Just picked myself up the same exact rifle with the same exact scope. It's a really nice setup for starters who want to get into serious long range target shooting. I will get some shooting vids up soon. It's nice to see other people using the 10fp to it's fullest potential. The 5R milspec is nice, however with Savage's button rifling and acc-trigger. I would still chose it over the 5R any day. :)
Who cares if the paint scratches? Think about how many times a year you have to retouch your camo in most parts of the country... every season.
I clean the old paint off with carb cleaner and reapply as needed. I have considered a better ceracoat or duracoat as a base, but the top will always be krylon for me.
If you just want it for the looks, then your mileage may vary...
wow great job! im still scared to try on my REAL firearms and thats why im practicing on my childhood bb guns... did you do any kind of protection coating on it??? i ask because all the handling that is done, little by little the paint starts coming off.
first of all nice video the rifle looks good. and from your video it shoots good also. i have one question how come you use a fixed power scope rather than a variable. i am new to long range shooting and was just wondering?
NEVER NEVER EVER paint the crown of your rifle man....
