It's important to remember that what the Soviet Union became was not what it was intended to be. Lenin and Trotsky, among others, worked tirelessly (Lenin literally worked himself to death) to create a classless, free society, and it was Stalin who ruined it all, with posthumous help from men like Brezhnev and Andropov.

You are right about the Internationale being the Soviet Anthem,but that was the Old anthem,like when the Bolsheviks overthrew the whites. There is a 1944 version,and a 1977 version.

This is the original and true anthem of revolution and solidarity, the later "soviet" anthems were nothing more than nationalist garbage more reminiscent of a degenerate state capitalism than any sort of revolutionary international socialism

THe Internationale was written for the Paris Commune, during the 1800's, when the peasants and the bourgeoisie united in ending the feudal exploitation of the monarchy. The fact that it is still sung today reveals the fact that people the world over still experience exploitation.
