Heey, Ur dutch? Like your setup! I'm getting it myself to only a bit diffrent. I'm getting the Mac Mini and the new Apple LED Cinema Display 24" flat panel. Awsomenes :)
It's not that portable in my opinion. You need to bring a display with you, unplug all the components, bring a keyboard and mouse with you, and the power cord with you. ... or maybe it's the way mine is set up...
If you get the mini as a portable computer, its likley for presentations(powerpoint, keynote). A mini is fine for this, just use a projector on location.
can you delete this comment i just made... it was meant for another video that i was watching... better go to sleep now... starting to do silly things.. it's almost 3am here
I am getting a Mini in like 10-14 days.... I have a Monitor and I am going to hook up Boston Aucoustics Speakers to the Mini. The DVI-VGA conector/adapter included with the Mini or is that a seperate purchase that I need to make ?? TY
Well, I think the first question you have to ask yourself here is "Do I already own a screen, keyboard and mouse that I'm satisfied with?" If so, I guess you could consider the mini with the fastes configuration although the speed and capacity of the harddrive might be a bottleneck since you're planning on doing all those HD-intensive thing like video-editing.
Personally I would go for the iMac. Not only are they very beautiful machines but they als outdo the mini in every single spec (size aside). And of course, you don't have to worry about getting a nice/good keyboard and mouse that matches your setup.
Whether to go for the 20" or the 24" I think that's a matter of budget. If you have the money I would definitely go for the 24" because the screen is of a better quality than the 20" one. And of course you can never have enough screen estate :)
Good luck with it!
PS: What do you mean with "What happens about internet security on safari?"
i have a mini because im not rich lol but i do find the hard drive rubbish on it plus my 160gb external drive crashed and died while i was imovieing and i lost about 100gb of stuff.... i would love an imac, but i do find the minis size brilliant, i take it to school with my video projects on and use the school monitors and it attracts lots of attention :)
Hey man what keyboard/mouse set you got I'm interested if its BlueTooth how much did it cost? Also the speaker set, what type is it, how much did it cost? I'm getting a MacBook soon, I need extras like that, so if you could tell me that'd be great.

If I where you I would get an iMac which is way more bang for your buck imho.
The mini is being really neglected spec-wise and I wouldn' count on any love from Apple..

did the display cost more than the mini?
williamli 4 years ago 6
Yes :)
At the time I bought the mini for 325€ and the display for 350€. And I didn't regret it for a second. The Cinema Displays are really top notch.

So far the only reason i would swap my PC gaming machine for that mac, is the screen saver, very very cool.

If you would just click on '(more)' on the right side of the video (right under 'About This Video') you would see it's all there..
And it isn't bluetooth? You can see the receiver plugged in at the back of the Cinema Display (01:25)

monserpq38 4 years ago
Bass is not directional, as long as you can hear/feel it, it's fine.

Yeah but you can hear it more on top of the desk.
