I have an Intel DG31PR, Core2 Duo E7400... I've hit roadblocks after roadblocks.. Even B4 I've tried anything! WILL SOME1.. Plz show me some possibility of hope :(. Tried CPUCool, Win7 after startup has NEVER been slower. This was before ANY tweaks.. at ALL! So.. 3 Things:
1) Gonna get a new PC anyways.
2) Not, looking to any upgrades/cooling-hardware to existing rig..
3) DON'T care about breaking/totalling/Raining Armageddon!!..
-just lookin 4 a fitting farewell to a sturdy setup.. Help :)!
You can oc that E6420 way higher with aftermarket cooler m8 :d i hade one running on 3.52ghz(440*8) 24/7 and 3.65ghz bench stable.Max i got it to boot was 3.8Ghz
Thank you very much for the video guide. I have a P35 Gigabyte board and your video is the best guide for me!!! I managed to overclock my DDR fsb to 800 and my CPU to 3Ghz up from 2.4ghz!!! Thank you once again! :-)
Good beginners guide, but trying to run your memory at 1150 wouldn't destroy it, just not post or BSOD. Clearing cmos or autorecovering from backup bios would boot again.
And no you can't test if your memory is suffering from too high voltage, it will thrive in high voltage until temperature from the high power kills it. You can then verify that its dead with memtest.
Cheers. Helped me out with my E6600 and similar specced RAM. :)
I tried 333x9 but it crashed upon loading into Windows. Ended up having to up the voltage 3 notches further than you did and drop the FSB to 300 to get 2700MHz. I'll have a play around though and try to hit the 333x9 sweet spot.
i have 4 gb corsair xms2 ddr2 5-5-5-4 (i dont know what that means ) , the gigabyte p35 mobo , and a core 2 duo e 8400 . I want to oc the micro but i dont get why people talks about the memory if the interest is ocing the procesor . lets say if i want to oc to 3.4 how that affects my RAM ? and ur recommended voltage plz . Tanx for this video i learned a lot but i still have some thechnical lagoons in my brain .

I have a question about the CPU host frequency.
How do i determine what to set that to and what is it exactly ? Cause if i put that on 300 or higher i cant boot..
