  • Wish I could go back in time and participate in the riot

  • when he ruling class must understand that there is a price to pay for their injustice.

  • After Harvey Milk was Assasinated!!!!!!

  • Back in 1978!!!!!

  • upon another indignity nullified Milk's life with that verdict. Honestly, did you not see a riot coming???? Strange how the lawyer mentions the actions of the gay "mob" setting back the cause of civil rights. Totally obtuse!

  • of the gay agenda in the late 1970's that did Dan in. You hold people down and treat them inhumanely and you don't expect them to grow angry and fight???? For decades we remained silent and were essentially powerless. No more, no more!!!!!!! You reap what you sow. So vote your anti-gay props. Lifting the DADT? They need cannon fodder now to fight two wars. Yes, our fight for equality goes on. Watch the original movie and you'll see the pain and beauty of a ppl that remained calm until indignity

  • Oh, yes. The sob story of a gay man persecuted. Poor Dan White's wife and baby at the time. What about the Moscone family? A straight family with your sob story for Dan White and ppl mourn. I wonder how many ppl then, and even today mourn the same for a gay person taken. I'm going to say it, so many would be happy that the "f-word"got what he deserved. Why is that? Tell us why? Unfortunately, many of us breathe heavy with fury at a long history of being denigrated. Yes, it must've been the power

  • terrified by this, then it's your insecurity. Gays stayed calm at news of Milk's murder. The verdict made us explode. There's also still very real anger just a scratch under the surface.

  • Yes, poor Dan White losing his family. I see you don't lament the destruction many gays are subject to by being "excommunicated" by their families and friends. What about families that lose a child to murder by bashing? Bath houses? I went to one once to see what went on. I didn't partake in anything. You make it seem like gays line up for this sort of thing like ppl go to stadiums for games. If the guy is worried about a man hitting on him, you should take that as acompliment. If you're so

  • i never said anything about other incidents that happened to gay people "gay bashing" as u say. my comment was on this indecent alone. i have no problem with gay people.i don't understand why alot of people do and i'm def not a right winger lol. i also don't know how u can say i'm ignorant.the movie milk tried to show how milk actually screwed white over, but like i said it got lost in the whole gay bashing and gay hating topic the mayor wasn't gay,it had nothing to do with his sexual background

  • i'm thinking alot of gay people think white killed milk bcuz he was gay... right? milk fucked white over in so many ways...that's why it happened.if milk wasn't such a dick he'd still be fighting for gay rights. the movie milk tries to show this, but of course that issue get's lost in the sob story of a gay man persecuted. what about the man who lost his beautiful young family and was pushed to the edge of insanity to kill? what about the man who killed himself 2 years after he was paroled?

  • Typical right winger tea bagging idiot that you are. Ignorant!

  • Gays rioting? how dare they! Can't believe these perverts damaging city property and attacking police. They arrogantly prance into the street and riot. How dare they!

  • okay now I KNOW you're joking...

  • No, I'm not joking. Ok, I can accept that you don't choose to be gay. What really gets me is I find too many gay men behave inappropriate. Why the bathhouses? We're you also born with a key to a bathhouse locker? Born with a matching pair of hisn'his towels? How disgusting can you be!

  • uhhm... the what? Look, not all gay people are the same. There's annoying straight people and there's annoying gay people... that's just how it is. You can't stereotype a group of people... There's some nice ones and some mean ones. Some slutty, some modest. That's just how people are.

  • Yes, there are annoying str8 ppl but nothing is more annoying than unwanted attention from the same sex. In my days that I was a bodybuilder, I had gay men constantly gawking at me and making lewd comments to me. In one incidence I got tired of it and had to resort to punching him. He never bothered me again. I find gay men to act uncontrollably perverted. When a gay man does something indecent, there's little protest from other gays about the perversion.

  • EVERYONE is perverted. It's not just gay men. I'm a lesbian and it's damn annoying when a straight guy keeps hitting on me when I tell him I'm gay. And no, you don't see other gay men interfering. If a guy kept making crude comments to a girl and she told him hell no and he kept doing it, you sure as hell don't see another man interfering. And you didn't have to resort to violence unless he was raping you. If he's harassing you, file a report. you don't see me punching every straight guy.

  • You're a lady and your name is jordan? Well Jordan I really have nothing against lesbians cuz they don't act perverted like gay men do. My dear friend Catherine is a butch lesbian, I give her a ride to and from work everyday. Even she makes comments about the lewd conduct of gay men. and I'm not gonna wait for anyone to attempt to rape me, especially if it's another man. Force is the best means of prevention. Some gay men just can't understand when you tell me, go away.

  • cont, Jordan guys are attracted to lesbians cuz to many of them it's a fantasy. Many lesbians I meet look very feminine and very hot. Many men like myself are addicted to watching lesbian porn cuz the girls look good and we fantasize being in the bed with them. It's appealing cuz it's something that won't be likely to happen. but it's opposite sex attraction still unlike gay sex which is same sex attraction we str8 guys aren't turned on by intimacy between 2 men.

  • @smokeydman

every gay person doesnt go to bathhouses, and if they do...why is it your concern. from the sound of your postings, you seem like you could easily spend the time you spend judging others and work on your own issues (im assuming by the tone of your homophobia, that youre gay yourself). Good Luck

  • I know that not every gay man goes to bathhouses, and I respect those gay men. Those that do are disgusting and yes it's everyone's business cuz bathhouses are a breeding ground for diseases like aids. and only I know whether or not i'm truly str8 which I am. Shut up and fly back into the closet birdboy.

  • So much for the theory for the 'gays are wimps' theory.

  • I never thought eating twinkies was so dangerous.

  • Haha yeah, who would've though?

  • WHERE IS THE DAN WHITE FAMILY??? FUCKING COPS (TODAY) STILL THINK DAN WHITE IS A HERO AND ANGRY AT MILk/MOSCONE. JUST GOES TO SHOW YOU WHO THE TRUE ENEMY IS -- THE COPS

  • Remember Harvey Milk

  • This anger, although never gone away, is been simmering and beginning to boil again. I honesty feel something, another ruling, amendment, prop, bashing is going to ignite us again. Many fellow gays might have another opinion. You know we have rage, but I feel it coming. For me, I can't get over the sting of California or Florida when other oppressed minorities put these measures over. They've forgotten how many queers marched fifty years ago. They've sold us out thinking they've arrived.

  • The recent propositions in Cali and Florida should be of concern, and perceived as a slap in the face, to all. They should be presented for what they are, a direct violation of basic constituational and human rights. Presenting it as a "gay" issue is their way of alienating a significant portion of the great unwashed, and covering up what these propositions are really trying to do, who will vote for these propositions without realizing that they set a dangerous precedence.

  • Black people created their own civil rights movement they needed no help from you they don't owe you anything.

  • I will not yield. I will not fall. I will eat dynamite and one day, I will explode like a volcano. Good job, San Fran. You exploded alright and you will never stop exploding. I'd say God bless Milk, but somehow I don't think that is appropriate.

  • you talk like if people in San Francisco still acts like that. That incident was ignited by years of oppression and abuse towards the gay community. The unfair homicide of Milk just made the anger explode.

  • I'm from San Francisco. We are, I think it is safe to say, the most liberal city in the state, country, and possibly the world. I've been to more than a few protests for the war and prop 8 in the city and we are ready to fight for human rights. As long as there is abuse and oppression, we will fight.

  • my parents injected me with what they thought were male hormones and destroyed my renal function. They wanted to "fix you" as they called it. Today I am near death by renal failure and my parents are too ashamed to face me. simply because mother since I was a child yelled "you will give me grandkids" and father "you will be a football player" - it felt like rape and now on dialysis it feels like rape again, every day. Thanks mom and dad.

  • are you still alive?

  • i hope he is.

  • It takes balls to be a fairy! Love, a fairy.

  • Gays for years had been harassed by the cops. Cops had raided gay nightclubs and arrested those inside. Not too many years before this, holding hands in SF could get you beat up, or worse. When Dan White, former cop, got a slap on the wrist, San Francisco's gay community decided that it had had enough.

There are times when burning cop cars is the appropriate action.

  • Having come home from watching the Gus van Sant movie 'Milk' this evening and still agog at how damned good it was, I went digging on youtube for someone who'd put anything relevant up.

Thank you for sharing this: it really captures something that just floored me at the time.

  • Remember Harvey Milk!

  • I just finished reading Randy Shilts "The Mayor of Castro Street". Reading about the White Night Riot had me cheering.

This is what we need to do, take back our rights. If we have to do it by force then so be it.

I will not be pushed aside because I am gay.

  • WWII

  • no one gives riot like the gays!! when you're right you're right!

  • And our anger is growing!

  • This will at some point happen again-the anger is there and the wick is burning!

  • They should teach what happened to Harvey and Moscone in schools and put it in history books.

  • I know... in my history book all they have for gays is the AIDS quilt! We watched an Martin Luther King documentary before this weekend and I really don't see any difference in the two. Gays need rights! When I'm old enough, I'll be marching in every fucking parade I can.

  • HI, i'm italian and we in italy don't study harvey milk's hystory here noone knows who is harvey.

But after i've watched the film I've thinked he is not less important of m.l.k.

Onfinite respect and honor to harvey milk!

  • Thank you I love you. lol. You're randomly looking up American history?.... Just out of curiousity. But yeah last week in school we also watched a film based on the East LA walkouts.... (there's ALOT of Mexicans in the city I live in they actually make up TWICE as much as all of the races combined) just makes me angry... lol and for the state I live in we sure have alot of gay/bisexual people.

  • Martin Luther King fought for a good cause, the cause of racial equality for all people, people whose only crime was being born black. They had no choice in the matter, BUT, in the case of gays, you choose to live like that. So please don't try to compare the two, they're not the same.

  • okay, you're obviously just starting crap for no good reason... either that or you're the biggest youtube boob I've ever met. It's scientifically proven that you're more likely to be born gay than you are to be left handed. Just really... look at the facts before you go saying stuff like that. There's even a video on Youtube that explains some scientific facs. And no, we're not perverted. We have just as much of a sex drive as straight people do. Equal rights for all people IS a good cause.

  • Never! what significance is there in Harvey Milk? A man that chooses to live a perverted lifestyle. This isn't good education for children.

  • @dammitdexter - that will never happen because the government is afraid to admit it happened and how it harmed others. R.I.P. Harvey Milk & Moscone

  • We need more riots nowadays.

  • Such a shame how no one probably knows what this was. Twinkie defense...what a joke.

  • Riot On!

  • For all those who participated in this riot - THANK YOU!
