What just happened here? You rolled over a scale at some point but how do you know if you are weighted correctly? What if you are not? Are these weight stations open all the time? Can you go around them for any reason?
i dont like runnin into cali. i think the split speedlimit is more dangerous than not. 4 wheelers fly around ya all the time and weave in and out of trucks which causes a recipe for disaster, especionally in winter.
I got rear-ended by a motor home right after that scale. Snowing hard, not icy, just packed snow.
Turned the motor home into a parallelagram, which then proceeded to take out 2 more cars into the median.
Damage to the truck: cracked mud flap on the trailing box (had rigid, plastic-like flaps). I was loaded with wine bottles. Grossed out, 25mph. CHP officer said he was doing at least 50.
Never asked to look at my logs- let me smoke in the cruiser- he was cool.
@seansuth hey kid that horse sounded so sweet as you shifted those 3 or 4 gears. What engine was purring like that.I'm gonna go with a Detroit .maybe Cat??
PrePass is an intelligent transportation system (ITS) service that electronically verifies the safety, credentials, and weight of commercial vehicles at participating state highway weigh stations. Because they comply electronically, commercial carriers enrolled in PrePass are authorized to bypass these facilities rather than pull in for manual inspection.
PrePass is available to motor carriers at nearly 300 facilities in 29 states.
got question here, I am not a trucker, and i was wondering if there is a system, so you don't need to do scales anymore, just continue the route and due that system build in the truck they can see the weight you have?
I can't remember, is this Northbound or Southbound? I haven't been up that way in years. Also, what's the deal with turning off your lights at night while going over the scales? Some drivers do, and some don't...I don't, because it's nighttime lol

Is it true that Chowchilla (on 99) is where they break in all their new recruit CHP troopers to teach them how truckers react when they hassle us?
