If you have Flash, know Action scripting, have a good video editing software such as final cut or premiere and have the castle of Cagliostro anime', You could recreate the game on your computer.
reminds me of when i use to eat pizza at the arcade! jungle hunt was tough, i think i recall a swimming level where if u time it right u could use the dagger to take out the killer fishies
Heheh, I remember this game. Its cheaply made off of Lupin III Castle Of Cagliostro and Mystery Of Mamo clips, but heck, its still incredibly fun. Too bad I can't find it anywhere anymore.
This was the ultimate! so much time and money put into it but finally got to the end!! if i can remember correct it takes 20min or was it 40min?? this was over 20 years ago.
I only got to play this game maybe 3-4 times when it first came out in the arcade. But quicker than you could blink, the game itself disappeared after maybe 2-3 months on the floor. This is the first I have seen it since 1984.
I have the roms, animations, and Daphne emulator I finally beat the game after several million mistakes!
I actually ordered the game because I had tried to download it over eMule for months and got frustrated. The game used to be everywhere then disappeared. I remember well. Dragon's Lair is still the best because you have random levels and death scenes that make sense. Cliff Hanger is funny though.
You talking about finishing Cliff Hanger or Dragon's Lair after a million mistakes? With Cliff Hanger I would expect no less than 3 miilion before completing it. :P
Cliff Hanger, yeah. Much harder that DL although DL is challenging because of the random screens. But man the first time in CH I got to the crazy action fighting and running part toward the end, I guess "boss level" geez...Dirk had it easy.
You can play it even on a low end P3/750 computer you just have to get the Daphne emulator, a few ROM files and the video. It's been a while but I used to have almost all the Laser Disk games but Cliff and DL were the only ones worth keeping backed up. The main thing is you wont get arcade accurate rom play on a DVD in a set top but with the emulator you will. Making DL especially fun as you can set the difficualy and free play if you want too.
Yeah, I remeber they had this game at cotton wood mall in IL, I played it around 1984, I thought it was such a cool game but hard, it to wasnt there very long. I have searched for it several times and this to is the first ive seen of it since 1984
one of the most coveted arcade games of all times. but back in 1984, operators dumped them fast since constant laserdisc player repair costs could outshine the incoming revenue. this game made me an early Lupin III fan, long before movies and tv episodes were so readily available here in america.
I used to own this game, an actual stand-up version of the original laser-disc. I am kicking myself now for getting rid of it. My friends and I play so often we were all able to beat the game. The Ninja segment was awesome....so was the Samurai in the sewer. I would love to find this game again...
Look's fun. These games are fun and they are very fast paced, if you can't keep up (or memorize well) you are screwed. Too bad they are never made anymore, if you know of any great fan made games that do this same thing... well, please tell me.
im looking for the CHD for this game in mame if anyone has a torrent link for it, send me a message. please.

I played this game a lot... not the most available game at the time. btw, the animation is from the classic Lupin the 3rd anime series

where can you find these laserdisc games? I've never seen them in arcades before?

@Spaceshotx7
I don't think you could find them anywhere in arcade today. this arcade game was at yearly arcade event. see description for details.

All laser games sucked for gameplay but this was one of the works. And that crappy anime.... At least Dragon's Lair was American made.

Originally I thought Cliff Hanger was the US name for the Lupin the 3rd series.

Don't you just love when you play those laserdisc games , they make a "Ump" sound. Isn't that music to your ears?

I wonder if they will ever release CH and Bandlands on DVD Rom so that we can play it once again, like they did with DL and Space Ace.

Hilarious! That's where I played it. I did beat it before they took it away. The part where you're in the room with the ninjas was the toughest part.

I must have spent $50 in quarters just trying to get past those ninjas. Wish I could find this game somewhere.
