that's not a loud purr, my cat was healthy but purred like an old mottor. The doctor said he was normal. He died like a happy loved cat at 18 years old :)

I volunteer at the humane society and its weird; cats seem to know that their well-being is on the line and that they have to win people over. Its kind of depressing, I always feel like I'm in an old-school orphanage where they all line up and try to look/act their best to just get a little attention.

A lot of cats purr like that, actually. Even mine does that, but her purr is even louder and more bubbly. And you can't adopt them all (that sounds conceited, but I don't mean it like that- I foster orphaned cats & dogs, which is just as good as adopting them- it means they don't get put to sleep and they get a good family)
