I grew up listening almost exclusively to The Doors and Black Sabbath. How deeply crushed i was when Jim Morrison died. In a way he was a victim of his own excesses, not only because of his alcohol and drug abuse, but because he became something of a harlequin, a performer who had to shock the audience. He could no longer simply be brilliant; he had to produce a spectacle. This, as much as anything, killed him. He was tired of having to be what he had become.
The prettiest song in the history of The Doors, without question. Much of the music of The Doors was intense, deep, challenging, even sacrosanct. This simple ballad, with only a few words, did not dazzle anyone with its intellectualism or its desire to offend or elucidate. It was simply a very romantic and beautiful song to which any person could relate, and in that way, perhaps it was the greatest achievement of The Doors. It certainly holds a very strong and complex memory for me.
This is the best of theDoors between their first and last albums. I wish this would have been extended out like Light My Fire with great solos from Ray and Robbie.
@spockles Is there really such a thing as real music? Can you ever recall a time when you were listening to a song without any outside noise that wasn't intended? Example.. the sound of your foot tapping while listening to your favorite Lady Gaga song, or the tone of your computer humming listening to this video, is that real music or not? I'd like your definition.
WMG>. your just pissing people off, you do know that all your doing right? nothing good comes out of this for you, if anything this si gonna hurt you, because now, i will nvr buy an album just because of this, i might of before, but u pissed me off a little, and soon u will be no more, quote me on that, R.I.P WMG
WMG, you are just a bunch of slaves(remember Jim, Miami 1969?)! I really really get so annoyed by this kind of childish behaviour. We are Doors-fans and we all bought his music, so go away and try to be not so shallow and just let us enjoy Jim, Jims pictures, along with his music. Jim was right.
hey WGM. ive got all the doors albums,i copied all of them to my hard drive so i can give my friends copies.See you dont make shit outta me anymore and recommend everyone do the same with WGM products.
@ciskettacalicrian87 WMG=Warner Music Group, one of the 3 global corporations dominating the music industry, along with UMG (Universal Music Group) and SME (Sony Music and Entertainment). There were five but UMG bought EMI (it was in England) and SME bought BMG (it was in Germany). The saddest part of this, besides the complete commodification of recorded music today, is that they own the back catalogs of labels like RCA, Columbia, Island, Decca, Reprise, Atco, Atlantic, Stax, Elektra, and more.
