One thing that may be missing from your presentation is that it's not just I & One. We also need to see the oneness in relationships, in situations, in historical circumstance - I believe this is the key to a balanced progression (not necessarily the buddhist version of enlightenment but I'm no expert). I think that everything we do in this life, goes into developing our soul. I believe that our soul, is created by our body. This body and life experience, is a tool for developing the a "soul" out of the infinite field of consciousness. I believe some souls reincarnate into new bodies, and some people start as blank slates. I believe this is why some people are products of their environment (such as those raised in abusive homes), and some are able to trancend their environment.
The study of people with multiple personality disorder sheds an interesting light on this question as well. They have different allergies and physical characteristics. When we're in states of extreme fear or rage, we are in a sense, very different people from when we are content, or a sleep. We have continuity of memory, but all of the matter in our body is replaced many times throughout our life. But I still think that we humans, at our core, are individual pieces of the universal whole.

Quite some time ago, questions came back to me when I'd say under my breath "I Love you God". question: What does that mean? what does that translate into? Who is the "I" that said you love Me? I realized then that it could not me the egoic self..me... because that has enmity towards God, and therefore would be a lie. Hi Deepak. Blessings and Peace-- I am a traditional Christian Pastor, but also a mystic. There is a great void of the spiritual realities that are shared by all faiths within my Western-molded spirituality. Lately I have been watching some of your teachings--and actually find them to have many points of correlation with the Bible. God is so much more than what we can imagine...and so are we!
