This effect is called "optical infinte regression" created by the difference in the refresh rate of the monitor and camera and by a catpure (the camera) looking at it's reflection (the monitor) which creates a picture in a picture which is infinite.

that effect reminds me of Prince of Darkness, a John Carpenter movie. somebody has a sort of "message from another dimension" kind of recurring dream, possibly from the literal Hell, and in it a door is shown slowly opening up, and more of the darkness inside is revealed each time. very spooky imagery, and it reminded me of this video. totally recommend it to any horror fans, not the blood-n-guts kind of horror, but the spooky/creepy kind.

This is not, I repeat not a dis. However, it should be noted that this little video anomaly has existed since the dawn of video camera. If you hooked up a video camera and pointed it at your TV back in 1980 (which I did) it gave you the same multiple reflection effect. Still cool after all these years!
