It is a Hiroshigi... See the Dragon inlay... Hense the name Hiroshigi Dragon. They don't make you fly, but it will make your left arm fall off. I used to have two... now only one... and it's on ebay for only $5K!
@DrowningCreekBand ehhh.....i dont agree. being part of a power trio, this cat MADE cheap tricks sound (A BIG sound) SINGLE HANDEDLY for many years. can you say the same?
This particular 12-string bass is not triple octaved just a pair of octave strings in unison for every main string. Most 12 strings are like that but i've seen the 3 octaves done.
it was made exclusively in japan and Holepick27 is right there is but hes also selling a hamer acoustic look with it. and if you listen to is you can see why it would cost so much haha
Yeah i know about the Chandlers, and trust me I dream of the Waterstones, but you can tell its a Hiro Kids bass from the Dragon inlay on the body. the 12stringbass site covers em
He was playing the Kids basses at this time but probably had a Hamer or two for back up. Even after he started playing the Chandler stuff he had a green/blue Kids 12ver that he would use on the song "You're All Talk" during the album shows in the late 90's. He would tune the low E's up to G's for that song so he could hit that low note with a open string.
Great, I've always wanted to hear his bass by itself. Thank you

The instrument is grouped into four groups of three strings. Guitar and bass strings mixed together.

I think Tom was playing Chandler basses at the time of this video. He's now playing Waterstone basses.
