I had a few problems with DXHR compared to the original, but overall it was still a good game. It just wasn't good compared to the original, but that's setting the bar VERY high.
if you want to hear the actual in game music with a player google: mod plug player. then download and install, open the player then open one of the files in the deus ex music folder an play any song it's pretty cool! also if you are musically inclined you can use mod plug tracker and EDIT the music for the game to your liking. as long as you keep the original file name. just something to share with y'all.
@delta2ish Yes, that's the original script, but because of the genius Chinese voice-acting, it sounds like she says ''Mr. JC Denton, in the fresh'' It's used as a joke. :3
@delta2ish Deus Ex, it's the Hong Kong level, where you have to bring peace to the triads, when you go to Maggie Chow's house in the residential district. Maggie Chow is the girl that had the most awkward voice actress ever. :D
Invisible War was a good game. But the story wasn't nearly as good and I didn't play much because it was so horribly optimized my PC that manages to run Max Payne 2 and other such games perfectly lagged whenever I clicked my mouse.
@R3troguy You can read about PS2 version on Wikipedia , they are turnet #1 game in my "Top 30 games of all times" into trash . Also Infisible war and Human revolution can't even stand next to the first part of Deus Ex for PC .
@anonysalt Invisible War didn't sucked, it's very good game, but far from the excellence of the first Deus Ex, which is just unbeatable. Though DX2 had some stupid plots, it had some great moments. Moments that were somehow related to first DX.
that and too small enviroments dumb AI and was way too short in general. Other than that it's a respectable game but knowing that it was a sequel to such an epic game made it look terrible
@StevXtreme Well personally I'm sick of the current console graphics so it wouldn't make the game any better atleast to me. Are you sure people would pay full price for playing the same plot and maps again in console graphics? I'm also sure that the remake could somehow never have the same atmosphere that the original dx has.
@thamunkey You have to understand that there are massive amounts of gamers that haven't even touched Deus Ex 1. You might have played the game, at a certain age, in a certain context and thus have that particular experience etched in your brain and think that's the "best" thing it could ever be. Well, you're wrong. There is no "best".
I'd say adapt the game to modern times in order to allow current gen gamers to experience the story and gameplay and let them have their own experiences with it.
@StevXtreme So you just want more players to experience a great game. Allright. But my point is that don't you think it would be better to make a new deus ex instead of remaking the original (as the remake would take many years of work if done properly). Then everybody would be able to enjoy a whole new story. (ps. I played dx1 first time this year)
It was there because it explains that Megan worked on Denton and since Denton was in the first game and the theme is badass, the developers put the song in
@xDarkTemplar the logo says "JC" the main characters name from the first title.the earth in the middle, same like with the MJ12 logo (hand arround the world)
I beat Deus Ex 3 for the third time, figured I'd watch the after-credits cutscene. Cutscene ends, just as I'm about to leave, it cuts to a picture of DX3's title, and...
"Wait... are they playing the theme to Deus Ex 1?!"
@Cantido --- Dude, have you even played Human Revolution? It's pretty damn good! (My comment is withdrawn if you are referring to DX2 however - nobody can defend that pos)
On a side note: this game is fucking awesome. I mean, I unfourtanetly didn't have the chance to play it until recently, and I'm only 2 levels in, and I must say, this game is FPS PERFECTION AT IT'S FINEST. You can choose any path you want: go sneaky without killing anyone, go sneaky while killing, or just go all-out shooting. Hell, it gives you options for EVERYTHING. Everything you do has consequences later on. 10/10. This game is absolutely perfect. Skills for shooting are annoying, though.
I think it's better that your playstyle is optional, that all approaches are equally valid is good game design. I chose the sneaky options because randomly murdering people seemed too inelegant for the Jensen I was trying to play, yet later on it let me murder the goons that killed my girl in a straight out killing spree born of rage. That was the story I was trying to tell, and unlike many others the game didn't put it's hand up and tell me no.
@Arkains10 Music is excellent. In Human revolution they used the basis of the melody. So no complains from me. But you can hear the original track after the titles.
Just finished the game (Human revolution). It's like I got back 10 years ago, so much similar to original game.
@MrIgoryan Really? I found it to be considerably different, when you start adding up all the changes. From no melee weapons to less interactive items to gameplay style. The original made you feel like an agent by sneaking and stuck. I did the same thing for Human Revolution but it was optional. Made it feel pointless because alarming enemies didn't come at a cost (e.g. Hostages executed).
I see it being a good game in its own right, but still not much like the original Deus Ex.
@Dunthyon I pretty much did play it non-stop haha. I finished it at about 1am two days after it came out. Doing the majority of the side missions and such, took a good 30 hours or so.
Summary, not as good as the original, but about as damn close as you can get to it.
@10samm10 no you are wrong , i think that 3 is the best of em all , first was great but you cant compare them its a really good story that relates with each other its not like different games .. its all the same game same story but in different times
@geffrod What gives you that impression? Some of the dialogue wheels are similar, but outside of that and the fact that it has a cover system, there aren't many mechanical similarities.
@fiatfrequency Interesting that you mentioned that, but I was talking about the music, Especially during the augmentation scene in the beginning it felt very Mass Effect 2-ish. I heard people compare the mechanics to more like a combo of splinter cell/ system shock with resident evil 4 inventory.
@geffrod Ah, I didn't even catch the "OST" part of your comment for some reason. In that case, I'd like to point out Mass Effect and Human Revolution sound similar because both are taking heavy amounts of pointers from the Blade Runner OST. In fact, enter Blade Runner OST into the search bar, click on the first link, and you'll see what I mean.
You and Michael McCann are the best at what you do!!! Shame that Eidos didn't get you to do the sounds of Deus Ex 3 but I believe Michael will do an awesome job! Thank you for making this game have the greatest soundtrack!
I missed the generation of the original Deus Ex, but my father introduced me to it. Honestly I don't understand how anyone could miss this game and call themselves a gamer.
BEST GAME EVER. LUCKY TO BE A GAMER IN THIS GENERATION OF THE FIRST DEUS EX. "We've had to endure much, you and I, but soon there will be order again, a new age. Aquinas spoke of the mythical City on the Hill. Soon that city will be a reality, and we will be crowned its kings. Or better than kings. GODS." ./
Alex Brandon here. I have an Unreal inspired piece that takes a few cues from Deus Ex as well available on my new album "Violet Electic." Check it out at alexanderbrandon.bandcamp.com!
@AlexCBrandon Holy crap!, Awesome work man; Thank you so much for providing your amazing talent to make all those games amazing. I grew up playing games like Jazz Jackrabbit and then Unreal and UT and listening to the songs today still gives me that nostalgic excited feeling from the first time I played the games.
@AlexCBrandon Amazing to see you are still checking back on your previous work Siren , have to say that your UT99 stuff and Deus Ex music are still amazing , there is something about your tracker music that just has that unique sound.

GODS." ./

@Cramoss20 Exactly, this has always reminded a lot of the 90's X-men cartoon :-). Love them both.

Wow. Awesome that this tune has so many hits.
