@DangerouslyxxDreamin No, he admits his infidelities. However, their conversation isn't detailed, but one can assume that they just moved past it, seeing as they sleep together the rest of the night.

that´s what i like about Odysseus, he´s always using his brains. he comes home, he sees what´s going on, he waits, watches, learns about the suitors, collects allies, prepares his plan. he´s turning a disadvantageous situation into an advantageous one. this requires brains, courage & patience. if he had revealed his identity from the very beginning, the suitors would´ve killed him.
the moment he holds the bow in his hands, however, is the moment of truth. and there´s no escape for the suitors.
@purplePizazz well, he was away from his wife for 20 years, what you expect? he´s only a man after all... he had affairs with 2 immortals (Circe & Calypso), not the worst choice :) and Calypso even offered him immortality. he refused: in the end his love for his wife & home prevailed. he might be a cheater but he came home & saved her from that bunch of parasites. even if he knew she was not so young & pretty as 20 years ago. that´s real love.
and i think he never told her about his "affairs" :)
Ha, stupid suitors :P

IN the book, doesn't he say that he resisted their pleads to have sex? Or am I mistaken?

@purplePizazz I don't think so...I mean, Penelope's the only one he ever truly loved. He gave up immortality for her.
But yeah, he really pissed me off with the whole Calypso/Circe thing.
