I suggest you Latter Day Saints read his book "The Miracle of Forgiveness". If you have read it then my question is are you "living all the commandments guarantees total forgiveness of sins and assures one of exaltation through perfection...." Are you living the commandments 100%? If you are you need to share a secret that no one knows about.
watch Spencer W Kimball 1979 LDS General Conference he warns GET PREPARED, A STORM IS COMING, THERE WILL BE DAY OF CONFUSION, AND SORROW THE WORLD AS WE SEE IT SHALL NEVER BE THE SAME something members and non-member seriously need to watch.
A testimony is just his witness of the truth as he sees it... Ever heard of offering a written statement in a court of law? There is no problem with reading pre-written notes.
you're right, He is reading a piece of paper.. but, He Wrote those words through the Spirit.. so did Paul, John, Moses, Jeremiah, and all of the other prophets in the bible.. that He is reading does not necesarily mean that he is not feeling it.. Diego
Este testimonio es sólo una parte de un discurso dado por el Presidente Kimball en una conferencia general. Todo el discurso se escribe para que quede en los registros históricos de la Iglesia.
No matter how the words of Christ are expressed, it always can come unto our heart. I can also feel the power of the testimony of prophets of old when I read their words in the scriptures, what are tecnically just a piece of paper too.
I promise you in the name of the Lord whose servant I am that God will always protect and care for his people. We will have our difficulties the way every generation and people have had difficulties. But with the gospel of Jesus Christ, you have every hope and promise and reassurance. The Lord has power over his Saints and will always prepare places of peace, defense, and safety for his people.
-Howard W. Hunter witness and apostle of Jesus Christ

'Yes,' I said, 'but we are commanded to be supermen. Said the Lord, 'Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.' (Matt. 5:48.) We are gods in embryo, and the Lord demands perfection of us.'" (Miracle of Forgiveness by Spencer W. Kimball p. 286)
Are you perfect? (2 Nephi 25:23; 1 Nephi 3:7; Moroni 10:32) When will the grace of God be sufficient. After all you can do.
I don't remember Spencer W. Kimball, he was before my baptism. I heard he was a treasured prophet. Gordon B. Hinckley was the temple building president, who helped spread the gospel around the world.
He was unbelievable. He was the first I really knew as I was growing up and I will tell you when he spoke I could hear Chrsit himself talking to my soul. Many of councils he spoke and the love he exuded brought me through the teen years and got me back on track. We thank thee oh God for a Prophet!
@LeoBurns728 I was baptism when I was 11 years old, and my grandfather died, the president Spencer W. Kimball was occupied that position, one day He said "every young man has to serve on the mission" and I did, and when I was 24 He said "every young man has to get married before 26 years old" and I did, I believed that He was inspired on every moment that He spoke you can feel the tenderness of His soul
I don't believe a damn thing in The Book Of Mormon, but I could listen to this man's voice for days...

They read everything off of the teleprompter these days. Virtually nothing is left unscripted for broadcast and later publication.

I joined the church in 1977. Then in 1978 Pres Kimball then gave the new revelation on the Priesthood. He was such a sweet Prophet.
