's Athletic Rag than to play this (yes, I'm playing the Athletic Rag up to speed, and yet it still seems easier). Anyone have any idea why this is?

  • maybe the muscle memory for that song is much more familiar? i don't know how to phrase it without sounding stupid but i mean maybe that song is more practised?

  • not bad!

  • wow. this song is tough, cos ive been learning it for 3 weeks and the chords are ugh..great effort!

  • im playing this piece for gr 8! some tough chords!

  • Hmmm, it's interesting becuz I took the grade 8 ABRSM in fall 2006 and my A piece was Sonata in D by Scarlatti. They sure like Scarlatti sonatas (well yea, they're technical, etc.)

  • I also playing this song,

    it is really hard!

  • I'm playing:

B1 -Clementi Allegro con spirito: 1st movt from Sonata in G minor, Op. 7 No. 3

C6 -Copland Jazzy: No. 3 from Three Moods

  • do you have the video you are playing jazzy?

  • thats great!

what other pieces from the book are you doing?

I've been playing grade 8 for 2 months now, a slight jump from grade 5 but yano

    :)

  • Exams are coming this month in 2 weeks time, thanks for your comments.

After practising for 4 more months now, it's more fluent and flowing. Will post another video when I've got the time!

  • Haha

The 6-note chords at the bottom of the first page are killers.

Your playing of this piece seems a little slow... but I might be wrong.

  • couldn't agree more; i even played them incorrectly for 4 months, thinking that i had to hold all of the notes down and only trill with my fourth and fifth finger. what a painful period of time for my fingers.

i also have a lot of trouble getting that modulation or ornament of some sort down correctly on the middle of the second page. ahhh

  • Wait, you mean you don't have to hold all of them down?

  • if you flip to the back of the book, there are little paragraphs about each of the songs. the one about the sonata explains the trills, and says that you release two of the notes immediately after playing them. you might wanna check though, cause, i'm only sort of sure that's what it means because i haven't checked it with my teacher yet

  • i`m not familiar with this piece but it sounds great.Have you taken the exam yet? Thanks for joining the group

  • I know this one, but I'm gonna choose A1 or A2... nice work

  • im playing that pieces too, n i think u r playing better than me. nice job.

  • i'm doing the other scarlatti piece!

  • i'm doing this! though possibly not as well... for my exam in two weeks! agh! :D

  • Hey I'm choosing that as my examination piece too... HAHA we're all the same...but it's kinda really fast...quite difficult to do all the trill and demi-semiquavers...

  • Fuck...i have to learn THAT!? shiiiiiiiit. ah well, im screwed!

  • im doing this as well. lol. its quite hard. :/

  • I need to play this one for my exam too, got scolded by my teacher very often for the wrong beat... you play it neatly, but I think you need to work on the volume.

  • kl - im doingthe exact piece :D - rofl; ive got a really crappy laptop with a crappy mic and crappy speakers and im playing with u :P - but its keep on jittering lol argh- ill comment on performance l8r :P on my own comp lol

  • I have to learn this too :S and Sonata in F (B3) I havent yet chosen my C piece.

  • I think B1 (Allegro Con Spirito) is nicer than B3, haha

  • yeah agreed i'm playing b3 and it's boooring... i mean i played lol. it's easier though. supposedly the easiest b song.
