@mksteeez I think it is because game cards are put into 2 different categories;

used and un-used.

If you put a code in for a used card then you will recieve a used card.

If you put a code in for a un-used card then you will receive an un-used card.

I haven't tried this, it could be a scam, if you try it tell me the result.
