But look....OMG...one has to take note....the young 13 year old outragous singer, Rachel Crowe, of Denver, Colorado, who picked this song herself and sang in last Wednesday on X-Factor, has a remarkable resemblance to Etta James herself. WOW.

Experiencing Etta James in concert from my teens in 64 to 06 Wiltern Theater performance, this seventies era performance is tremendous and from "Deep In The Night" Jerry Wexler produced seventies classic that is a total masterpiece...don't miss it, the greatest and this kind of singing isn't going to happen again...Bravo Etta!

It must have been such an honor and privilege to work with such a phenemonal woman , a true pioneer of R&B and one if the greatest voices ever . I just dont understand why Etta doesn't get all the accolades her peers have gotten ..ie.. Kennedy Center Honors , if anyone deserves it , it's her ! Etta encompassed the whole genre of R&B , Soul , Rock , Jazz , ,, someone gave the title to the wrong person ... She is "The Queen of Soul " in my opinion .. Correction : Etta had just finished battling her drug addictions ,,, this performance totally shows you a new" Reborn" Etta , one of the greatest performances ever .!!!!

Etta was battling a horrible drug addiction during this time .... Her live performances were very far and few in-between because of  time in rehab ..... She did record albums during this time and despite her demons her voice was always flawless and just got better with time ,,,, in my opinion she is the true Queen of Soul !!!

It's from this period and it's is totally amazing!

@Clentoneriksson @Cmeljazzman glad you like that one!! She was in great form on that album, mixed and edited in 1981 for LP release, only to be shelved til 1992 release on Private Records.. I was musical director/guitarist and co producer on the album. The original recordings were longer live versions.. many more songs on tape not yet mixed. it was a 2 or 3 night stand at the Boarding House w all performances recorded.. Whew, she moves me.. and all of us.

We pray for her health and family.
