i dont know if you can really say the east is weak. Sure from top to bottom its not nearly as good but the East has won the title with the pistons, celts, and miami while the west has only won with the spurs since the lakers dynasty ended
The East has 2, 3 really good teams and the rest of the Conference is average to complete garbage. Look at the records of the EC and WC teams from last year. There were EIGHT 50+ win teams in the West and the Warriors missed the playoffs despite going 48-34. That record is an easy 4th seed in the East. No wonder a girl like Elton b-RAN-d goes East - life's much easier there. He'll even be in the running for the all-star team whereas there are 6, 7 equal or better PFs in the West.
Well the East has better overall top quality teams than the West, but the west has better team 4th seed and up. And while the Lakers rolled over ever top quality team in the west they got stomped by the Celts who could barely win a series
Celts peaked at time right time whereas the Lakers peaked too early. If it wasn't for home court, Boston would've lost to the Hawks in the first round but they got it together when it counted the most - in the Finals. At the end of the day, the West has 7 or 8 of the top 10 teams in the league, and that balance remains. You can totally forget about Boston winning 66 games if they had to go up vs. SA, LA, NOLA, Utah, Dallas, Phoenix, Houston, etc. as opposed to the cannon fodder of the East.

The East has 2, 3 really good teams and the rest of the Conference is average to complete garbage. Look at the records of the EC and WC teams from last year. There were EIGHT 50+ win teams in the West and the Warriors missed the playoffs despite going 48-34. That record is an easy 4th seed in the East. No wonder a girl like Elton b-RAN-d goes East - life's much easier there. He'll even be in the running for the all-star team whereas there are 6, 7 equal or better PFs in the West.

Celts peaked at time right time whereas the Lakers peaked too early. If it wasn't for home court, Boston would've lost to the Hawks in the first round but they got it together when it counted the most - in the Finals. At the end of the day, the West has 7 or 8 of the top 10 teams in the league, and that balance remains. You can totally forget about Boston winning 66 games if they had to go up vs. SA, LA, NOLA, Utah, Dallas, Phoenix, Houston, etc. as opposed to the cannon fodder of the East.

The clips fans aren't angry because he left we are angry because of the way he left. If he had opted and said I want to go to another team we would have been fine with that, we would have wished him well and thanked him for his time and probably had cheered him when he came back with whatever team signed on.
